Product Description
The SOUL X-Pipe Exhaust System is designed for Porsche 992.1 Turbo and Turbo S owners looking for substantially more flat-six and turbocharger sound while retaining the factory catalytic-converter sections and OEM exhaust connection points.
Rather than using another valved rear muffler, SOUL replaces the factory valved muffler assembly with a non-valved, resonated X-pipe. Eliminating the secondary quieter exhaust path allows the system to provide increased sound throughout the rev range instead of relying on Porsche's factory valve programming to progressively increase volume as engine speed rises.
The system is developed from SOUL's complete 992 Performance Exhaust architecture but is specifically tailored to connect to the factory catalyst sections and OEM rear exhaust interfaces. This makes it a highly modular upgrade that can be installed with the stock catalytic converters today and paired with upgraded catalyst sections later.
SOUL's resonated X-pipe produces a smooth, rich, higher-pitched flat-six sound with limited drone, providing reasonable volume during low-speed operation while maximizing sound toward the upper end of the rev range.

NON-VALVED X-PIPE DESIGN:
The factory 992 Turbo exhaust uses electronically controlled valves to alter exhaust volume.
Porsche progressively changes valve position depending on operating conditions rather than simply switching between fully open and fully closed.
SOUL's X-Pipe eliminates this variable rear-muffler architecture entirely.
Instead, exhaust is routed through a dedicated non-valved X-pipe at all times. This allows more exhaust sound to be available immediately and prevents a quieter secondary flow path from continuing to absorb exhaust energy when maximum sound is desired.
The result is a simpler system designed for owners who want a consistently stronger exhaust note without needing switchable sound levels.
SOUND CHARACTER:
The SOUL X-Pipe provides a noticeable increase in exhaust character throughout the RPM range.
Expect:
Increased turbocharger spool sound
Increased turbocharger whistle
Greater flat-six exhaust presence
A smoother and richer exhaust tone
Higher-pitched character as engine speed rises
Greater mechanical feedback under acceleration
More sound available from low engine speeds
Significantly stronger sound toward the top of the rev range
Limited unwanted cabin drone
With the factory catalytic converters retained, the X-Pipe provides a substantial increase in character while remaining relatively controlled.
Installing freer-flowing Sport Catalytic Converters or Cat Bypass Pipes will substantially increase turbocharger sound and overall exhaust volume.
RESONATED X-PIPE:
Despite its relatively simple architecture, the SOUL X-Pipe is not merely a straight-through muffler-delete pipe.
SOUL developed the resonated system to produce a smoother and more refined exhaust tone while controlling unwanted frequencies.
The resonators help maintain reasonable low-speed sound levels and limit drone without preventing the system from becoming considerably more aggressive as engine speed increases.
This makes the X-Pipe particularly attractive for owners who want a simple non-valved exhaust but still expect an engineered sound profile rather than an uncontrolled straight-pipe character.
MODULAR EXHAUST DESIGN:
One of the biggest advantages of the SOUL X-Pipe is its modularity.
The same rear X-Pipe can be retained as the vehicle's catalyst configuration changes.
Factory Catalytic Converters + SOUL X-Pipe
Provides significantly greater exhaust and turbocharger sound while retaining the factory catalytic converters.
SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters + SOUL X-Pipe
Provides increased exhaust flow, greater turbocharger sound, stronger engine character, and a catted performance configuration.
SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes + SOUL X-Pipe
Creates a significantly more aggressive catless configuration intended for appropriate competition applications.
This allows owners to progressively modify the exhaust without replacing the rear X-Pipe as their performance goals change.
VALVE SIMULATOR BRACKETS:
The factory 992 Turbo uses electronically controlled exhaust-valve actuators.
When the factory valved muffler is removed, these electronic actuators cannot simply be disconnected without potentially creating vehicle diagnostic issues.
SOUL includes dedicated Valve Simulator Brackets with the X-Pipe Exhaust System.
These brackets allow the factory actuators to continue operating through their expected mechanical movement even though the aftermarket X-Pipe itself contains no exhaust valves.
This allows the non-valved X-Pipe to be installed without requiring an ECU tune solely to accommodate the removal of the factory rear exhaust valves.
