TIP FINISH OPTIONS:

Signature Satin

SOUL's Signature Satin finish provides a clean, understated natural-stainless appearance that complements the original styling of the 997.2 Turbo while adding the more aggressive GT2-inspired outlet shape.

Because Signature Satin is an uncoated stainless-steel finish, repeated heat cycles can gradually produce a golden heat tint.

Brushed

The Brushed finish retains the natural T321 stainless-steel construction while adding a more mechanical, motorsport-oriented surface finish.

Like Signature Satin, the uncoated stainless steel can gradually develop golden or bronze heat coloration with use.

Satin Black

The Satin Black configuration uses a durable PVD coating over the stainless-steel construction for a darker and more aggressive appearance.

The coated finish also provides a different long-term appearance than the natural stainless versions, which develop visible heat coloration over time.

INSTALLATION / ALIGNMENT:

Installation is straightforward and does not require modification of the exhaust system.

Each tip incorporates an internal alignment ring that provides movement during installation. This allows the installer to position the left and right exhaust outlets evenly within the bumper openings before tightening the supplied clamps.

The tips are secured using Mikalor Supra Heavy-Duty W4 clamps, eliminating the need for welding.

HEAT COLORATION:

The Signature Satin and Brushed configurations use exposed natural stainless steel.

Over time, exhaust heat can cause these finishes to develop a golden or bronze hue. This is a normal characteristic of stainless steel exposed to high exhaust temperatures and does not indicate a material defect.

Customers wanting a darker coated appearance should select the Satin Black configuration.

Product Description

3-INCH CATLESS DESIGN:

The factory catalytic converters create a significant restriction immediately downstream of the 997.2 Turbo's turbochargers.

SOUL replaces these assemblies with unrestricted 3-inch stainless steel piping, providing a substantially freer path for exhaust gases leaving the turbine housings.

Reducing restriction in this portion of a turbocharged exhaust system allows exhaust gases to exit the turbines more efficiently while exposing considerably more turbocharger sound.

The result is a more responsive and engaging exhaust configuration with significantly greater turbo presence.

SOUND CHARACTER:

Removing the factory catalytic converters creates one of the most noticeable sound changes available for the 997.2 Turbo.

Expect:

• Significantly increased turbocharger spool sound

• Stronger flat-six exhaust presence

• Greater mechanical character under acceleration

• More pronounced exhaust crackles during deceleration

• Increased exhaust volume throughout the RPM range

• A more aggressive overall character

The final volume depends heavily on the rear exhaust configuration.

When paired with the factory rear exhaust, the Cat Bypass Pipes provide a substantial increase in sound while retaining some factory sound attenuation.

Pairing the Cat Bypass Pipes with the SOUL X-Pipe creates a considerably more aggressive complete catless exhaust system.

WEIGHT REDUCTION:

Factory catalytic-converter assemblies: approximately 16 lbs

SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes: approximately 6 lbs

Total weight savings: approximately 10 lbs / 4.5 kg

This represents a significant reduction in exhaust-system mass from a relatively small pair of components.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT:

Because the SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes completely remove the factory catalytic converters, catalyst-efficiency-related diagnostic trouble codes and a check engine light are possible.

SOUL reports that its development vehicle did not trigger a check engine light during testing, but specifically notes that this result cannot be guaranteed across all vehicles.

Optional O2 sensor spacers are available to reduce the likelihood of triggering catalyst-efficiency-related fault codes.

O2 sensor spacers should not be considered a guarantee against a check engine light.

For competition vehicles, an appropriate ECU calibration may also be used to address catalyst-monitoring functions.

O2 SPACER OPTION:

The SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes are available with or without O2 sensor spacers.

No O2 Spacers

The standard configuration includes the Cat Bypass Pipes without additional oxygen-sensor spacers.

This configuration is appropriate for vehicles using an ECU calibration that addresses catalyst monitoring or for customers planning to manage catalyst-related diagnostics separately.

Add O2 Spacers

Adds SOUL O2 sensor spacers intended to reduce the likelihood of catalyst-efficiency-related fault codes after removal of the factory catalytic converters.

The O2 spacer option adds $60.00.

CAT BYPASS VS. SPORT CATALYTIC CONVERTERS:

The SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes completely eliminate the factory catalytic converters for the least restrictive exhaust path, maximum weight reduction, and the most aggressive sound.

The SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters retain high-flow catalysts while still reducing restriction and increasing turbocharger sound.

Cat Bypass Pipes

• Completely catless

• Maximum exhaust flow

• Approximately 10 lbs of weight savings

• Maximum turbocharger sound

• More aggressive exhaust character

• Catalyst-related fault codes are possible

Sport Catalytic Converters

• Retain catalytic converters

• More street-oriented configuration

• Approximately 4.4 lbs of weight savings

• Increased turbocharger sound and throttle response

• No-CEL design intent under normal operating conditions

EMISSIONS / COMPETITION USE NOTE:

HIGH-FLOW CATALYTIC CONVERTERS:

The factory catalytic converters represent a significant restriction within the 997.2 Turbo exhaust system.

SOUL replaces these components with freer-flowing HJS catalytic converters designed to provide substantially greater exhaust-flow capacity while retaining catalyst functionality.

Reducing restriction immediately downstream of the turbochargers allows exhaust gases to leave the turbine housings more efficiently, helping improve throttle response and allowing more turbocharger sound to come through the exhaust.

Unlike a completely catless configuration, the Sport Catalytic Converters retain dedicated catalyst cores and are designed around improved street usability.

SOUND CHARACTER:

Installing the SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters increases both turbocharger and exhaust presence without creating the same dramatic volume increase associated with a completely catless system.

Expect:

• Increased turbocharger sound

• Greater exhaust presence under acceleration

• Sharper response to throttle inputs

• Stronger flat-six character

• Additional pops and burbles depending on the vehicle's remaining exhaust configuration and ECU calibration

The final volume depends heavily on the remainder of the exhaust system.

Paired with the factory rear exhaust, the Sport Catalytic Converters provide a relatively restrained increase in character.

Pairing them with the SOUL X-Pipe produces a substantially more aggressive complete exhaust configuration while retaining catalytic converters.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT:

SOUL developed the Sport Catalytic Converters specifically to provide increased exhaust flow without triggering a catalyst-efficiency-related check engine light under normal operating conditions.

The high-quality HJS catalysts retain the functionality required by the vehicle's catalyst-monitoring system while flowing more efficiently than the factory components.

Vehicle condition, oxygen-sensor condition, ECU software, fuel quality, and other modifications can influence diagnostic behavior, so no aftermarket exhaust component should be interpreted as an absolute guarantee against unrelated fault codes.

SPORT CATALYTIC CONVERTERS VS. FACTORY:

Factory Catalytic Converters

• Factory emissions configuration

• Greater exhaust restriction

• Approximately 16 lbs

• Quieter turbocharger and exhaust character

SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters

• High-flow HJS catalysts

• Reduced exhaust restriction

• Approximately 11.6 lbs

• Approximately 4.4 lbs lighter

• Increased turbocharger sound

• Improved throttle response

• Designed for no catalyst-related CEL under normal operation

SPORT CATALYTIC CONVERTERS VS. CAT BYPASS PIPES:

The SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters retain catalyst cores while increasing exhaust flow, sound, and response.

The SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes completely eliminate the catalytic converters for the least restrictive exhaust path and a more aggressive competition-oriented configuration.

Sport Catalytic Converters

• Retain catalytic converters

• More street-oriented configuration

SOUL identifies the product as intended for off-road use only where required by applicable emissions regulations.

Customers are responsible for determining compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations before installation or use.

Product Description

The SOUL X-Pipe Exhaust is designed for Porsche 997.2 Turbo and Turbo S owners who want a substantial increase in exhaust and turbocharger sound while retaining the factory catalytic converter sections.

Rather than replacing the complete exhaust system, the SOUL X-Pipe replaces the factory rear exhaust section with a freer-flowing 3-inch stainless steel system incorporating SOUL's proprietary X-pipe and mixing-chamber design.

SOUL developed the system with both sound quality and high-horsepower capability in mind. The 3-inch architecture reduces unnecessary exhaust restriction, while the X-pipe mixing chamber is designed to improve exhaust-gas velocity downstream of the crossover.

Four straight-through race resonators help control unwanted resonance and drone while allowing substantially more turbocharger sound, flat-six character, pops, and burbles to reach the driver.

Because the factory catalytic converter sections remain in place, the SOUL X-Pipe provides a straightforward way to make the 997.2 Turbo considerably more engaging without moving immediately to aftermarket sport catalysts or a completely catless exhaust configuration.

X-PIPE / MIXING-CHAMBER DESIGN:

SOUL developed the 997.2 Turbo X-Pipe around a proprietary crossover and mixing chamber rather than simply replacing the factory exhaust with larger straight tubing.

During development, SOUL analyzed exhaust behavior using 3D CAD software across a range of pressure and temperature conditions.

The resulting design showed increased exhaust-gas velocity downstream of the mixing chamber while reducing unnecessary backpressure.

Combined with the full 3-inch tubing, this provides substantial exhaust-flow capacity for both stock and modified 997.2 Turbo applications.

RETAINS FACTORY CATALYTIC CONVERTERS:

Unlike the SOUL Sport X-Pipe and Competition X-Pipe systems, this exhaust is specifically designed to retain the factory catalytic converter sections.

This makes it an excellent modular starting point for owners who want more exhaust sound and improved flow while leaving the original catalyst assemblies in place.

Because the catalyst sections are separate from the X-Pipe, they can also be upgraded later without replacing the rear exhaust again.

Compatible configurations can include:

• Factory catalytic converter sections

• SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters

• SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes for appropriate competition applications

This modular architecture allows the exhaust system to evolve with the vehicle.

SOUND CHARACTER:

The SOUL X-Pipe provides a substantial increase in both engine and turbocharger sound while remaining more refined than a complete catted or catless aftermarket exhaust system.

Expect:

• Increased turbocharger wail

• Stronger flat-six exhaust presence

• Greater mechanical character

• More pronounced pops and burbles on deceleration

• Increased sound under acceleration

• Refined cruising behavior

• Minimal unwanted drone

SOUL describes the resulting character as the OEM+ exhaust note the 997.2 Turbo should have had from the factory.

The factory catalytic converters continue to provide considerable sound attenuation, making this the mildest of SOUL's primary 997.2 Turbo X-Pipe configurations.

MODULAR EXHAUST DESIGN:

One of the major advantages of the SOUL X-Pipe is its modularity.

Owners can initially install the X-Pipe while retaining the factory catalytic converters and later upgrade the catalyst sections if greater sound and exhaust flow are desired.

Factory Catalytic Converters + SOUL X-Pipe

Provides an OEM+ increase in sound while retaining the original catalyst assemblies.

SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters + SOUL X-Pipe

Provides additional exhaust flow, turbo sound, and overall volume while retaining catalytic converters.

SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes + SOUL X-Pipe

Creates a significantly more aggressive catless configuration intended for appropriate competition applications.

This allows customers to progressively modify the vehicle without purchasing an entirely new rear exhaust system each time.

X-PIPE VS. SPORT X-PIPE VS. COMPETITION X-PIPE:

SOUL X-Pipe Exhaust

• Retains factory catalytic converters

• Lowest sound increase of the three systems

• OEM+ exhaust character

• Full 3-inch X-pipe

300-CELL SPORT CATALYTIC CONVERTERS:

The Sport X-Pipe retains catalytic converters while substantially increasing exhaust-flow capacity compared with the factory system.

