Product Description

The SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes are designed for Porsche 992.1 Carrera owners seeking maximum exhaust flow, substantially increased turbocharger sound, sharper throttle response, and a much more aggressive flat-six exhaust character.

The factory catalytic-converter assemblies are replaced with unrestricted stainless steel bypass pipes, removing one of the most significant restrictions immediately downstream of the turbochargers. The freer exhaust path allows considerably more turbocharger spool, whistle, engine note, and exhaust crackle to come through while improving turbo response and overall drivability.

SOUL constructs each Cat Bypass Pipe from mandrel-bent 2.5-inch-diameter, .065-inch-wall T304L stainless steel tubing with CNC-cut flanges, laser-cut mounting brackets, and back-purged welds for durability under high-temperature street and track use.

For performance-focused 992.1 Carrera builds, the Cat Bypass Pipes provide SOUL's least restrictive catalyst-section configuration.

CATLESS DESIGN:

The factory catalytic converters create significant restriction immediately after the turbochargers.

SOUL replaces these assemblies with free-flowing stainless steel bypass pipes, removing the catalyst cores entirely and providing a much less restrictive path for exhaust gases leaving the turbines.

Reducing post-turbine restriction can improve turbocharger response and allows considerably more of the turbochargers' natural sound to pass through the exhaust system.

The result is a noticeably more responsive and engaging 992.1 Carrera with substantially more turbo and engine character.

SOUND CHARACTER:

Removing the factory catalytic converters produces one of the most dramatic sound changes available for the 992.1 Carrera.

Expect:

POWER / DYNO DEVELOPMENT:

SOUL tested the Cat Bypass Pipes with CBTuning using a Dyno Dynamics dynamometer.

Testing compared the factory configuration with a vehicle equipped with SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes and an upgraded CBTuning ECU calibration.

SOUL reports gains of more than 100 wheel horsepower and 215 lb-ft of torque through portions of the powerband when the Cat Bypass Pipes were paired with the upgraded ECU tune.

These figures represent the combined effect of the freer-flowing Cat Bypass Pipes and ECU calibration and should not be interpreted as an exhaust-only horsepower gain.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT:

Because the SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes completely remove the factory catalytic converters, installation may trigger catalyst-efficiency-related diagnostic trouble codes and a check engine light.

SOUL recommends an appropriate custom ECU calibration for track-use vehicles when catalyst-related diagnostic functions need to be addressed.

Customers should assume that catalyst-related fault codes are possible when installing this product.

NORTH AMERICAN VS. EUROPEAN VEHICLES:

North American Vehicles

The Cat Bypass Pipes are designed for North American-market 992.1 Carrera vehicles without Gasoline Particulate Filters.

Because the catalytic converters are removed, catalyst-related fault codes remain possible.

European / GPF-Spec Vehicles

SOUL states that the Cat Bypass Pipes also physically fit European-specification models.

These vehicles must be paired with an appropriate ECU calibration to address resulting check engine lights and the changes to the factory emissions hardware.

Customers with non-North-American vehicles should confirm their exact exhaust configuration before ordering.

FACTORY PSE / NON-PSE COMPATIBILITY:

The SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes replace components upstream of the rear muffler and exhaust-valve system.

They are compatible with both:

• Standard / non-PSE rear exhaust systems

• Factory Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE) systems

Installing the Cat Bypass Pipes does not remove the factory rear exhaust valves or prevent normal PSE operation.