X-PIPE VS. VALVED EXHAUST:
The SOUL X-Pipe Exhaust System uses a fixed non-valved exhaust path designed to maximize available sound while retaining reasonable refinement through resonators.
The SOUL Valved Exhaust System retains electronically controlled exhaust-volume adjustment for owners who want a greater difference between quiet and aggressive operation.
X-Pipe Exhaust
Non-valved
More sound available throughout the rev range
Simpler rear exhaust architecture
Lower purchase price
Resonated to limit unwanted drone
Retains factory or compatible aftermarket catalyst sections
Best suited to owners who do not need switchable exhaust volume
Valved Exhaust
Retains factory-controlled valve operation
Provides quieter cruising capability
Greater range between subdued and aggressive operation
Better suited to owners prioritizing maximum everyday refinement
CATALYTIC CONVERTER COMPATIBILITY:
The SOUL X-Pipe itself does not remove the factory catalytic converters.
It is designed to connect to the OEM catalyst sections or aftermarket components using the same factory rear exhaust connection.
This means the X-Pipe can be installed as a standalone rear exhaust upgrade without altering the vehicle's catalyst configuration.
Emissions and diagnostic considerations associated with Sport Catalytic Converters or Cat Bypass Pipes depend on those separate components.
EXHAUST TIPS:
There are no separate exhaust-tip options associated with this product.
The X-Pipe is designed around the existing rear exhaust outlet / tip arrangement and OEM connection architecture.
No exhaust-tip variant is required when ordering.
Product Description
The SOUL Valved Exhaust System is designed for Porsche 992.1 Turbo and Turbo S owners looking for a substantial increase in exhaust sound while retaining the refinement and variable exhaust control of the factory Porsche Sport Exhaust system.
The factory 992 Turbo uses electronically controlled exhaust valves that progressively change position based on engine load, RPM, drive mode, and other operating conditions. Rather than treating these valves as simple open-or-closed devices, SOUL developed the exhaust specifically around their continuously variable operation.
With the valves open, exhaust flows through a full 3-inch primary path and X-pipe, producing significantly greater turbocharger presence, flat-six character, and overall volume.
As the valves close, exhaust is progressively routed through SOUL's bespoke X-pipe muffler, which uses straight-through perforated tubing, acoustic packing, and an internal crossover to reduce unwanted resonance while maintaining a smooth and sporty exhaust note.
The result is a system that provides a significantly more aggressive sound than factory PSE when desired while retaining the refinement needed for highway cruising, longer trips, and everyday street use.

ELECTRONIC VALVE OPERATION:
The 992.1 Turbo uses electronically controlled exhaust valves rather than the simpler vacuum-operated valves found on many earlier Porsche exhaust systems.
The factory ECU can progressively alter valve position depending on:
Engine load
RPM
Throttle position
Drive mode
Other operating conditions
Even during full-throttle operation in Sport mode, the valves do not necessarily remain completely open at all times.
SOUL developed the Valved Exhaust System around this behavior so that changes in valve position produce a smooth progression in exhaust volume and tone rather than an abrupt transition between quiet and loud.
VALVES OPEN:
With the exhaust valves open, gases are free to flow through the system's 3-inch primary piping and X-pipe.
This provides:
Significantly greater exhaust volume
Increased turbocharger spool sound
Increased turbocharger whistle
Stronger flat-six character
Greater mechanical feedback under acceleration
Higher-pitched exhaust character as RPM increases
A substantially more aggressive sound than factory PSE
Even with the valves open, the secondary exhaust path remains acoustically connected to the muffler section, helping produce a fuller and more developed exhaust tone.
VALVES CLOSED:
As the valves close, more exhaust is directed through SOUL's bespoke X-pipe muffler.
The muffler uses straight-through perforated tubing rather than a highly restrictive chambered design.
Sound energy passes through the perforations into the surrounding acoustic packing while the internal X-pipe blends exhaust pulses from the two cylinder banks.