SOUL uses proprietary 300-cell high-flow catalytic converters featuring a custom-specified precious-metal catalyst coating and a durable triple metal-matrix core.

These converters are designed to provide the flow capacity required by a modified turbocharged engine while retaining catalyst functionality.

The Sport X-Pipe is therefore the more street-oriented complete exhaust option for owners who want significant improvements in sound and flow without moving to a completely catless exhaust system.

X-PIPE / MIXING-CHAMBER DESIGN:

SOUL developed the system around a proprietary X-pipe and mixing chamber rather than simply replacing the factory exhaust with larger straight tubing.

During development, SOUL analyzed the exhaust path using 3D CAD software across varying pressure and temperature conditions.

The resulting geometry produced an increase in exhaust-gas velocity downstream of the mixing chamber while reducing backpressure.

The full 3-inch piping provides the flow capacity needed for higher-output applications, while the crossover arrangement also contributes to the system's distinctive exhaust character.

SOUND CHARACTER:

The SOUL Sport X-Pipe is designed to provide a substantial increase in sound without sacrificing the refinement expected from a street-driven 997.2 Turbo.

Expect:

• Increased turbocharger wail

• Greater flat-six exhaust presence

• More aggressive sound during heavy throttle

• More pronounced pops and burbles during deceleration

• Increased mechanical character

• Mild and sporty exhaust presence during normal cruising

• Reduced unwanted drone compared with a simple straight-through exhaust

The four race resonators play an important role in controlling unwanted frequencies while allowing the high-flow catalytic converters and 3-inch exhaust architecture to transmit considerably more engine and turbocharger sound.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT:

The SOUL Sport X-Pipe is designed to provide increased exhaust flow and performance without triggering catalyst-efficiency-related check engine lights under normal operating conditions.

The integrated 300-cell catalytic converters retain catalyst functionality while flowing substantially more exhaust than the original components.

As with any modified vehicle, oxygen-sensor condition, ECU software, additional modifications, and overall vehicle condition can influence diagnostic behavior. The no-CEL design intent should not be interpreted as a guarantee against unrelated diagnostic faults.

SPORT VS. COMPETITION X-PIPE:

The SOUL Sport X-Pipe retains high-flow catalytic converters and is designed for customers looking for increased performance, sound, and flow while maintaining a catted exhaust configuration.

The SOUL Competition X-Pipe completely eliminates the catalytic converters for the least restrictive exhaust path and a more aggressive competition-oriented configuration.

X-PIPE / MIXING-CHAMBER DESIGN:

SOUL developed the 997.2 Turbo Competition Exhaust around a proprietary X-pipe and mixing chamber rather than simply replacing the factory system with larger straight tubing.

During development, SOUL evaluated the exhaust path using 3D CAD analysis across varying pressure and temperature conditions.

The mixing-chamber configuration was developed to increase exhaust-gas velocity downstream of the crossover while reducing unnecessary backpressure.

Combined with the full 3-inch tubing, the system provides the flow capacity required for modified and high-output 997.2 Turbo applications.

SOUND CHARACTER:

The Competition X-Pipe substantially changes the character of the 997.2 Turbo.

Expect:

• Greater overall exhaust volume

• Significantly increased turbocharger presence

• A stronger flat-six engine note

• More pronounced pops and burbles during deceleration

• More mechanical character under acceleration

• Increased exhaust presence inside the cabin

SOUL specifically developed the system to provide an aggressive exhaust note without excessive drone. The four straight-through race resonators help control unwanted frequencies while retaining the freer-flowing character of the catless system.

POWER / DYNO DEVELOPMENT:

SOUL performed third-party testing at R/T Tuning using a Mustang Dyno.

A vehicle equipped with the SOUL Competition X-Pipe Exhaust System and a COBB off-the-shelf calibration recorded:

554 WHP / 642 lb-ft of torque

After receiving a custom calibration, the vehicle recorded:

562 WHP / 631 lb-ft of torque

SOUL reported significant improvements through the midrange and toward redline with the custom calibration.

These figures should not be interpreted as an exhaust-only horsepower gain. The testing combined the SOUL exhaust with ECU calibrations, and SOUL does not publish a controlled stock-exhaust-versus-SOUL-exhaust dyno comparison for this product.

CATLESS CONFIGURATION / CHECK ENGINE LIGHT:

The SOUL Competition X-Pipe completely removes the factory catalytic converters.

Removal of the catalytic converters can result in catalyst-efficiency-related diagnostic trouble codes and a check engine light.

Vehicles using this system for competition purposes may require an appropriate ECU calibration depending on the vehicle's existing software and other modifications.

Customers should not assume that installation of the exhaust alone will prevent catalyst-related fault codes.

COMPETITION VS. CATTED EXHAUST:

The Competition X-Pipe is SOUL's more aggressive complete exhaust configuration for the 997.2 Turbo platform.

Competition X-Pipe

• Completely catless

• Maximum exhaust flow

• Greater weight reduction

• More aggressive sound

• Greater turbocharger presence

• Catalyst-related fault codes are possible

SOUL also offers catted exhaust configurations for owners who want increased exhaust flow and sound while retaining catalytic converters.

EXHAUST TIP OPTIONS:

DasMotoring offers all current exhaust-tip configurations available for the 997.2 Turbo Competition X-Pipe.

Product Description

The SOUL Long Tube Street Headers are designed for Porsche 997.2 Carrera owners looking for improved exhaust flow, throttle response, power potential, and a stronger naturally aspirated flat-six exhaust note while retaining catalytic converters.

The factory 997.2 header assemblies are constrained by mass-production requirements, compact runner geometry, and catalyst packaging. SOUL developed a dedicated long-tube architecture around correctly sized primary runners, smoother exhaust transitions, performance-oriented collectors, and large-diameter high-flow catalytic converters.

Longer primary runners improve the exhaust path from the cylinder heads into the collectors, while carefully shaped collector spikes help smooth the transition as the individual runners converge. SOUL specifically developed the system around the higher-output 3.8L DFI engine while also providing meaningful improvements for the 3.6L Carrera engine.

Unlike the catless Competition Headers, the Street Headers retain catalytic converters, making them the more street-oriented option for owners who want the benefits of SOUL's long-tube design without completely eliminating the catalyst system.

LONG-TUBE HEADER DESIGN:

The factory 997.2 Carrera header assemblies must balance emissions requirements, manufacturing cost, packaging space, durability, and noise control.

SOUL developed a dedicated long-tube configuration around the performance characteristics of the direct-injected 3.6L and 3.8L naturally aspirated flat-six engines.

The longer primary runners provide a more deliberate path between the cylinder heads and collectors, while correctly sized tubing helps maintain exhaust-gas velocity rather than simply maximizing pipe diameter.

At the collectors, carefully shaped spikes help guide the individual exhaust streams together more smoothly, reducing abrupt changes in the exhaust path.

SOUL specifically focused development on extracting additional performance from the 3.8L engine, while noting that the same architecture also produces meaningful gains on the 3.6L.

HIGH-FLOW CATALYTIC CONVERTERS:

Unlike the SOUL Long Tube Competition Headers, the Street Headers retain catalytic converters.

The high-flow catalysts allow SOUL to substantially improve the surrounding header geometry while maintaining a catted exhaust configuration.

This makes the Street Headers particularly attractive for owners who want:

• Long-tube header performance

• Improved exhaust flow

• Sharper throttle response

• Increased naturally aspirated flat-six sound

• A catted exhaust configuration

The Street Headers therefore provide a middle ground between the restrictive factory assemblies and completely catless Competition Headers.

SOUND CHARACTER:

The SOUL Long Tube Street Headers increase the presence and character of the 997.2's naturally aspirated DFI flat-six without removing the catalytic converters entirely.

Expect:

• Greater flat-six presence throughout the rev range

• Sharper exhaust response to throttle inputs

• Increased mechanical engine character

• Stronger high-RPM exhaust tone

• Additional volume under load

• A more pronounced exhaust note when combined with aftermarket center or side muffler components

The final volume will depend heavily on the remainder of the exhaust system.

A vehicle retaining factory mufflers will remain substantially more restrained than one combining the Street Headers with a SOUL Center Muffler Bypass, Sport Side Mufflers, or Valved Exhaust System.

GTS COMPATIBILITY:

The SOUL Long Tube Street Headers are compatible with the 997.2 Carrera GTS and Carrera 4 GTS.

The GTS models use the 3.8L DFI engine and were equipped with Porsche Sport Exhaust from the factory.

Because the Street Headers replace the upstream header and catalytic-converter assemblies, they do not remove the downstream PSE side mufflers or their valve hardware.

A GTS can therefore use the SOUL Street Headers while retaining factory Porsche Sport Exhaust valve functionality.

STREET VS. COMPETITION HEADERS:

The SOUL Long Tube Street Headers retain high-flow catalytic converters and are intended for owners looking for improved exhaust flow, response, and sound while maintaining a catted configuration.

The SOUL Long Tube Competition Headers eliminate the catalytic converters entirely for the least restrictive exhaust path, greater weight reduction, and a more aggressive overall configuration.

Street Headers

• Retain catalytic converters

• More street-oriented configuration

• Long-tube architecture

• Increased flow and response

• Increased flat-six sound

Competition Headers

• Completely catless

• Maximum exhaust flow

• Approximately 7.25 lbs of published weight savings

• More aggressive exhaust character

• Catalyst-related fault codes are possible

EMISSIONS NOTE:

The SOUL Long Tube Street Headers replace the original factory catalytic-converter assemblies with aftermarket high-flow catalytic converters.

Retaining catalytic converters does not necessarily make an aftermarket header system legal for use on emissions-controlled vehicles in every jurisdiction.

The system is not CARB certified, and customers are responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations before installation or use.

Product Description

The SOUL Long Tube Competition Headers are designed for Porsche 997.2 Carrera owners seeking maximum exhaust flow, reduced weight, sharper engine response, and a substantially more aggressive naturally aspirated flat-six exhaust character.

The factory 997.2 exhaust manifolds must package the primary runners, collectors, and catalytic converters into a relatively compact assembly. SOUL replaces the complete factory header and catalyst assemblies with a purpose-built long-tube system featuring smoother transitions, large-radius primary tubing, port-matched flanges, and performance-oriented collectors.

Longer primary runners and optimized collector geometry provide a freer exhaust path from the cylinder heads into the downstream exhaust system. By completely eliminating the factory catalytic converters, the Competition Headers provide SOUL's least restrictive header configuration for the 997.2 Carrera platform.

The factory header assemblies weigh approximately 25.7 lbs, while the SOUL Competition Headers weigh approximately 18.45 lbs, saving approximately 7.25 lbs / 3.2 kg.

For owners building a performance-focused street or track 997.2, the SOUL Long Tube Competition Headers provide a substantial upgrade in flow, response, sound, and weight reduction.

LONG-TUBE HEADER DESIGN:

The factory 997.2 Carrera exhaust manifolds must package the primary runners, collectors, and catalytic converters within a relatively confined space.

SOUL's Competition Headers remove those packaging constraints by eliminating the factory catalysts and replacing the original manifolds with a dedicated long-tube architecture.

The individual primary runners use smooth-radius bends before transitioning into performance-oriented collectors. This provides a more direct and less restrictive path between the cylinder heads and downstream exhaust system.

On a naturally aspirated engine, primary-runner length, diameter, and collector geometry all influence the way exhaust pulses travel through the system. SOUL developed the Competition Headers around these principles rather than simply increasing pipe diameter.

