Porsche 992.1 Turbo / Turbo S SOUL X-Pipe Exhaust System
Product Description
The SOUL X-Pipe Exhaust System is designed for Porsche 992.1 Turbo and Turbo S owners looking for substantially more flat-six and turbocharger sound while retaining the factory catalytic-converter sections and OEM exhaust connection points.
Rather than using another valved rear muffler, SOUL replaces the factory valved muffler assembly with a non-valved, resonated X-pipe. Eliminating the secondary quieter exhaust path allows the system to provide increased sound throughout the rev range instead of relying on Porsche's factory valve programming to progressively increase volume as engine speed rises.
The system is developed from SOUL's complete 992 Performance Exhaust architecture but is specifically tailored to connect to the factory catalyst sections and OEM rear exhaust interfaces. This makes it a highly modular upgrade that can be installed with the stock catalytic converters today and paired with upgraded catalyst sections later.
SOUL's resonated X-pipe produces a smooth, rich, higher-pitched flat-six sound with limited drone, providing reasonable volume during low-speed operation while maximizing sound toward the upper end of the rev range.

Modular non-valved resonated X-Pipe Exhaust System
Replaces the factory valved rear muffler
Retains the factory catalytic-converter sections unless separately upgraded
Designed around all OEM exhaust connection points
Compatible with factory or appropriate aftermarket catalyst sections
Developed from SOUL's complete 992 Performance Exhaust System architecture
Eliminates the quieter secondary flow path used by the factory valved exhaust
Makes additional exhaust sound available throughout the rev range
Circumvents the factory valve programming that progressively increases exhaust volume as RPM rises
Produces a smooth, rich, higher-pitched flat-six tone
Provides increased turbocharger sound
Maximizes sound toward the upper end of the rev range
Maintains reasonable sound levels during low-speed operation
Resonated construction helps control unwanted cabin drone

Valve Simulator Brackets allow the factory electronic valve actuators to operate correctly after removal of the factory valved muffler
No ECU tune is required solely to accommodate removal of the factory rear exhaust valves when the included simulator hardware is installed correctly
Constructed from mandrel-bent .065-inch-wall T304L stainless steel
Back-purged TIG welded for proper penetration and long-term durability
Water-jet-cut exhaust flanges manufactured to approximately ±0.003-inch tolerances
Exhaust flanges manufactured to ISO 9001:2015 standards
Fabricated in thick-gauge aluminum fixtures that act as heat sinks during welding and help prevent distortion
Direct bolt-on installation
Designed and manufactured in-house by SOUL Performance Products in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania
Backed by SOUL Performance Products' Lifetime Warranty for street and track use
NON-VALVED X-PIPE DESIGN:
The factory 992 Turbo exhaust uses electronically controlled valves to alter exhaust volume.
Porsche progressively changes valve position depending on operating conditions rather than simply switching between fully open and fully closed.
SOUL's X-Pipe eliminates this variable rear-muffler architecture entirely.
Instead, exhaust is routed through a dedicated non-valved X-pipe at all times. This allows more exhaust sound to be available immediately and prevents a quieter secondary flow path from continuing to absorb exhaust energy when maximum sound is desired.
The result is a simpler system designed for owners who want a consistently stronger exhaust note without needing switchable sound levels.
SOUND CHARACTER:
The SOUL X-Pipe provides a noticeable increase in exhaust character throughout the RPM range.
Expect:
Increased turbocharger spool sound
Increased turbocharger whistle
Greater flat-six exhaust presence
A smoother and richer exhaust tone
Higher-pitched character as engine speed rises
Greater mechanical feedback under acceleration
More sound available from low engine speeds
Significantly stronger sound toward the top of the rev range
Limited unwanted cabin drone
With the factory catalytic converters retained, the X-Pipe provides a substantial increase in character while remaining relatively controlled.
Installing freer-flowing Sport Catalytic Converters or Cat Bypass Pipes will substantially increase turbocharger sound and overall exhaust volume.
RESONATED X-PIPE:
Despite its relatively simple architecture, the SOUL X-Pipe is not merely a straight-through muffler-delete pipe.
SOUL developed the resonated system to produce a smoother and more refined exhaust tone while controlling unwanted frequencies.
The resonators help maintain reasonable low-speed sound levels and limit drone without preventing the system from becoming considerably more aggressive as engine speed increases.
This makes the X-Pipe particularly attractive for owners who want a simple non-valved exhaust but still expect an engineered sound profile rather than an uncontrolled straight-pipe character.
MODULAR EXHAUST DESIGN:
One of the biggest advantages of the SOUL X-Pipe is its modularity.
The same rear X-Pipe can be retained as the vehicle's catalyst configuration changes.
Factory Catalytic Converters + SOUL X-Pipe
Provides significantly greater exhaust and turbocharger sound while retaining the factory catalytic converters.
SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters + SOUL X-Pipe
Provides increased exhaust flow, greater turbocharger sound, stronger engine character, and a catted performance configuration.
SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes + SOUL X-Pipe
Creates a significantly more aggressive catless configuration intended for appropriate competition applications.
This allows owners to progressively modify the exhaust without replacing the rear X-Pipe as their performance goals change.
VALVE SIMULATOR BRACKETS:
The factory 992 Turbo uses electronically controlled exhaust-valve actuators.
When the factory valved muffler is removed, these electronic actuators cannot simply be disconnected without potentially creating vehicle diagnostic issues.
SOUL includes dedicated Valve Simulator Brackets with the X-Pipe Exhaust System.
These brackets allow the factory actuators to continue operating through their expected mechanical movement even though the aftermarket X-Pipe itself contains no exhaust valves.
This allows the non-valved X-Pipe to be installed without requiring an ECU tune solely to accommodate the removal of the factory rear exhaust valves.
X-PIPE VS. VALVED EXHAUST:
The SOUL X-Pipe Exhaust System uses a fixed non-valved exhaust path designed to maximize available sound while retaining reasonable refinement through resonators.
The SOUL Valved Exhaust System retains electronically controlled exhaust-volume adjustment for owners who want a greater difference between quiet and aggressive operation.
X-Pipe Exhaust
Non-valved
More sound available throughout the rev range
Simpler rear exhaust architecture
Lower purchase price
Resonated to limit unwanted drone
Retains factory or compatible aftermarket catalyst sections
Best suited to owners who do not need switchable exhaust volume
Valved Exhaust
Retains factory-controlled valve operation
Provides quieter cruising capability
Greater range between subdued and aggressive operation
Better suited to owners prioritizing maximum everyday refinement
CATALYTIC CONVERTER COMPATIBILITY:
The SOUL X-Pipe itself does not remove the factory catalytic converters.
It is designed to connect to the OEM catalyst sections or aftermarket components using the same factory rear exhaust connection.
This means the X-Pipe can be installed as a standalone rear exhaust upgrade without altering the vehicle's catalyst configuration.
Emissions and diagnostic considerations associated with Sport Catalytic Converters or Cat Bypass Pipes depend on those separate components.
EXHAUST TIPS:
There are no separate exhaust-tip options associated with this product.
The X-Pipe is designed around the existing rear exhaust outlet / tip arrangement and OEM connection architecture.
No exhaust-tip variant is required when ordering.