The result is:
Reduced exterior volume
Smoother exhaust tone
Reduced cabin resonance
Improved highway refinement
Retention of sporty flat-six character
A smooth transition as the electronic valves change position
X-PIPE MUFFLER DESIGN:
SOUL developed its bespoke X-pipe muffler specifically to manage the 992 platform's cruising resonance.
The 992 can develop noticeable drone in approximately the 2,000–2,400 RPM range, particularly as exhaust restriction is reduced and volume increases.
SOUL addresses this with:
Straight-through perforated exhaust tubing
Sound-absorbing muffler packing
An internal X-pipe crossover
The straight-through construction minimizes restriction, while the surrounding packing absorbs unwanted sound energy.
The internal crossover allows the two exhaust banks to communicate, smoothing the tone and helping create a more exotic, higher-pitched exhaust character.
SOUND CHARACTER:
The SOUL Valved Exhaust System is designed to make the 992.1 Turbo considerably more engaging without forcing the car to remain loud at all times.
Expect:
Significantly greater turbocharger presence
Stronger flat-six exhaust character
More mechanical feedback
Increased bass and depth at lower RPM
Higher-pitched character as engine speed rises
Greater sound under acceleration
Smooth changes in volume as the valves operate
Reduced drone during normal cruising
The final sound level depends heavily on the catalytic-converter configuration.
A car retaining the factory catalytic converters will remain more restrained than one equipped with SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters or Cat Bypass Pipes.
WITH FACTORY CATALYTIC CONVERTERS:
The SOUL Valved Exhaust can be installed while retaining the factory catalytic-converter assemblies.
This configuration provides a substantial increase in exhaust and turbocharger sound while retaining the greatest overall level of refinement.
For owners looking for more personality from the 992 Turbo without replacing the catalyst sections, the Valved Exhaust can be installed as a standalone upgrade.
WITH SOUL SPORT CATALYTIC CONVERTERS:
Combining the Valved Exhaust System with SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters creates a substantially more aggressive complete exhaust configuration.
Expect:
Increased turbocharger spool and whistle
Greater overall exhaust volume
Improved exhaust flow
Stronger flat-six character
More pronounced sound with the valves open
Continued ability to reduce exhaust volume through the factory-controlled valves
This combination provides a strong balance between increased performance-oriented sound and everyday usability.
WITH SOUL CAT BYPASS PIPES:
Combining the Valved Exhaust with SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes creates a significantly more aggressive catless exhaust configuration.
Removing the catalytic converters dramatically increases turbocharger and exhaust sound while reducing restriction immediately downstream of the turbochargers.
The valved rear exhaust still provides meaningful control over exhaust volume, but overall sound levels will be considerably higher than with factory or high-flow catalytic converters.
FACTORY PSE INTEGRATION:
The SOUL Valved Exhaust System is designed specifically to work with the 992.1 Turbo's factory Porsche Sport Exhaust electronic valve system.
The original electronic valve actuators are retained and integrated into the SOUL exhaust using the supplied valve adapters.
No separate SOUL remote or standalone valve controller is required for normal operation.
The vehicle continues to control exhaust-valve position through its factory electronics and drive-mode strategy.
EXHAUST TIPS:
The SOUL Valved Exhaust System retains the vehicle's compatible existing rear exhaust-tip arrangement.
There are no separate exhaust-tip selections associated with this product.
No tip variant is required when ordering.
Product Description
The SOUL Performance Exhaust System is designed for Porsche 992.1 Turbo-platform owners looking for maximum exhaust flow, substantially increased turbocharger sound, and an aggressive performance-oriented exhaust character.
Unlike a valved rear exhaust, the SOUL Performance Exhaust uses a single unrestricted flow path built around full 3-inch tubing. Eliminating the quieter secondary path required by a valved system allows SOUL to maximize available exhaust flow and sound throughout the entire RPM range.
Two configurations are available. The Street Performance Exhaust incorporates SOUL's current-production high-flow catalytic converters for owners who want to retain a catted exhaust configuration. The Competition Performance Exhaust completely eliminates the catalytic converters for maximum flow, reduced weight, turbocharger sound, and exhaust volume.