SOUND CHARACTER:

Removing the factory catalytic converters and replacing the original manifolds with long-tube headers creates a substantial change in exhaust character.

Expect:

• Increased overall exhaust volume

• Greater mechanical flat-six presence

• Sharper response to throttle inputs

• Stronger high-RPM exhaust character

• A more aggressive naturally aspirated tone

• Significantly greater volume when combined with additional aftermarket exhaust components

The final sound level depends heavily on the remainder of the exhaust system.

A vehicle retaining factory side mufflers will remain considerably more restrained than a car combining these headers with SOUL Sport Side Mufflers, a Center Muffler Bypass, or a Valved Exhaust System.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT:

Because the SOUL Competition Headers completely remove the factory catalytic converters, catalyst-efficiency-related fault codes and a check engine light are possible.

SOUL offers optional O2 sensor spacers intended to reduce the likelihood of catalyst-related fault codes.

O2 sensor spacers should not be considered a guarantee against a check engine light.

Vehicles configured for track use may also use an appropriate ECU calibration to address catalyst-monitoring functions and optimize the engine calibration for the freer-flowing exhaust system.

O2 SPACER OPTION:

The SOUL Long Tube Competition Headers are available with or without O2 sensor spacers.

No O2 Spacers

Recommended for vehicles using an appropriate ECU calibration or for owners who plan to address catalyst-related diagnostics separately.

Add O2 Spacers

Adds SOUL O2 sensor spacers intended to reduce the likelihood of catalyst-efficiency fault codes after removal of the factory catalytic converters.

The O2 spacer option adds $120.00.

GTS COMPATIBILITY:

The SOUL Long Tube Competition Headers are compatible with the 997.2 Carrera GTS and Carrera 4 GTS.

The GTS models were equipped with Porsche Sport Exhaust from the factory, but the PSE valves are located within the downstream rear exhaust system.

Because the Competition Headers replace the upstream header and catalytic-converter assemblies, the factory PSE side mufflers and exhaust-valve functionality can remain in place.

This allows GTS owners to substantially increase exhaust flow and sound while retaining the factory ability to control the rear exhaust valves.

EMISSIONS / USE NOTE:

The SOUL Long Tube Competition Headers completely remove the factory catalytic converters.

This product is intended for off-road / competition use only where required by applicable emissions regulations.

The system is not CARB certified and may not be legal for use on emissions-controlled vehicles.

Customers are responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations before installation or use.

Product Description

The SOUL Sport Side Mufflers are designed for Porsche 997.2 Carrera owners looking for a deeper, more aggressive naturally aspirated flat-six exhaust note while maintaining the refinement expected from a street-driven 911.

Rather than using a conventional straight-through performance muffler, SOUL developed a hybrid talk-tube design. Dedicated crossover passages connect the piping before and after the mufflers, allowing a portion of the exhaust energy to bypass the primary muffling path during moderate and aggressive throttle. The result is a throatier, more engaging exhaust note under load without the harshness and excessive volume associated with a full muffler bypass.

During steady-state cruising, the primary mufflers provide substantial sound attenuation to keep the cabin refined and control unwanted resonance. This gives the Sport Side Mufflers an OEM+ character that works especially well for owners who want more feedback from the 997.2 without turning the car into an overly loud exhaust build.

The system weighs approximately 31.2 lbs, compared with approximately 34.8 lbs for the factory components, reducing rear exhaust weight by approximately 3.6 lbs / 1.5 kg. Construction consists of mandrel-bent 2.25-inch, .065-inch-wall T304L stainless steel tubing, bespoke SOUL mufflers, and laser-cut mounting brackets.

HYBRID TALK-TUBE DESIGN:

The defining feature of the SOUL Sport Side Mufflers is the talk-tube system.

Instead of forcing 100% of the exhaust flow through a conventional muffler path, SOUL connects the exhaust piping before and after each muffler with an additional passage. This allows some exhaust energy to communicate around the primary muffling section as engine load increases.

Under light throttle and highway cruising, the system maintains the refinement expected from a muffled exhaust.

Apply more throttle and the additional exhaust communication produces a stronger, throatier flat-six tone without the raw character of a complete muffler bypass.

The result sits between the factory exhaust and a substantially more aggressive bypass system.

SOUND CHARACTER:

The Sport Side Mufflers are aimed at customers who want more Porsche flat-six sound without making the car obnoxious.

Expect:

• Deeper exhaust tone

• Greater engine presence under acceleration

• More character at moderate and aggressive throttle

• Increased high-RPM flat-six sound

• Refined highway cruising

• Minimal unwanted drone

• Less harshness than a complete muffler bypass

SOUL specifically positions the Sport Side Mufflers as the more refined choice compared with the Center Muffler Bypass when the goal is an OEM+ exhaust note that is never excessively aggressive.

SPORT SIDE MUFFLERS + CENTER MUFFLER BYPASS:

The Sport Side Mufflers can be installed by themselves or combined with the SOUL Center Muffler Bypass.

Sport Side Mufflers Only

Provides a deeper and more pronounced flat-six sound while retaining excellent cruising refinement.

Sport Side Mufflers + Center Muffler Bypass

Creates a more aggressive complete exhaust configuration with additional volume and engine feedback while retaining SOUL's muffled side sections to help manage rasp and drone.

This modular approach allows owners to start with a relatively mild exhaust modification and add additional sound later.

FACTORY PSE / GTS:

The Sport Side Mufflers are a fixed, non-valved exhaust system.

They physically replace the factory side mufflers, including the valved side mufflers found on vehicles equipped with Porsche Sport Exhaust.

This means a factory-PSE vehicle can use the Sport Side Mufflers, but the factory exhaust-valve sound-control function is no longer retained through the side mufflers.

This is particularly relevant for Carrera GTS and Carrera 4 GTS, which were equipped with Porsche Sport Exhaust from the factory.

GTS owners who want to retain switchable exhaust-volume control should instead consider the SOUL Valved Side Mufflers.

EXHAUST TIP OPTIONS:

DasMotoring offers all currently available SOUL configurations for this product.

Reuse Factory Tips

Retains the factory exhaust-tip appearance and provides the lowest-cost configuration.

Factory-tip compatibility depends on the vehicle's existing exhaust configuration. This selection is best suited to cars using the compatible factory S-style non-PSE tip interface.

SOUL Polished Chrome tips provide a classic OEM-inspired appearance and are constructed from T304L stainless steel with a durable chrome finish.

Black Chrome

SOUL Black Chrome tips use a PVD finish over the stainless-steel construction for a darker, more aggressive appearance.

Carbon Fiber is not offered. Although older SOUL dealer listings still show the Carbon Fiber configuration, SOUL's current 997.2 tip catalog explicitly states that Carbon Fiber tips have been discontinued.

Product Description

The SOUL Center Muffler Bypass Exhaust is designed for Porsche 997.2 Carrera owners looking for a refined increase in naturally aspirated flat-six sound, improved exhaust flow, and modest weight reduction without replacing the factory side mufflers.

Rather than using an X-pipe or crossover, SOUL deliberately keeps the left and right cylinder banks separate, similar to the factory exhaust layout. This configuration was developed to preserve low-RPM torque while improving exhaust flow through smoother, larger-radius tubing. Keeping the banks separated also helps reduce the rasp that can accompany some crossover-style center bypass systems.

The result is a noticeably stronger flat-six growl under acceleration with only a moderate increase in overall volume. Cabin presence increases enough to provide additional feedback to the driver without introducing unwanted highway drone.

The SOUL Center Muffler Bypass weighs approximately 12.7 lbs, compared with approximately 16.3 lbs for the factory center exhaust components, saving approximately 3.6 lbs / 1.5 kg. Construction consists of mandrel-bent 2.5-inch, .065-inch-wall T304L stainless steel tubing, laser-cut brackets, and back-purged welds for long-term durability.

CENTER MUFFLER BYPASS DESIGN:

The factory 997.2 Carrera center muffler forces the exhaust gases through a more restrictive path before sending each cylinder bank toward the rear side mufflers.

SOUL replaces the center muffler with two smooth, independently routed exhaust paths.

Importantly, SOUL chose not to use an X-pipe crossover. After consulting with Porsche tuners and engine builders during development, SOUL retained the separated-bank layout to avoid sacrificing low-end torque while still reducing restriction.

Large-radius bends improve exhaust flow while the separated architecture helps preserve the deeper character of the flat-six and reduce the rasp sometimes associated with crossover designs.

SOUND CHARACTER:

The Center Muffler Bypass is intended to provide a moderate, refined increase in sound rather than transforming the 997.2 Carrera into an extremely loud exhaust configuration.

Expect:

• More flat-six growl under acceleration

• Greater exhaust feedback on and off throttle

• A moderate increase in overall volume

• Slightly stronger cabin presence

• More engine character as RPM increases

• No intentional highway drone

Because the factory side mufflers remain in place, they continue providing most of the exhaust system's sound attenuation. This makes the Center Muffler Bypass a useful first exhaust modification for owners who want more character without immediately replacing the entire rear exhaust system.

WEIGHT REDUCTION:

Factory center exhaust components: approximately 16.3 lbs

SOUL Center Muffler Bypass: approximately 12.7 lbs

Weight savings: approximately 3.6 lbs / 1.5 kg

While the weight reduction is modest compared with a complete muffler-delete system, it comes with increased exhaust flow and sound without eliminating the factory side mufflers.

FACTORY PSE / GTS FITMENT:

This product should not be ordered for a factory-PSE vehicle based on SOUL's current published fitment information.

SOUL's current product specification explicitly states that the Center Muffler Bypass does not fit vehicles equipped with factory Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE).

Product Description

The SOUL Valved Side Mufflers are designed for Porsche 997.2 Carrera owners who want the ability to switch between a refined, drone-free exhaust note and an aggressive CUP-inspired flat-six sound at the press of a button.

With the valves closed, exhaust gases are routed through SOUL's bespoke mufflers for a sophisticated OEM+ tone suitable for normal street driving and highway cruising. SOUL specifically developed the mufflers to control unwanted frequencies, providing a refined cabin experience even when paired with higher-flow catalytic converters.

With the valves open, the mufflers are effectively bypassed for a much freer exhaust path and dramatically more aggressive naturally aspirated flat-six sound. The difference between the two modes gives the 997.2 Carrera substantially more personality without requiring the car to remain loud all the time.

The valves default to the closed position at startup, providing a more civilized cold-start experience. Valve operation is controlled with the included wireless remotes and can also be programmed to compatible factory HomeLink buttons.

The complete system weighs approximately 36.6 lbs, compared with approximately 38.6 lbs for the factory components, saving approximately 2 lbs / 0.9 kg. SOUL constructs each system in-house from mandrel-bent .060-inch-wall T304L stainless steel, bespoke mufflers, and laser-cut brackets.

VALVE OPERATION:

The SOUL Valved Side Mufflers provide a much wider range of sound than a conventional fixed performance muffler.

Valves Closed

Exhaust gases pass through SOUL's bespoke mufflers, producing a refined but sportier tone than the factory exhaust.

This is the default position at startup and is designed for comfortable street driving, highway cruising, early-morning starts, and situations where reduced exhaust volume is preferred.

SOUL specifically designed the closed-valve mode to remain drone-free during cruising, including vehicles fitted with aftermarket catalytic converters.

Valves Open

Opening the valves provides a much freer-flowing exhaust path and dramatically increases volume.

