The SOUL Valved Exhaust System is designed for Porsche 981 Boxster and Cayman owners who want to bring out significantly more of the naturally aspirated flat-six character while retaining the ability to quiet the car when desired. Rather than simply increasing volume, the system uses two distinct exhaust paths to provide a refined, controlled sound with the valves closed and a dramatically more aggressive motorsport-inspired tone with the valves open.
With the valves closed, exhaust gases are routed through SOUL's packed mufflers, which are specifically designed to minimize cabin drone while maintaining a refined, sporty exhaust note. This makes the system well suited for highway cruising, longer trips, early-morning starts, and everyday street use.
Open the valves and exhaust gases are allowed to flow through large 2.5-inch piping, substantially increasing volume and allowing more of the 981's naturally aspirated flat-six sound to come through. Perforations within the system keep the mufflers acoustically connected to the exhaust path, helping create a fuller and more robust tone rather than simply making the car louder.
For vehicles equipped with factory Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE), the SOUL system can retain factory valve operation using the existing exhaust controls. Vehicles without PSE use the included SOUL valve controller. The controller can also provide direct manual valve override on PSE-equipped vehicles, giving the driver greater control over when the exhaust valves are open or closed.