At the center of the system is SOUL's proprietary cast 3-inch X-pipe, which maintains the full internal diameter through the crossover rather than narrowing where the two exhaust banks merge. Two straight-through resonators and tuned Helmholtz anti-drone chambers help refine the tone and reduce unwanted cabin resonance while maintaining the aggressive character expected from a performance-focused 992 Turbo.

NON-VALVED PERFORMANCE DESIGN:
The SOUL Performance Exhaust is specifically designed around a single high-flow exhaust path.
A valved exhaust must incorporate both a louder primary path and a quieter secondary path. Even when the valves are open, the additional architecture can introduce compromises in tubing diameter, exhaust routing, or residual flow through the muffled section.
SOUL eliminates that secondary path entirely.
This allows the Performance Exhaust to maintain a full 3-inch flow path from the catalyst sections through the X-pipe and rear exhaust, maximizing available flow and sound.
This system is particularly well suited to owners prioritizing:
Maximum exhaust flow
Maximum turbocharger sound
Increased performance potential
Aggressive exhaust character
High-horsepower builds
A consistent exhaust note without valve intervention
Owners who prioritize a significantly quieter cruising mode should consider a valved exhaust configuration instead.
3-INCH X-PIPE DESIGN:
The factory 992 Turbo exhaust architecture is limited to approximately 2.75-inch tubing.
SOUL increases the complete Performance Exhaust to a full 3-inch diameter.
Rather than creating the X-pipe by cutting and welding conventional bends together—which can reduce effective internal diameter at the crossover—SOUL uses a cast X-pipe assembly.
The casting allows SOUL to preserve the full 3-inch flow area while lengthening and smoothing the crossover.
Blending the two cylinder banks through the elongated X-pipe helps produce a smoother and higher-pitched exhaust character while maintaining maximum exhaust-flow capacity.
RESONATORS & DRONE CONTROL:
During development, SOUL initially tested four straight-through resonators similar to those used on its earlier 996, 997, and 991 Turbo exhaust systems.
Testing showed that the 992 platform could support additional sound, so the production Performance Exhaust uses two straight-through resonators.
This retains sufficient refinement while allowing more overall exhaust volume to reach the driver.
The 992 platform also develops a natural resonance range around approximately 2,000–2,400 RPM, particularly as exhaust restriction is reduced.
SOUL developed tuned Helmholtz anti-drone chambers specifically around these frequencies.
The chambers substantially reduce unwanted resonance, but SOUL does not claim that drone is completely eliminated. This remains an intentionally aggressive exhaust system.
SOUND CHARACTER:
The SOUL Performance Exhaust dramatically increases the character of the 992.1 Turbo.
Expect:
Significantly greater overall exhaust volume
Increased turbocharger spool
Increased turbocharger whistle
Stronger flat-six exhaust presence
More mechanical feedback
A ripping exhaust growl as RPM increases
A smoother, higher-pitched tone than separated-bank exhaust designs
More pronounced burbles during deceleration in Sport mode
Increased cabin presence
Reduced—but not completely eliminated—drone
The Competition / Catless configuration provides the most dramatic change, with substantially greater turbo whistle and induction-like sound.
The Street / High-Flow Catted configuration retains catalytic converters and provides a somewhat more restrained overall character while remaining substantially more aggressive than the factory exhaust.
STREET PERFORMANCE EXHAUST:
The Street configuration combines the complete 3-inch Performance Exhaust architecture with SOUL's current-production high-flow catalytic converters.
This provides:
Full 3-inch turbo-back exhaust flow
High-flow catalytic converters
Increased turbocharger sound
Increased flat-six exhaust character
Reduced restriction compared with the factory exhaust
Aggressive non-valved sound
A catted exhaust configuration
Current-production catalyst technology developed to avoid catalyst-related check engine lights under normal operating conditions
Earlier SOUL 992 Sport Catalytic Converters used HJS catalyst cores. Current-production systems use an updated performance catalyst that SOUL has extensively tested for sound, performance, and diagnostic compatibility.
COMPETITION PERFORMANCE EXHAUST:
The Competition configuration completely eliminates the catalytic converters.