The resulting sound is much more raw and aggressive, with SOUL describing the character as reminiscent of an air-cooled Porsche CUP car.

When paired with high-flow catalytic converters or catless headers, the valves-open configuration becomes considerably louder.

STANDARD EXHAUST VS. FACTORY PSE:

The correct Existing Exhaust configuration must be selected when ordering.

Standard Exhaust / Non-PSE

Select this configuration for cars that were not originally equipped with Porsche Sport Exhaust.

Non-PSE Carrera S, Carrera 4S, and Targa 4S models can reuse compatible factory tips or use SOUL tips.

Base Carrera, Carrera 4, and Targa 4 models must use SOUL tips because the factory outlet/tip configuration is different.

Factory Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE)

Select this configuration for vehicles originally equipped with factory PSE.

Factory-PSE vehicles must use SOUL exhaust tips for proper fitment.

The 997.2 Carrera GTS and Carrera 4 GTS came standard with Porsche Sport Exhaust, so GTS customers should select the Factory PSE configuration and one of the SOUL tip options.

EXHAUST TIP OPTIONS:

Reuse Factory Tips

Provides the most OEM appearance and lowest purchase price.

This option should only be selected for a compatible non-PSE S-model exhaust configuration.

It should not be selected for:

• Base Carrera / Carrera 4 / Targa 4 models

• Factory-PSE cars

• Carrera GTS

• Carrera 4 GTS

Polished Chrome

SOUL's Polished Chrome tips are constructed from T304L stainless steel and finished with a bright chrome coating for a classic factory-inspired appearance.

Black Chrome

Black Chrome uses a durable PVD coating over the stainless-steel tip construction for a darker, more understated appearance.

NOTE: SOUL previously offered Carbon Fiber tips for this platform, but the current SOUL 997.2 tip listing states that the Carbon Fiber version has been discontinued.

Product Description

The SOUL Bolt-On Exhaust Tips are a direct-fit appearance upgrade for Porsche 997 and 997.2 GT3 / GT3 RS models, replacing the factory center exhaust tips with larger 3.5-inch stainless steel outlets available in multiple styles and finishes.

Each set bolts directly to the factory center muffler using a precision laser-cut backing plate and included heavy-duty clamps. No cutting or welding is required, and tip projection can be adjusted by nearly one inch to achieve the desired positioning within the rear bumper.

The backing plate is manufactured from 1/8-inch-thick T304L stainless steel, while each exhaust tip is hand fabricated from 3.5-inch-diameter, .065-inch-wall stainless steel tubing.

SOUL offers three distinct tip styles—Double Wall, Slash-Cut Single Wall, and Straight-Cut Single Wall—along with Signature Satin, Brushed, and Satin Black finishes, allowing the rear appearance of the GT3 to be tailored from understated OEM+ to a more aggressive motorsport-inspired look.

TIP STYLE OPTIONS:

3.5" Double Wall

The Double Wall design provides the fullest and most substantial appearance of the available configurations. The thicker-looking outlet gives the rear of the GT3 a more finished OEM+ appearance while retaining the larger 3.5-inch diameter.

3.5" Slash-Cut Single Wall

The Slash-Cut Single Wall design provides a more aggressive motorsport-inspired appearance with an angled outlet profile.

Its lighter visual design works particularly well for GT3 and GT3 RS applications where a more purposeful race-derived appearance is desired.

3.5" Straight-Cut Single Wall

The Straight-Cut Single Wall design provides the cleanest and most minimalist configuration.

The simple straight outlet emphasizes the functional nature of the GT3 exhaust system and pairs particularly well with track-focused builds.

TIP FINISH OPTIONS:

Signature Satin

SOUL's Signature Satin finish provides a clean natural-stainless appearance without the high shine of a polished or chrome-plated tip.

Because this is an uncoated stainless finish, normal exhaust heat cycling can gradually create a golden heat tint.

Brushed

The Brushed finish provides a more mechanical and motorsport-oriented stainless appearance with visible directional finishing.

Like Signature Satin, the natural stainless steel can gradually develop heat coloration during use.

Satin Black

The Satin Black configuration provides the darkest appearance and creates strong contrast against the GT3's rear bumper and center exhaust opening.

SOUL also offers coating solutions for customers who want greater resistance to long-term heat-related appearance changes.

INSTALLATION / ADJUSTMENT:

The SOUL tips mount to a dedicated stainless-steel backing plate that bolts directly to the factory center muffler.

Each tip is secured using Mikalor Supra Heavy-Duty W4 clamps, allowing the installer to adjust the projection of the tips before tightening the system.

Approximately one inch of fore/aft adjustment is available, making it possible to position the outlets according to personal preference and rear-bumper fitment.

No welding or permanent modification is required.

HEAT COLORATION:

Natural stainless-steel exhaust tips can gradually develop a golden or bronze tint from repeated exposure to exhaust heat.

This is a normal characteristic of uncoated stainless steel and does not indicate a material failure.

Owners who want a finish that is less susceptible to visible heat coloration should consider one of SOUL's coated finish options.

Product Description

The SOUL Center Muffler is designed for Porsche 997 and 997.2 GT3 owners who want a stronger, more durable replacement for the factory center muffler with the ability to choose either more exhaust volume or less exhaust volume than stock.

SOUL developed this system after observing failures of factory GT3 center mufflers, including cars that had not otherwise been heavily modified. For street and track-driven GT3s, a center muffler failure can become more than an inconvenience, particularly during sustained high-temperature use.

Rather than simply duplicating the factory component, SOUL uses thicker-gauge stainless steel construction and offers two distinct internal sound configurations. The Louder Than OEM version increases naturally aspirated flat-six presence, while the Quieter Than OEM version is specifically intended for owners who need additional sound control for tracks with restrictive noise limits.

The muffler bolts directly into the factory location without modification and can be used with otherwise stock exhaust components or as part of a more extensively modified GT3 exhaust system.

SOUND LEVEL OPTIONS:

SOUL offers two versions of the Center Muffler so the exhaust can be tailored around the intended use of the vehicle.

Louder Than OEM

The louder configuration is designed to amplify the GT3's naturally aspirated flat-six character compared with the factory center muffler.

This is the appropriate choice for owners who want increased exhaust presence while retaining an actual center muffler rather than moving to a Center Muffler Bypass.

SOUL Part Number: POR.GT3.MUFL

Quieter Than OEM

The quieter configuration is designed to reduce overall exhaust volume compared with the factory center muffler.

This version is particularly useful for GT3 owners attending tracks with strict sound limits or for vehicles with other exhaust modifications that have increased overall volume beyond the desired level.

SOUL Part Number: POR.GT3.MUFQ

WHY REPLACE THE FACTORY CENTER MUFFLER?

SOUL developed this product after observing failures of factory GT3 center mufflers under demanding use.

On heavily driven street cars and track cars, repeated thermal cycling and sustained exhaust temperatures can place considerable stress on the center muffler assembly. Exhaust modifications such as higher-flow headers can further increase the demands placed on downstream components.

The SOUL Center Muffler uses thicker-gauge stainless construction to provide a more robust replacement while preserving a true muffled exhaust configuration.

This makes it particularly attractive for owners who want improved durability without converting the car to a complete center-muffler bypass.

LOUDER VS. QUIETER:

Choose Louder Than OEM if:

• You want more GT3 flat-six sound

• You still want a true center muffler rather than a bypass

• Your car retains relatively quiet factory headers and side mufflers

• Track noise restrictions are not a major concern

Choose Quieter Than OEM if:

• Your local tracks enforce strict sound limits

• Your headers or other exhaust components have already increased volume substantially

• You want additional sound attenuation without reinstalling the factory center muffler

• Exhaust-system durability is important but additional volume is not

CENTER MUFFLER VS. CENTER MUFFLER BYPASS:

The SOUL Center Muffler retains actual sound attenuation and is available in either louder-than-stock or quieter-than-stock configurations.

The SOUL Center Muffler Bypass removes the factory center muffler entirely and provides a much more aggressive exhaust character along with approximately 11 lbs of weight reduction.

For owners prioritizing maximum sound and reduced weight, the Center Muffler Bypass is the more aggressive solution.

For owners prioritizing durability, controlled sound levels, or compliance with track noise restrictions, the SOUL Center Muffler provides the more appropriate solution.

EXHAUST TIP OPTIONS:

There are no exhaust-tip variants associated with this product.

The SOUL Center Muffler is sold as a replacement center muffler assembly rather than as a center muffler/tip package, so the Squarespace product only needs the Sound Level selection.

Product Description

The SOUL Modular Competition Exhaust Package is a complete lightweight exhaust solution for Porsche 997 and 997.2 GT3 / GT3 RS owners looking for maximum sound, substantial rear weight reduction, improved heat management, and the flexibility to change the exhaust configuration depending on how the car is being used.

The package combines SOUL's Side Muffler Bypass Pipes, Center Muffler Bypass Exhaust, and bespoke exhaust support brackets into one modular system. Because the side and center sections remain independently removable, owners can easily change between different configurations to increase or decrease exhaust volume without replacing the entire system.

When installed as a complete system, the package eliminates both the heavy factory side mufflers and center muffler. The non-valved configuration saves approximately 49 lbs, while the valved configuration saves approximately 46 lbs from the rear of the vehicle.

Removing the large factory mufflers also reduces heat retention within the rear of the car and helps limit heat soak around the engine compartment and rear tires during aggressive driving and track use.

For drivers who still want control over exhaust volume, the optional valved configuration retains factory Porsche Sport Exhaust button functionality. With the valves closed, exhaust is routed through smaller-diameter piping before entering the expansion chamber of the center muffler bypass, noticeably reducing exterior volume. Open the valves and the system delivers the full aggressive character of a lightweight GT3 competition exhaust.

MODULAR 3-IN-1 DESIGN:

A major advantage of this system is its modular construction.

The package allows the owner to configure the GT3 exhaust in several different ways depending on the desired sound level:

Complete Modular Competition System
SOUL Side Muffler Bypass Pipes + SOUL Center Muffler Bypass Exhaust for maximum weight reduction and exhaust volume.

SOUL Side Muffler Bypass + Factory Center Muffler
Retains more sound attenuation through the factory center muffler while still eliminating the heavy factory side mufflers.

Factory Side Mufflers + SOUL Center Muffler Bypass
Retains the factory valved side mufflers while removing the factory center muffler for increased sound with greater street refinement.

This makes the package particularly useful for cars that see both street and track use, since the exhaust configuration can be changed without replacing the entire system.

VALVED CONFIGURATION:

The Valved Modular Competition Exhaust Package retains factory Porsche Sport Exhaust button operation.

With the valves closed, 100% of the exhaust is directed through smaller-diameter piping before entering the expansion chamber of the center muffler bypass.

This substantially reduces exterior exhaust volume while retaining the lightweight architecture of the complete system.

With the valves open, the system provides the unrestricted, aggressive sound expected from a competition-focused GT3 exhaust.

SOUL notes that the difference between valve positions is more noticeable outside the vehicle than inside the cabin because the center bypass expansion chamber continues to help manage cabin resonance.

Approximate weight savings: 46 lbs / 20.9 kg

NON-VALVED CONFIGURATION:

The Non-Valved Modular Competition Exhaust Package removes the valve assemblies entirely for the simplest and lightest possible configuration.

This version operates at the aggressive exhaust setting at all times and provides the maximum weight reduction available from the package.

SOUL includes plugs for the factory vacuum lines when installing the non-valved version.