This provides:
Maximum exhaust flow
Maximum turbocharger sound
Greatest overall exhaust volume
Lowest exhaust restriction
Maximum available weight reduction
Most aggressive flat-six character
The complete Competition system weighs approximately 36.45 lbs, compared with approximately 42.95 lbs for the factory exhaust components.
Approximate weight savings: 6.5 lbs / 2.9 kg
Because the catalytic converters are completely removed, catalyst-related diagnostic trouble codes are possible.
VALVE SIMULATOR BRACKETS:
The factory 992 Turbo uses electronically controlled exhaust-valve actuators.
These actuators cannot simply be unplugged when converting to a non-valved exhaust system. Doing so can cause diagnostic faults and limp mode.
The electronic actuators also cannot simply be removed from the factory mechanical valve bodies and left electrically connected.
SOUL therefore includes dedicated valve simulator brackets.
The brackets provide the factory electronic actuators with mechanical start and stop positions that mimic normal factory valve movement, allowing the vehicle electronics to recognize expected actuator operation even though the SOUL exhaust itself contains no valves.
SOUL designed the supplied brackets to prevent valve-related check engine lights and limp-mode operation.
POWER / DYNO DEVELOPMENT:
SOUL worked with World Motorsports to test a high-output 992 Turbo development vehicle using the Competition Performance Exhaust System.
The development configuration included:
SOUL Competition Performance Exhaust System
Upgraded headers
CSF intercoolers
Upgraded Pure Turbos
M-Engineering ECU calibration
91-octane fuel
On a Mustang dyno, SOUL reports peak gains of approximately:
+206 wheel horsepower
+83 lb-ft of torque
with significant gains throughout the RPM range.
These figures represent the complete modified vehicle package and should not be interpreted as horsepower gains produced by the SOUL exhaust alone.
STREET VS. COMPETITION:
Street – High-Flow Catalytic Converters
Retains catalytic converters
Full 3-inch flow path
Non-valved Performance Exhaust architecture
Increased turbocharger sound
More street-oriented of the two configurations
Current-production catalyst technology
Designed around no catalyst-related CEL under normal operating conditions
Competition – No Catalytic Converters
Completely catless
Full 3-inch flow path
Maximum exhaust flow
Maximum turbocharger and exhaust sound
Approximately 6.5 lbs lighter than the factory exhaust components
Catalyst-related diagnostic codes are possible
Most competition-focused configuration
SPORT CLASSIC / DAKAR COMPATIBILITY:
SOUL specifically includes the 992 Sport Classic and 992 Dakar within the fitment of the Performance Exhaust System.
These models use compatible turbocharged 992 exhaust architecture and do not require separate exhaust-system variants.
US / EUROPEAN MARKET COMPATIBILITY:
US-Market Vehicles
The Performance Exhaust is designed for US-market 992 Turbo-platform vehicles without Gasoline Particulate Filters.
European-Market Vehicles
SOUL states that the system also physically fits applicable European-specification vehicles.
However, European applications must be paired with an appropriate OBD device or ECU calibration to address resulting check engine lights associated with the different emissions hardware and monitoring strategy.
EMISSIONS / USE NOTE:
The Street configuration replaces the original factory catalysts with aftermarket high-flow catalytic converters.
The Competition configuration completely removes the catalytic converters.
This product is not CARB certified and may not be legal for use on emissions-controlled vehicles.
The Competition configuration is intended for closed-course competition use only where required.
Customers are responsible for determining compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations before installation or use.
Product Description
The SOUL Sport Headers are designed for Porsche 992.1 Turbo-platform owners looking to improve exhaust flow, turbocharger response, throttle response, power potential, and sound without compromising ground clearance.
The factory 992 header architecture uses relatively basic exhaust routing into the turbochargers and does not incorporate an optimized merge collector. SOUL replaces this design with equal-length 1.75-inch primary runners feeding purpose-built 3-into-1 merge collectors.
The optimized runner and collector geometry is designed to increase exhaust-gas velocity as the individual cylinder runners converge, delivering exhaust energy to the turbochargers more efficiently and improving boost response.
The factory header outlets also differ significantly from side to side, measuring approximately 1.4 inches and 1.8 inches ID. SOUL increases both outlets to a consistent 2.25-inch ID, substantially increasing available exhaust-flow capacity and making the headers well suited to both stock and higher-output builds.