Approximate weight savings: 49 lbs / 22.2 kg

For dedicated track cars or owners who prioritize minimum weight and maximum sound over volume control, the Non-Valved configuration is the more focused option.

SOUND CHARACTER:

With both the factory center and side mufflers removed, the Modular Competition Exhaust Package dramatically increases the presence of the GT3's naturally aspirated flat-six.

Expect:

• Significantly increased overall exhaust volume

• Much greater mechanical flat-six character

• Stronger high-RPM GT3 wail

• Increased sound throughout the rev range

• A substantially more motorsport-oriented exhaust character

• More cabin presence than factory

Despite the extremely free-flowing design, SOUL's center bypass incorporates an expansion chamber intended to reduce unwanted drone and vibration within the cabin.

The final sound level will also depend heavily on the header configuration. Factory headers retain considerably more sound attenuation than SOUL Street or Competition Headers.

HEAT MANAGEMENT:

The factory GT3 side mufflers represent substantial thermal mass positioned close to the engine compartment and rear tires.

Removing the side mufflers reduces both weight and the amount of heat stored in the rear exhaust system.

This is particularly beneficial during extended track sessions, where repeated high-load operation can substantially increase exhaust temperatures and contribute to heat soak around surrounding components and the rear tires.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT:

When installed with the factory header and catalytic-converter configuration, the SOUL Modular Competition Exhaust Package does not affect the oxygen sensors or catalytic converters.

SOUL states that no check engine lights are associated with installation of this system, as the relevant oxygen sensors remain located within the header assemblies.

If the vehicle is also equipped with aftermarket headers, catalyst-delete components, or other engine-management modifications, diagnostic behavior will depend on those additional components.

Product Description

The SOUL Side Muffler Bypass Pipes are designed for Porsche 997 and 997.2 GT3 / GT3 RS owners looking for substantial weight reduction, reduced rear heat soak, increased exhaust flow, and a more aggressive naturally aspirated flat-six exhaust note.

Rather than replacing the factory center muffler, the system eliminates the heavy factory side mufflers and replaces them with lightweight 3-inch stainless steel bypass pipes. The factory side exhaust components weigh approximately 44.9 lbs, while the complete SOUL bypass assembly weighs just 6.6 lbs, removing approximately 38.3 lbs / 17.3 kg from the rear of the car.

Eliminating the side mufflers also reduces the amount of heat retained around the engine compartment and rear tires. SOUL incorporates high-quality flex bellows to accommodate thermal expansion and movement during aggressive driving, while an enlarged secondary-pipe opening helps equalize pressure within the factory center muffler.

The result is a dramatically lighter and freer-flowing exhaust configuration with significantly greater cabin presence, stronger high-RPM character, and the exotic race-inspired sound expected from a high-revving GT3.

WEIGHT & HEAT REDUCTION:

Weight savings are one of the biggest advantages of the SOUL Side Muffler Bypass Pipes.

Factory side exhaust components: approximately 44.9 lbs

SOUL Side Muffler Bypass Pipes: approximately 6.6 lbs

Total weight reduction: approximately 38.3 lbs / 17.3 kg

Removing more than 38 lbs from the rear of the vehicle provides a significant reduction in exhaust-system mass while also eliminating two large mufflers that act as heat sinks near the engine compartment.

For GT3s used heavily on track, reducing this retained heat can also help reduce the amount of radiant heat surrounding the rear tires and adjacent components.

SOUND CHARACTER:

The SOUL Side Muffler Bypass Pipes provide a substantial increase in exhaust volume without introducing undesirable changes in exhaust tone.

Expect:

• Greater naturally aspirated flat-six presence throughout the rev range

• More mechanical and race-derived exhaust character

• Increased cabin presence between approximately 2,000–3,000 RPM

• Significantly stronger GT3 exhaust character above 5,000 RPM

• Greater overall volume than the factory side-muffler configuration

The high-RPM character is where this system is particularly rewarding, allowing substantially more of the GT3's naturally aspirated flat-six sound into the cabin as engine speed climbs.

FLEX BELLOWS:

SOUL incorporates high-quality flex bellows into the Side Muffler Bypass Pipes rather than using completely rigid tubing.

The flex sections allow controlled movement as the exhaust heats and expands, while also accommodating movement during aggressive street and track use.

This helps reduce stresses transferred through the exhaust system, simplifies installation and alignment, and reduces the likelihood of cracking during repeated thermal cycles or extreme racing conditions.

CENTER MUFFLER PRESSURE MANAGEMENT:

The opening leading into the secondary pipe is enlarged as part of SOUL's design.

This helps equalize pressure within the factory center muffler, reducing the pressure imbalance that can contribute to fatigue and cracking over time.

This allows the factory center muffler to remain part of the exhaust system while the much heavier side mufflers are completely eliminated.

SIDE MUFFLER BYPASS VS. VALVED SIDE MUFFLER BYPASS:

The SOUL Side Muffler Bypass Pipes provide the greatest weight reduction of the two configurations, weighing approximately 6.6 lbs and saving approximately 38.3 lbs compared with the factory components.

The SOUL Valved Side Muffler Bypass Pipes incorporate exhaust valves that allow the driver to retain a quieter and louder operating mode. The additional valve hardware increases system weight to approximately 9.5 lbs, resulting in approximately 35.4 lbs of weight savings.

For owners prioritizing minimum weight, simplicity, and an always-aggressive exhaust configuration, the fixed Side Muffler Bypass Pipes provide the more focused solution.

For owners who want substantial weight savings while retaining exhaust-volume control, the Valved Side Muffler Bypass Pipes provide the more flexible alternative.

TIP OPTIONS:

This product replaces only the side mufflers and does not replace the center exhaust outlet or exhaust tips.

The vehicle's existing center muffler and exhaust-tip configuration remain in place.

No exhaust-tip selection is required for this product.

EMISSIONS / USE NOTE:

SOUL states that this product is not CARB certified and may not be legal for use on emissions-controlled vehicles.

It is intended for off-road use only where required by applicable regulations.

Customers are responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal requirements before installation or use.

Product Description

The SOUL Valved Side Muffler Bypass Pipes are designed for Porsche 997 and 997.2 GT3 / GT3 RS owners looking for a major reduction in rear-mounted weight and heat while retaining factory-style exhaust valve functionality.

Rather than replacing the center muffler, this system eliminates the large factory side mufflers and replaces them with lightweight 3-inch valved bypass pipes. Removing the side mufflers saves approximately 35.4 lbs / 16 kg from the rear of the car while also reducing the amount of heat retained around the engine compartment and rear tires.

SOUL incorporates high-quality exhaust valves that operate like the factory system. With the valves closed, exhaust is still routed through the factory center muffler, providing a moderately louder but comfortable exhaust note. Opening the valves allows the GT3's naturally aspirated flat-six to breathe through the freer-flowing bypass pipes, producing a significantly more aggressive and exotic exhaust character.

Compared with a center muffler bypass, SOUL specifically designed the Valved Side Muffler Bypass Pipes to provide a smoother transition between the quieter and louder valve positions while delivering substantially greater weight savings.

WEIGHT & HEAT REDUCTION:

One of the biggest advantages of the Valved Side Muffler Bypass system is weight reduction.

The factory side exhaust components weigh approximately 44.9 lbs, while the complete SOUL assembly weighs approximately 9.5 lbs.

That represents a reduction of approximately:

35.4 lbs / 16 kg

Because the factory side mufflers are substantial heat sinks located at the rear of the vehicle, removing them also reduces heat accumulation around the engine compartment and rear tires.

FACTORY-STYLE VALVE OPERATION:

The SOUL Side Muffler Bypass Pipes incorporate exhaust valves that preserve the GT3's ability to switch between quieter and louder exhaust configurations.

Valves Closed:
Exhaust continues through the factory center muffler, producing a moderately increased exhaust note while retaining a comfortable character for normal street driving.

Valves Open:
The bypass pipes provide a much freer exhaust path, revealing a significantly more aggressive and exotic flat-six tone.

SOUL specifically notes that the transition between open and closed operation is smoother than with a Center Muffler Bypass configuration.

SOUND CHARACTER:

With the valves closed, overall volume is increased moderately while the factory center muffler continues to provide substantial sound attenuation.

Opening the valves transforms the system, exposing much more of the GT3's naturally aspirated exhaust character and producing a refined, exotic tone appropriate for the high-revving Mezger engine.

The final sound level will depend significantly on the header configuration. Pairing the Valved Side Muffler Bypass Pipes with factory headers provides a more restrained setup, while combining them with SOUL Street or Competition Headers creates a much more aggressive complete exhaust system.

FLEX BELLOWS:

SOUL incorporates flex bellows into the bypass pipes rather than using completely rigid tubing.

These allow controlled movement as the exhaust heats, cools, and moves under demanding driving conditions. This reduces stress transmitted between exhaust components while also making installation and alignment easier.

SOUL specifically notes that the design provides additional durability under extreme racing conditions in a manner similar to the factory system.

OPTIONAL O2 SENSOR BUNGS:

SOUL can add oxygen-sensor bungs to the Side Muffler Bypass Pipes for vehicles using aftermarket headers that relocate the O2 sensors to this portion of the exhaust.

O2 bungs are not installed by default in order to minimize unnecessary weight.

If your vehicle requires O2 bungs due to an aftermarket header configuration, contact DasMotoring before ordering so the appropriate configuration can be confirmed.

Product Description

The SOUL Street Headers are designed for Porsche 997 and 997.2 GT3 / GT3 RS owners looking for improved exhaust flow, throttle response, power potential, and a more pronounced naturally aspirated flat-six exhaust note while retaining catalytic converters.

Even on Porsche's motorsport-derived GT3 platform, the factory exhaust manifolds are constrained by catalytic-converter packaging, primary-runner dimensions, and mass-production requirements. SOUL addresses these restrictions with larger, freer-flowing runners, optimized transitions, and SOUL-designed 300-cell high-flow catalytic converters.

Each catalyst uses a custom-specified precious-metal coating and triple metal-matrix core, providing greater exhaust-flow capability than the restrictive factory components while maintaining a catted exhaust configuration. SOUL specifically designed the system to provide increased exhaust flow without triggering a check engine light.

The headers are constructed from mandrel-bent .065-inch-wall T304L stainless steel and incorporate billet CNC-machined cylinder-head flanges for a smoother transition from the engine's exhaust ports into the primary runners. The billet flanges also provide additional strength in an area subjected to substantial thermal and mechanical stress during aggressive street and track use.

The result is a direct bolt-on header upgrade that amplifies the GT3's high-revving character while preserving the greater street usability of a catalytic-converter-equipped exhaust system.

300-CELL SPORT CATALYTIC CONVERTERS:

A major distinction between the SOUL Street Headers and Competition Headers is the use of 300-cell high-flow catalytic converters.

Rather than eliminating the catalysts entirely, SOUL incorporates large-diameter converters designed around increased exhaust flow. Each catalyst uses a custom-specified precious-metal coating and a triple metal-matrix core.

This allows the Street Headers to substantially reduce the restriction associated with the original header and catalyst assemblies while retaining catalytic converters and SOUL's no-CEL design intent.

HEADER DESIGN:

The factory GT3 exhaust manifold represents a compromise between performance, packaging, emissions requirements, manufacturing constraints, and durability.

SOUL focuses on improving the flow path between the cylinder head and downstream exhaust system through larger-diameter runners and optimized transitions.

The billet CNC-machined cylinder-head flanges provide a more efficient transition from the exhaust ports into the primary tubes while adding strength to an area subjected to repeated thermal cycling during aggressive driving.