The SOUL headers weigh approximately 11.4 lbs, compared with approximately 16.9 lbs for the factory components, saving approximately 5.5 lbs / 2.5 kg.

3-INTO-1 MERGE COLLECTOR DESIGN:
The factory 992 Turbo header architecture uses a relatively simple exhaust path into the turbochargers.
SOUL replaces this arrangement with three equal-length 1.75-inch primary runners feeding a purpose-built 3-into-1 merge collector.
The collector geometry is designed to bring the individual exhaust streams together smoothly while maintaining exhaust-gas velocity as they approach the turbocharger.
Rather than simply increasing pipe diameter, SOUL focuses on improving the entire flow path from the exhaust ports through the runners, collector, and turbo inlet.
EQUAL-LENGTH PRIMARY RUNNERS:
SOUL uses equal-length primary runners to create a more consistent exhaust path between each cylinder and the turbocharger.
This helps the individual exhaust pulses arrive at the merge collector in a more controlled manner and improves the overall flow characteristics of the header.
The 1.75-inch runner diameter is designed to balance available exhaust-flow capacity with the gas velocity required for strong turbocharger response.
INCREASED TURBO INLET FLOW:
The factory 992 headers use different outlet diameters from side to side:
Factory outlet 1: approximately 1.4 inches ID
Factory outlet 2: approximately 1.8 inches ID
SOUL increases both header outlets to approximately:
2.25 inches ID
This provides substantially more available flow area entering the turbocharger assemblies and additional capacity for modified or higher-output engines.
TURBO RESPONSE:
Improving exhaust flow before the turbine can directly influence how quickly a turbocharger responds to throttle input.
SOUL's equal-length runners, optimized merge collectors, and larger outlets are designed to deliver exhaust energy into the turbines more efficiently.
The result is:
Quicker boost response
Faster feedback from throttle inputs
Improved engine response
Greater usable power within each gear
Increased flow capacity for higher-output builds
These benefits make the Sport Headers relevant not only to heavily modified cars, but also to otherwise lightly modified Turbo and Turbo S models where responsiveness is a priority.
SOUND CHARACTER:
The SOUL Sport Headers also increase the mechanical and turbocharged character of the 992.1 Turbo exhaust system.
Expect:
Greater turbocharger presence
Increased mechanical exhaust character
Sharper response to throttle inputs
Stronger engine tone under load
More audible exhaust character when paired with freer-flowing catalyst sections or rear exhaust components
The final volume depends heavily on the remainder of the exhaust configuration.
A vehicle retaining the factory catalytic converters and rear exhaust will remain considerably more restrained than one equipped with SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters, Cat Bypass Pipes, or a complete aftermarket rear exhaust.
CATALYTIC CONVERTERS / CHECK ENGINE LIGHT:
The factory catalytic converters are not integrated into the header assemblies.
Installing the SOUL Sport Headers therefore does not remove or modify the catalytic converters.
Because the catalyst and oxygen-sensor monitoring systems remain intact, SOUL states that no check engine light is expected from installation of the headers themselves.
The headers can therefore be used with:
Factory catalytic converters
SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters
SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes for appropriate competition applications
Diagnostic behavior associated with an aftermarket catalyst or catless component will depend on that separate component rather than the headers themselves.
SPORT CLASSIC COMPATIBILITY:
The SOUL Sport Headers are compatible with the 992 Sport Classic.
The Sport Classic uses a Turbo-derived twin-turbocharged powertrain and compatible header architecture, allowing the same SOUL header assemblies to be used without requiring a dedicated Sport Classic version.
No separate Sport Classic variant is required when ordering.
DAKAR COMPATIBILITY:
The SOUL Sport Headers are also compatible with the 992 Dakar.
Although the Dakar uses a different engine specification and vehicle configuration from the Turbo and Turbo S, SOUL specifically includes the Dakar within the fitment of these headers.
No separate Dakar header configuration is required.
Product Description
The SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes are designed for Porsche 992.1 Turbo-platform owners looking for maximum exhaust flow, substantially increased turbocharger sound, sharper throttle response, and a significantly more aggressive flat-six exhaust character.
The factory catalytic-converter assemblies are replaced with unrestricted stainless steel bypass pipes, eliminating one of the most significant exhaust restrictions immediately downstream of the turbochargers. The freer exhaust path allows considerably more turbocharger spool, whistle, engine note, and exhaust crackle to reach the driver while improving turbo response and drivability.
SOUL constructs each Cat Bypass Pipe from mandrel-bent 2.5-inch-diameter, .065-inch-wall T304L stainless steel tubing with CNC-cut flanges, laser-cut brackets, retained factory-style mounting points, and accurately positioned oxygen-sensor locations.
For performance-focused 992.1 Turbo builds, the Cat Bypass Pipes provide SOUL's least restrictive catalyst-section configuration.

CATLESS DESIGN:
The factory catalytic converters create substantial restriction immediately downstream of the 992 Turbo's turbochargers.
SOUL replaces these assemblies with unrestricted stainless steel bypass pipes, completely eliminating the catalyst cores and providing a much freer path for exhaust gases leaving the turbine housings.
Reducing post-turbine restriction helps the turbochargers move exhaust gases more efficiently and allows substantially more of their natural spool and whistle to pass through the exhaust system.
The result is a more responsive and engaging turbocharged Porsche with significantly greater engine and turbo character.
SOUND CHARACTER:
Removing the factory catalytic converters produces one of the most dramatic sound changes available for the 992.1 Turbo platform.
Expect:
Significantly increased turbocharger spool sound
More audible turbo whistle
Stronger flat-six exhaust presence
Greater mechanical character under acceleration
More pronounced crackles during deceleration
Increased overall exhaust volume
A significantly more aggressive character under boost
The final volume depends heavily on the downstream exhaust configuration.
With the factory PSE rear exhaust retained, the valves continue to provide some control over overall exhaust volume.
Combining the Cat Bypass Pipes with additional freer-flowing rear exhaust components will produce an even more aggressive complete exhaust configuration.
TURBO RESPONSE / DRIVABILITY:
Reducing restriction directly after the turbochargers can improve how quickly exhaust gases leave the turbine housings.
SOUL developed the Cat Bypass Pipes to improve:
Turbocharger response
Throttle response
Exhaust-gas flow
Overall drivability
Performance potential on tuned applications
The benefit becomes increasingly relevant as power output and exhaust-gas mass flow increase.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT:
Because the SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes completely remove the factory catalytic converters, catalyst-efficiency-related diagnostic trouble codes and a check engine light are possible.
SOUL recommends an appropriate custom ECU calibration for track-use vehicles when catalyst-monitoring functions need to be addressed.
Customers should assume that catalyst-related fault codes are possible when installing this product.
PSE COMPATIBILITY:
This configuration is intended for vehicles equipped with the compatible Porsche Sport Exhaust / PSE exhaust architecture.
The Cat Bypass Pipes replace the upstream catalytic-converter assemblies and do not remove the downstream PSE muffler or valve system.
Factory exhaust-valve functionality is therefore retained after installation.
SPORT CLASSIC / DAKAR COMPATIBILITY:
SOUL specifically lists the US-model 992 Sport Classic and Dakar as compatible applications for these Cat Bypass Pipes.
These models share compatible turbocharged 992 exhaust architecture with the PSE-equipped Turbo application and do not require separate Cat Bypass Pipe variants.
CAT BYPASS VS. SPORT CATALYTIC CONVERTERS:
The SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes completely eliminate the factory catalysts for maximum flow and the most aggressive sound.
The SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters replace the restrictive factory catalysts with freer-flowing performance catalysts while retaining a catted configuration.

Product Description
The SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters are designed for Porsche 992.1 Turbo owners looking for one of the most impactful exhaust upgrades available for the twin-turbocharged flat-six.
The factory 992 Turbo uses highly restrictive 700-cell catalytic converters that significantly suppress turbocharger sound and create substantial exhaust restriction immediately downstream of the turbochargers. SOUL replaces these assemblies with high-flow performance catalytic converters designed to increase exhaust flow while retaining a catted configuration.