Combined with the high-flow catalytic converters, the revised header architecture is designed to improve exhaust flow and throttle response without requiring the owner to move to a completely catless exhaust configuration.

SOUND CHARACTER:

The SOUL Street Headers increase the GT3's exhaust presence while preserving the basic character of the factory rear exhaust system.

Expect:

• Greater naturally aspirated flat-six presence

• Sharper throttle-dependent exhaust character

• Stronger high-RPM GT3 wail

• Increased mechanical character

• Greater exhaust intensity as engine speed rises

Because the catalytic converters remain in place, the Street Headers provide a more controlled exhaust character than SOUL's completely catless Competition Headers.

The final volume and tone will depend heavily on the downstream exhaust configuration. Pairing the Street Headers with the factory rear exhaust will provide a more restrained result than combining them with a SOUL Center Muffler Bypass or Side Muffler Bypass system.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT:

SOUL specifically designed the Street Headers to provide increased exhaust flow without triggering a check engine light.

The integrated 300-cell catalytic converters retain catalyst functionality while allowing substantially more exhaust flow than the original header assemblies.

As with any modified exhaust system, individual vehicle condition, engine calibration, oxygen sensors, and other modifications can affect diagnostic behavior, so no aftermarket exhaust component should be interpreted as an absolute guarantee against unrelated fault codes.

STREET VS. COMPETITION HEADERS:

The SOUL Street Headers retain 300-cell high-flow catalytic converters, providing increased exhaust flow, response, and sound while maintaining a catted configuration and SOUL's no-CEL design intent.

The SOUL Competition Headers completely eliminate the catalytic converters and use a long-tube architecture with billet merge collectors for a less restrictive, more competition-focused exhaust configuration.

For customers who want a significant header upgrade while retaining catalytic converters, the Street Headers are the appropriate SOUL option.

For dedicated track or competition builds prioritizing maximum exhaust flow and a catless configuration, SOUL offers the Competition Headers.

Product Description

The SOUL Competition Headers are designed for Porsche 997-generation GT3 owners seeking maximum exhaust flow, sharper engine response, reduced restriction, and a substantially more aggressive naturally aspirated flat-six exhaust character.

Even the factory GT3 exhaust manifolds are constrained by packaging, catalytic-converter placement, primary-tube dimensions, and mass-production requirements. SOUL replaces the factory assemblies with a purpose-built long-tube header system designed around optimized primary runners and high-efficiency merge collectors.

At the heart of the system are SOUL's billet CNC-machined merge collectors. The collector geometry incorporates merge spikes and a carefully developed transition from the individual primary runners into the exhaust outlet. This allows SOUL to maximize runner length while creating a smoother exhaust path and eliminating several welded joints from the collector assembly.

Billet CNC-machined cylinder-head flanges provide a more efficient transition from the exhaust ports into the primary tubes while adding strength in an area subjected to substantial heat and mechanical stress during repeated track use.

The result is a no-compromise, catless header system engineered around the high-RPM character of the GT3 engine, providing increased exhaust flow, sharper response, stronger performance potential, and a considerably more aggressive exhaust note.

LONG-TUBE HEADER DESIGN:

SOUL developed these headers around longer primary runners and an optimized merge collector rather than simply enlarging the factory header geometry.

Increasing usable primary-runner length allows the exhaust pulses from each cylinder to travel through a more deliberate path before entering the collector. Combined with smooth-radius bends and a properly designed merge, this reduces unnecessary disruption to exhaust flow.

The billet collector incorporates carefully shaped transitions and merge spikes to bring the individual runners together efficiently.

Rather than fabricating the collector entirely from multiple welded stainless-steel sections, SOUL machines the collector from billet material. This provides precise internal geometry while removing several welded joints from a particularly high-temperature portion of the exhaust system.

BILLET CNC FLANGES & COLLECTORS:

Both the cylinder-head flanges and merge collectors are precision machined from 304L stainless steel.

The cylinder-head flange is shaped to provide a smoother transition between the engine's exhaust ports and the primary tubing. This minimizes abrupt changes in geometry immediately as the exhaust gases leave the cylinder head.

The billet construction also adds rigidity and durability to the flange assembly, which is particularly valuable on vehicles subjected to repeated high-temperature track use.

SOUL uses 5-axis CNC machining to produce the complex collector and flange geometry required by the design.

SOUND CHARACTER:

Removing the factory catalytic converters and replacing the restrictive factory manifolds with long-tube headers substantially increases the amount of mechanical flat-six sound transmitted through the exhaust.

Expect:

• Increased overall exhaust volume

• Sharper and more immediate exhaust character

• Greater mechanical flat-six presence

• Stronger high-RPM GT3 wail

• A more aggressive motorsport-oriented tone

The final sound level will depend heavily on the downstream exhaust configuration. Pairing the Competition Headers with the factory rear exhaust will produce a different result than combining them with SOUL's Center Muffler Bypass or other competition-oriented exhaust components.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT / ECU TUNING:

Because the SOUL Competition Headers remove the factory catalytic converters, installation may trigger a check engine light related to catalyst monitoring.

SOUL recommends an appropriate custom ECU calibration to address catalyst-related fault codes on vehicles configured for track use.

Customers should assume that catalyst-related fault codes are possible when installing this product and plan their vehicle configuration accordingly.

COMPETITION USE:

These headers are designed around maximum performance rather than retaining the factory emissions equipment.

The factory catalytic converters are eliminated entirely, allowing SOUL to optimize the primary-runner and collector geometry without having to package catalysts directly into the header assemblies.

This makes the Competition Headers particularly suitable for dedicated track cars, GT3 Cup applications, and other competition-oriented builds where exhaust flow and durability take priority.

EMISSIONS / USE NOTE:

The SOUL Competition Headers remove the factory catalytic converters.

This product is not CARB certified and may not be legal for use on emissions-controlled vehicles.

SOUL identifies the product as intended for closed-course competition use only, and United States customers purchasing the system are required by SOUL to complete its Catless Exhaust Component Waiver.

Customers are responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations

Product Description

The SOUL Center Muffler Bypass Exhaust is designed for Porsche 997 and 997.2 GT3 / GT3 RS owners looking for a substantial increase in naturally aspirated flat-six sound without eliminating the factory side mufflers or exhaust-valve functionality.

By replacing the factory center muffler with a lightweight, free-flowing stainless steel assembly, the system allows more of the GT3's high-RPM exhaust character to come through while retaining the factory valved side mufflers. The factory Sport Exhaust button continues to control the side-muffler valves, giving the driver meaningful control over exhaust volume.

With the valves closed, the factory side mufflers continue to provide a more restrained exhaust character suitable for street driving and highway use. Open the valves and the Center Muffler Bypass delivers a significantly more aggressive flat-six wail, particularly as the engine approaches the upper end of the rev range.

The system also removes approximately 11 lbs from the rear of the vehicle, making it a straightforward way to improve both sound and weight without moving to a complete header or competition exhaust system.

FACTORY VALVE FUNCTIONALITY:

One of the biggest advantages of the Center Muffler Bypass is that it changes the sound of the GT3 without eliminating the factory side mufflers.

The original exhaust valves remain operational, allowing the factory Sport Exhaust system to continue changing the exhaust path.

Valves Closed:
The side mufflers remain involved in controlling the exhaust note, providing a more restrained character for cruising and street driving.

Valves Open:
The freer-flowing center section allows substantially more flat-six sound through, producing a much more aggressive GT3 exhaust note and emphasizing the engine's high-RPM character.

This makes the Center Muffler Bypass a strong option for owners who want significantly more sound without permanently committing the car to the volume level of a complete muffler-delete system.

SOUND CHARACTER:

The Center Muffler Bypass increases overall volume while preserving the distinctive character of the naturally aspirated GT3 engine.

Expect:

• Greater flat-six presence throughout the RPM range

• Significantly stronger high-RPM wail

• More mechanical exhaust character

• Much greater intensity with the factory valves open

• A more restrained exhaust note with the valves closed

With factory headers retained, the system provides a noticeable increase in sound without transforming the GT3 into an uncompromising track exhaust.

Paired with upgraded headers, the Center Muffler Bypass becomes considerably more aggressive and moves much closer to a full motorsport-style exhaust character.

CENTER MUFFLER BYPASS VS. SIDE MUFFLER BYPASS:

The Center Muffler Bypass Exhaust removes the center muffler while retaining the factory valved side mufflers. This preserves factory exhaust-valve functionality and provides a useful difference between the valves-open and valves-closed sound levels.

The Side Muffler Bypass Pipes remove the much heavier factory side mufflers, providing substantially greater weight reduction and a different exhaust character.

For owners primarily looking for more sound while retaining factory valve control, the Center Muffler Bypass is the more straightforward upgrade.

For owners prioritizing maximum weight reduction and a more aggressive exhaust configuration, the Side Muffler Bypass Pipes provide another option.

TIP FINISH OPTIONS:

Signature Satin

SOUL's Signature Satin finish provides a clean, understated stainless-steel appearance that complements the factory styling while emphasizing the more aggressive GT2-inspired shape.

Because this is an uncoated stainless-steel finish, the tips can gradually develop a golden heat tint during use.

Brushed

The Brushed finish retains the natural stainless-steel construction with a hand-finished brushed appearance for a more mechanical and motorsport-oriented look.

Like the Signature Satin version, the uncoated stainless steel can gradually develop heat coloration with continued use.

Satin Black

The Satin Black tips receive a PVD coating designed to provide a durable, heat-resistant dark finish. This is the most visually aggressive option and provides a significant contrast against the rear bumper and exhaust surrounds.

INSTALLATION / ALIGNMENT:

The SOUL GT2 Style Tips are designed to install directly onto the existing exhaust outlets using the supplied heavy-duty clamps.

Each tip incorporates an internal ring that allows a small amount of positioning adjustment before the clamp is fully tightened. This makes it possible to independently center and align the left and right tips within the bumper openings.

The system does not require welding or permanent exhaust modification when installed on a compatible factory or aftermarket exhaust system.

FACTORY EXHAUST NOTE:

SOUL specifically recommends checking the condition and alignment of the factory exhaust mounts when installing these tips on a vehicle retaining the original exhaust.

As the factory mounts age, they can allow additional movement or sag in the exhaust assembly. Under aggressive driving, excessive movement can allow the exhaust tips to contact the surrounding bumper trim.

SOUL recommends considering a high-temperature ceramic coating such as Jet-Hot for vehicles retaining the factory exhaust where additional thermal protection is desired.

Product Description

The SOUL Sport Headers are designed for Porsche 997.1 Turbo owners looking to improve exhaust flow, turbocharger response, throttle response, and exhaust character without compromising ground clearance. By replacing the restrictive factory header design with optimized runners and true 3-into-1 merge collectors, the SOUL headers create a smoother and more efficient exhaust path from the cylinder heads into the turbochargers.

The factory headers use a relatively basic design with an internal support through the center runner that interrupts the exhaust flow path. SOUL eliminates this restriction and optimizes the internal volume and runner geometry to increase exhaust-gas velocity into the turbochargers.

The factory turbo inlet measures approximately 1.54 inches ID, while SOUL increases the header outlet to approximately 1.63 inches ID to provide a smoother transition into the turbocharger. The resulting header volume and collector design work with the turbocharger's efficiency range to provide noticeably quicker boost response and stronger power delivery throughout the RPM range.