The increased flow allows considerably more turbocharger spool and whistle to come through the exhaust while producing a stronger, throatier engine note. Reduced post-turbine restriction also improves turbo response and overall drivability.
Current-production SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters use an updated performance catalyst extensively tested by SOUL to provide the desired sound and performance improvements without triggering a catalyst-related check engine light under normal operating conditions.

WHY UPGRADE THE FACTORY CATALYTIC CONVERTERS?
The factory catalytic converters are one of the major exhaust restrictions on the 992.1 Turbo platform.
Porsche's original 700-cell catalyst cores provide substantial emissions performance and sound attenuation, but they also restrict exhaust flow immediately downstream of the turbochargers.
Replacing them with SOUL's freer-flowing performance catalysts allows exhaust gases to leave the turbine housings more efficiently.
The result is:
Increased turbocharger sound
Greater turbo whistle
Improved turbo response
Stronger engine character
Increased exhaust presence under load
Improved drivability
Retention of a catted exhaust configuration
For owners who want to significantly increase the character of the 992 Turbo without moving to a completely catless exhaust, the Sport Catalytic Converters target one of the most restrictive components in the factory system.
SOUND CHARACTER:
The SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters dramatically increase the amount of turbocharger sound that reaches the driver.
Expect:
Significantly more audible turbo spool
Increased turbocharger whistle
A throatier flat-six exhaust note
Greater engine presence under acceleration
More mechanical character
Increased exhaust volume under load
Stronger sound when combined with an aftermarket rear exhaust
With the factory rear exhaust retained, the Sport Catalytic Converters provide a meaningful increase in character while maintaining much of the vehicle's original refinement.
Combining them with a SOUL Valved Exhaust, X-Pipe, or Performance Exhaust creates a substantially more aggressive complete system.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT:
Current-production SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters use an updated performance catalyst that SOUL has extensively tested on the 992 platform.
SOUL states that these current-production units are designed to deliver increased flow, sound, and performance without triggering a check engine light under normal operating conditions.
Vehicle condition, oxygen-sensor condition, ECU software, fuel quality, and additional modifications can still influence diagnostic behavior.
IMPORTANT PREVIOUS-GENERATION CATALYST NOTE:
Earlier SOUL 992 Sport Catalytic Converters used HJS catalyst cores.
SOUL states that some 2021 and newer 992 models equipped with those previous-generation HJS Sport Catalytic Converters may produce a check engine light.
Current-production units use a different performance catalyst that SOUL has extensively tested to meet its current sound, performance, and diagnostic targets.
The current DasMotoring listing is for current-production SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters.
PSE COMPATIBILITY:
This product uses SOUL part number POR.992TPSE.SCC and is intended for the applicable 992 Turbo exhaust architecture.
The Sport Catalytic Converters replace the upstream catalyst assemblies without eliminating the downstream Porsche Sport Exhaust valve system.
Factory exhaust-valve functionality is therefore retained when used with the compatible PSE rear exhaust configuration.
SPORT CLASSIC / DAKAR COMPATIBILITY:
SOUL specifically lists the 992 Sport Classic and 992 Dakar among the US-market applications for these Sport Catalytic Converters.
Both models use compatible turbocharged 992 exhaust architecture, allowing the same high-flow catalyst assemblies to be used without creating separate product variants.
SPORT CATALYTIC CONVERTERS VS. CAT BYPASS PIPES:
The SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters retain catalyst cores while substantially reducing restriction compared with the factory components.
The SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes eliminate the catalysts completely.
Sport Catalytic Converters
Retain catalytic converters
More street-oriented configuration
Increased exhaust flow
Increased turbocharger sound
Improved turbo response
No-CEL design intent under normal operating conditions
Cat Bypass Pipes
Completely catless
Maximum exhaust flow
Maximum turbocharger sound

EMISSIONS NOTE:
The SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters replace the original factory catalytic converters with aftermarket high-flow catalysts.
Retaining catalytic converters does not necessarily make an aftermarket emissions component legal for use on public roads in every jurisdiction.
The system is not CARB certified.
Customers are responsible for determining compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations before installation or use.