SOUL also replaces the factory double-wall header construction with a single-wall stainless steel design. In addition to improving the flow path, this creates a sharper and more engaging exhaust tone with increased turbocharger sound, stronger burbles, and more pronounced pops between shifts and during deceleration.

For owners looking to improve the responsiveness and character of the 997.1 Turbo without replacing the complete exhaust system, the SOUL Sport Headers provide a direct bolt-on upgrade focused on flow, boost response, durability, and sound.

TURBO RESPONSE / FLOW:

The factory 997 Turbo header design leaves considerable opportunity for improving the exhaust path between the cylinder heads and turbochargers.

SOUL's optimized runner geometry and 3-into-1 merge collector are designed to increase exhaust-gas velocity as the three primary runners converge and enter each turbocharger.

By increasing the outlet diameter from approximately 1.54 inches at the factory turbo inlet to approximately 1.63 inches at the SOUL header outlet, the system provides a smoother transition into the turbocharger while reducing unnecessary restriction.

The result is quicker feedback when the throttle is applied, improved boost response, and stronger usable power throughout each gear.

SOUND CHARACTER:

In addition to improving exhaust flow, the SOUL Sport Headers change the character of the 997.1 Turbo exhaust system.

The factory headers use a double-wall design, while SOUL uses a single-wall stainless steel construction. This allows more mechanical exhaust and turbocharger sound to come through, creating a sharper and more engaging tone.

Expect increased turbocharger presence, stronger burbles, and more pronounced pops between shifts and during deceleration without the headers themselves introducing objectionable cabin drone.

EXHAUST SYSTEM COMPATIBILITY:

The SOUL Sport Headers can be used with the factory 997.1 Turbo exhaust system or incorporated into a more comprehensive performance exhaust configuration.

They pair naturally with both the SOUL Sport X-Pipe Exhaust System and SOUL Competition X-Pipe Exhaust System, allowing owners to progressively upgrade the exhaust depending on their desired balance of catalytic-converter retention, sound, weight reduction, and exhaust flow.

Product Description

The SOUL Sport X-Pipe Exhaust System is designed for Porsche 997.1 Turbo owners who want increased exhaust flow, stronger turbo and flat-six sound, reduced weight, and support for high-horsepower applications while retaining catalytic converters. The complete system replaces the restrictive factory exhaust with a purpose-built 3-inch X-pipe architecture, high-flow catalytic converters, and quad resonators designed to balance performance with street usability.

SOUL developed the system around a proprietary X-pipe and mixing chamber that blends exhaust flow from the two cylinder banks. CAD analysis performed during development showed increased exhaust-gas velocity downstream of the crossover across a range of pressure and temperature conditions, helping reduce backpressure while maintaining the flow capacity required for modified turbocharged engines.

The Sport X-Pipe uses SOUL-designed 300-cell catalytic converters featuring a custom-specified precious-metal coating and triple metal-matrix core. These catalysts provide substantially greater exhaust flow than the factory components while retaining a catted exhaust configuration. SOUL specifically designed the system to provide additional performance without triggering a check engine light.

Sound quality was also a major part of development. Four straight-through race resonators help reduce unwanted cabin drone while allowing significantly more turbocharger sound and flat-six character to come through. Under heavy throttle, the system produces a much more aggressive exhaust note along with increased turbo wail, pops, and burbles. During cruising, the Sport X-Pipe maintains a milder and more refined presence than the catless Competition system.

Weight reduction is substantial for a complete catted exhaust system. The SOUL Sport X-Pipe weighs approximately 34.2 lbs, compared with approximately 45 lbs for the factory exhaust components, saving approximately 10.8 lbs / 4.9 kg.

300-CELL SPORT CATALYTIC CONVERTERS:

The SOUL Sport X-Pipe incorporates 300-cell high-flow catalytic converters designed specifically to balance increased exhaust flow with effective catalyst operation.

Each catalyst features a custom-specified precious-metal coating and a durable triple metal-matrix core. This allows the Sport X-Pipe to support substantially greater exhaust flow than the factory system while retaining catalytic converters and SOUL's no-CEL design intent.

SOUND CHARACTER:

The Sport X-Pipe is designed to provide a significant increase in exhaust and turbocharger sound without turning the car into an uncompromising race exhaust.

Under aggressive throttle inputs, the freer-flowing 3-inch system allows considerably more flat-six sound and turbo wail to reach the driver. Pops and burbles during deceleration also become more pronounced.

During steady cruising, the four race resonators help reduce unwanted cabin drone and give the system a milder, sportier presence suitable for street use.

SPORT VS. COMPETITION X-PIPE:

The SOUL Sport X-Pipe retains 300-cell high-flow catalytic converters and is designed to provide increased exhaust flow and sound without triggering a check engine light.

The SOUL Competition X-Pipe removes the catalytic converters entirely for greater exhaust flow, additional weight reduction, and a more aggressive exhaust character.

For owners who want a substantial exhaust upgrade while retaining catalytic converters and greater street refinement, the Sport X-Pipe provides the more street-oriented configuration. For owners prioritizing maximum flow, minimum restriction, and sound, the Competition X-Pipe provides the more aggressive alternative.

Product Description

The SOUL Competition X-Pipe Exhaust System is designed for Porsche 997.1 Turbo owners looking for maximum exhaust flow, substantial weight reduction, significantly increased turbo and flat-six sound, and support for high-horsepower applications. By replacing the restrictive factory exhaust and catalytic converters with a free-flowing catless system, the Competition X-Pipe dramatically changes the character of the 997.1 Turbo while reducing backpressure through the entire rear exhaust assembly.

SOUL developed the system around full 3-inch piping to provide the flow capacity required for highly modified turbocharged engines. A proprietary X-pipe and mixing-chamber design blends exhaust flow from the two cylinder banks, with SOUL's CAD analysis showing increased exhaust-gas velocity downstream of the crossover across a range of pressure and temperature conditions.

Sound control was also a major consideration during development. The Competition X-Pipe incorporates four straight-through race resonators along with dedicated Helmholtz resonators engineered to target frequencies responsible for cabin drone in approximately the 2,000–3,000 RPM range. The result is an aggressive exhaust with substantially increased turbocharger sound, flat-six character, crackles, and burbles while retaining a more refined cabin experience than a completely unresonated system.

Weight reduction is substantial. The SOUL Competition X-Pipe weighs approximately 28.8 lbs, compared with approximately 45 lbs for the factory exhaust components, removing approximately 16.2 lbs / 7.3 kg from the rear of the vehicle.

SOUND CHARACTER:

The SOUL Competition X-Pipe is designed to make the 997.1 Turbo significantly more engaging without simply creating uncontrolled exhaust noise.

The larger 3-inch exhaust path and removal of the factory catalytic converters substantially increase turbocharger presence, exhaust volume, and flat-six character. Deceleration produces a more pronounced series of crackles and burbles, while aggressive throttle inputs bring significantly more turbo and engine sound into the cabin.

The quad race resonators and Helmholtz chambers help manage unwanted frequencies so the exhaust remains more refined during cruising than a basic straight-pipe system.

CATLESS CONFIGURATION / CHECK ENGINE LIGHT:

The SOUL Competition X-Pipe completely removes the factory catalytic converters.

Catalyst removal can result in a check engine light from catalyst-efficiency monitoring. SOUL's historical development information specifically notes that a CEL is likely with the catless Competition system, although vehicle calibration and oxygen-sensor configuration can influence the result.

Customers installing this system should plan accordingly if catalyst-related fault codes are a concern.

An appropriate ECU calibration may also allow a modified vehicle to take greater advantage of the increased exhaust flow.

COMPETITION VS. SPORT X-PIPE:

The SOUL Competition X-Pipe removes the factory catalytic converters entirely for maximum exhaust flow, greater weight reduction, and the most aggressive sound available from SOUL's complete 997.1 Turbo exhaust systems.

The SOUL Sport X-Pipe retains high-flow catalytic converters while using the same general 3-inch X-pipe architecture and resonator strategy.

For owners prioritizing maximum flow, reduced weight, and sound, the Competition X-Pipe provides the more aggressive configuration. For owners who want increased performance and exhaust character while retaining catalytic converters and SOUL's no-CEL design intent, the Sport X-Pipe provides the more street-oriented alternative.

MODEL / TIP CONFIGURATION:

The correct configuration must be selected based on the vehicle's model and existing exhaust system.

Carrera S / Carrera 4S / Targa 4S – Reuse Factory Tips:
S-model vehicles equipped with the standard non-PSE exhaust can reuse their factory exhaust tips. This is the lightest and most cost-effective configuration.

Base Carrera / Carrera 4 / Targa 4 / Any Model with Factory PSE – SOUL Tips:
Base-model vehicles and any 997.1 equipped with factory Porsche Sport Exhaust require SOUL exhaust tips because of differences in factory outlet diameter. This DasMotoring configuration includes SOUL Polished Chrome exhaust tips.

Owners of Carrera S, Carrera 4S, or Targa 4S models who prefer SOUL tips rather than reusing the factory tips can also select the SOUL-tip configuration.

SOUND CHARACTER:

The SOUL Muffler Bypass Pipes provide one of the most aggressive exhaust configurations available for the naturally aspirated 997.1 Carrera.

Removing the factory mufflers creates a raw, direct, CUP-inspired flat-six sound with substantially more volume throughout the rev range. Unlike a conventional performance muffler, there is no significant sound attenuation between the engine and the exhaust outlets.

The result is extremely engaging during spirited driving, but the tradeoff is increased cabin presence and noticeable drone during cruising.

Pairing the Muffler Bypass Pipes with SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters will further increase overall exhaust volume and character. Combining them with SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes creates an exceptionally loud complete exhaust configuration intended for owners who prioritize maximum sound over street refinement.

STREET USE / DRONE:

The SOUL Muffler Bypass Pipes contain no mufflers, and cabin drone should be expected.

SOUL notes that drone can be managed to some degree by selecting an appropriate cruising RPM, but owners should not expect the refinement of the Sport Side Mufflers or Valved Exhaust System.

For owners who want increased exhaust sound while retaining better highway comfort, the SOUL Sport Side Mufflers provide a more refined fixed-exhaust alternative. Owners who want maximum control over exhaust volume should consider the SOUL Valved Exhaust System.

TIP CONFIGURATION:

The SOUL-tip configuration includes Polished Chrome exhaust tips.

To keep ordering simple, DasMotoring does not offer additional tip-finish dropdowns on this listing. If you would like another currently available SOUL tip finish, contact DasMotoring before ordering and we can confirm availability and pricing.

NOTE: SOUL Carbon Fiber exhaust tips for this application have been discontinued.

MUFFLER BYPASS VS. SPORT SIDE MUFFLERS:

The SOUL Muffler Bypass Pipes completely eliminate the factory mufflers for maximum weight reduction and the most aggressive fixed exhaust sound.

The SOUL Sport Side Mufflers retain dedicated mufflers designed to increase flat-six character while controlling drone and maintaining a more refined OEM+ cruising experience.

For owners prioritizing minimum weight and maximum sound, the Muffler Bypass Pipes provide the more aggressive solution. For primarily street-driven cars where highway refinement remains important, the Sport Side Mufflers provide the more balanced alternative.

Product Description

The SOUL Competition Headers are designed for Porsche 997.1 Carrera owners looking to improve exhaust flow, engine response, and naturally aspirated flat-six performance while retaining the factory catalytic converter configuration. Unlike many header upgrades that remove or relocate catalytic converters, the 997.1 Carrera incorporates its catalytic converters farther downstream in the exhaust system, allowing SOUL to optimize the header design without affecting the factory emissions equipment.

SOUL developed the Competition Headers around a smoother exhaust path from the cylinder heads into the remainder of the system. Port-matched flanges, smooth-radius primary tubing, equal-length runners, and a true 3-into-1 merge collector improve upon the factory header geometry and provide a more efficient transition between the individual cylinders and downstream exhaust.

The design is particularly beneficial to the larger 3.8L Carrera S engine, which can take advantage of the additional exhaust volume, while also improving the flow path of the factory 3.6L Carrera engine. The result is improved exhaust flow and stronger torque response without introducing additional emissions concerns, catalyst-related fault codes, or unwanted changes in exhaust sound quality.

The SOUL Competition Headers also reduce weight compared with the factory components, saving approximately 2 lbs / 0.9 kg while providing a direct bolt-on performance upgrade.

HEADER DESIGN:

The factory 997.1 Carrera places its catalytic converters farther downstream in the exhaust system, allowing the header geometry itself to be optimized independently of the emissions-control components.

SOUL improves the exhaust path through equal-length runners, smooth-radius tubing, port-matched flanges, and a true 3-into-1 merge collector. This provides a smoother transition from the individual cylinders into the downstream exhaust system and reduces unnecessary restriction through the header assembly.

The design improves the flow characteristics of the 3.6L Carrera engine while providing the additional exhaust volume required by the larger 3.8L Carrera S engine.

CATALYTIC CONVERTERS / CHECK ENGINE LIGHT:

The SOUL Competition Headers do not remove the factory catalytic converters.

On the 997.1 Carrera, the catalytic converters are located downstream of the headers. Because the SOUL Competition Headers replace only the header assemblies, the factory emissions-control equipment can remain in place.

SOUL specifically designed the headers to improve exhaust flow without creating additional emissions concerns or catalyst-related check engine lights.

For owners looking for additional exhaust flow farther downstream, the headers can also be paired with SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters or other compatible exhaust components.

COMPETITION HEADERS + DOWNSTREAM EXHAUST:

The SOUL Competition Headers can be used as a standalone upgrade with the remainder of the factory exhaust system or incorporated into a more comprehensive exhaust configuration.

Pairing the headers with SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters can further reduce exhaust restriction while retaining catalytic converters.

For owners looking for additional exhaust sound, the headers can also be combined with SOUL Sport Side Mufflers or the SOUL Valved Exhaust System.

This modular approach allows owners to progressively upgrade the 997.1 exhaust system while selecting the desired balance of performance, sound, and street usability.

Product Description

The SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes are designed for Porsche 997.1 Carrera owners looking for maximum exhaust flow, substantial weight reduction, and the most aggressive naturally aspirated flat-six sound available from the center section of the exhaust system. By completely removing the restrictive factory catalytic converters, the Cat Bypass Pipes create a freer-flowing exhaust path while allowing significantly more of the engine's mechanical character to come through.

During development, SOUL compared a traditional X-pipe configuration with a separated-bank design. Testing showed that joining the banks with an X-pipe reduced some of the deeper frequencies that contribute to the distinctive 997.1 exhaust note. SOUL therefore chose to keep the left and right cylinder banks separated, producing a deeper and fuller flat-six sound with increased volume and a subtle hint of rasp reminiscent of earlier air-cooled Porsche exhaust systems.

The Cat Bypass Pipes are constructed from 2.25-inch OD, .065-inch-wall T304L stainless steel tubing with smooth mandrel bends and durable exhaust flanges. The complete assemblies weigh approximately 8.75 lbs, compared with approximately 15 lbs for the factory catalytic converter sections, reducing weight by approximately 6.25 lbs / 2.8 kg.

For owners prioritizing maximum exhaust flow, reduced weight, throttle response, and an uncompromising flat-six exhaust note, the SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes provide the most aggressive alternative to the factory catalytic converters.

SOUND CHARACTER:

SOUL specifically developed the 997.1 Cat Bypass Pipes around a separated-bank exhaust design rather than an X-pipe crossover.

During development, SOUL found that joining the exhaust banks with an X-pipe produced a hollower tone and removed some of the deeper frequencies that contribute to the character of the 997.1 flat-six.

Keeping the two banks separated adds more volume and preserves a deeper, fuller exhaust note with increased mechanical character and a subtle hint of rasp.

When paired with factory rear mufflers, the Cat Bypass Pipes provide a substantial increase in sound while allowing the factory mufflers to continue controlling overall volume.

Pairing the Cat Bypass Pipes with SOUL Sport Side Mufflers or the SOUL Valved Exhaust System will create a significantly more aggressive complete exhaust configuration.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT / ECU TUNING:

The SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes completely remove the factory catalytic converters and may trigger a check engine light as a result.

An appropriate ECU calibration can be used to address catalyst-related fault codes and may also allow the engine management system to better accommodate the freer-flowing exhaust configuration.

Customers should plan for the possibility of a check engine light when installing this product.

EXISTING EXHAUST CONFIGURATION:

The 997.1 Carrera uses different Cat Bypass Pipe configurations depending on whether the vehicle was originally equipped with the standard exhaust or Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE).

The correct rear exhaust configuration must be selected when ordering:

• Non-PSE / Standard Factory Exhaust

• Factory Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE)

CAT BYPASS VS. SPORT CATALYTIC CONVERTERS:

The SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes completely eliminate the factory catalytic converters for the least restrictive exhaust path, greater weight reduction, and the most aggressive exhaust note.

The SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters retain high-flow catalysts while still improving exhaust flow, throttle response, power, and flat-six sound.

For owners prioritizing maximum flow, minimum weight, and sound—and who are prepared to address catalyst-related fault codes—the Cat Bypass Pipes provide the more aggressive configuration. For owners who want improved performance while retaining catalytic converters, the Sport Catalytic Converters provide the more street-oriented alternative.

EMISSIONS / USE NOTE:

The SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes remove the factory catalytic converters and are not CARB certified.

This product may not be legal for use on emissions-controlled vehicles and is intended for off-road / competition use only due to removal of the factory catalytic converters.

Customers are responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations before installation or use.

Product Description

The SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters are designed for Porsche 997.1 Carrera owners looking to improve exhaust flow, throttle response, power, and naturally aspirated flat-six sound while retaining catalytic converters. The factory 997.1 catalytic converters are a significant restriction in the exhaust system, making this one of the most effective upgrades for owners who want additional performance and sound without moving to a fully catless configuration.

Rather than joining the two cylinder banks with an X-pipe, SOUL intentionally keeps the exhaust banks separated through the catalytic converter sections. During development, SOUL compared both configurations and found that the separate-bank design retained more of the deep frequencies and mechanical character of the 997.1 flat-six. The result is a deeper, fuller exhaust note with increased volume and a subtle hint of rasp reminiscent of earlier air-cooled Porsche exhaust systems.

Independent Dynojet testing performed by Growler Motor Labs demonstrated repeatable peak gains of approximately 10 wheel horsepower and 14 lb-ft of torque, along with noticeable improvement through the midrange. SOUL also reports improved throttle response and overall drivability.

The Sport Catalytic Converters reduce weight compared with the factory components as well. The factory catalytic converter sections weigh approximately 15 lbs, while the SOUL assemblies weigh approximately 13 lbs, saving approximately 2 lbs / 0.9 kg.

For owners looking for increased power, improved response, and a more engaging flat-six exhaust note while retaining catalytic converters and avoiding the compromises of a fully catless system, the SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters provide a strong street-oriented upgrade.

EXHAUST SOUND:

SOUL specifically evaluated both separated-bank and X-pipe configurations when developing the 997.1 Sport Catalytic Converters.

SOUL found that incorporating an X-pipe into this section reduced overall volume and removed some of the deeper frequencies that contribute to the distinctive 997.1 flat-six sound.

The production Sport Catalytic Converters therefore retain separate left and right exhaust banks, producing a deeper, fuller exhaust note with more mechanical character and a subtle hint of rasp.

When paired with the factory rear mufflers, the result is an increase in sound and character while retaining much of the refinement of the original exhaust system.

Pairing the Sport Catalytic Converters with SOUL Sport Side Mufflers or the SOUL Valved Exhaust System will further increase overall exhaust volume and character.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT:

The SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters are designed to increase exhaust flow and performance while retaining effective catalytic conversion.

SOUL specifically developed this system to provide additional power and sound without triggering a check engine light under normal operating conditions.

As with any emissions-related component, vehicle condition, oxygen-sensor health, ECU calibration, and additional modifications can influence catalyst monitoring. DasMotoring does not guarantee that a check engine light can never occur.

EXISTING EXHAUST CONFIGURATION:

The 997.1 Carrera uses different catalytic converter configurations depending on whether the vehicle was originally equipped with standard exhaust or Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE).

The correct configuration must be selected when ordering:

• Non-PSE / Standard Factory Exhaust

• Factory Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE)

SPORT CAT VS. CAT BYPASS:

The SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters retain high-flow catalytic converters while improving exhaust flow, power, throttle response, and flat-six sound.

The SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes eliminate the catalytic converters entirely for a lighter, less restrictive, and substantially more aggressive exhaust configuration.

For owners who want increased performance and sound while retaining catalytic converters and SOUL's no-CEL design intent, the Sport Catalytic Converters provide the more street-oriented solution. For vehicles built around a fully catless exhaust configuration, the Cat Bypass Pipes provide the more aggressive alternative.

EMISSIONS / USE NOTE:

These components replace factory emissions-control equipment with aftermarket high-flow catalytic converters.

Aftermarket catalytic converter regulations vary by jurisdiction, and retaining catalytic converters does not necessarily mean an aftermarket component is approved for use on emissions-controlled vehicles in every location.

Customers are responsible for confirming compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations before installation or use.

Product Description

The SOUL Competition X-Pipe is designed for Porsche 997.1 Carrera owners looking to reduce exhaust restriction, decrease weight, and add a more aggressive naturally aspirated flat-six exhaust character. Replacing the factory center exhaust section with a freer-flowing X-pipe architecture improves exhaust flow through one of the most restrictive areas of the factory system.

SOUL developed the Competition X-Pipe around large-diameter mandrel-bent tubing and a crossover designed to improve flow between the two cylinder banks. The result is a lighter and less restrictive center exhaust section that works with both factory and upgraded rear mufflers.

Weight reduction is significant for a relatively compact exhaust component. The factory center section weighs approximately 15.65 lbs, while the SOUL Competition X-Pipe weighs approximately 10 lbs, saving approximately 5.65 lbs / 2.5 kg.

SOUND CHARACTER:

The Competition X-Pipe increases the amount of flat-six exhaust character that reaches the driver by reducing restriction through the center section and connecting the two exhaust banks through an X-pipe crossover.

When paired with the factory rear mufflers, the system provides a more aggressive version of the factory exhaust character while retaining much of the sound control provided by the original mufflers.

Pairing the Competition X-Pipe with SOUL Sport Side Mufflers or the SOUL Valved Exhaust System will further increase overall exhaust volume and create a substantially more aggressive complete exhaust configuration.

COMPETITION VS. SPORT CAT X-PIPE:

The SOUL Competition X-Pipe is the lighter and more free-flowing option, prioritizing reduced restriction, reduced weight, and increased exhaust character.

The SOUL Sport Cat X-Pipe incorporates 200-cell high-flow catalytic converters, providing increased exhaust flow while retaining a catted center section.

For owners prioritizing the least restrictive and lightest center exhaust configuration, the Competition X-Pipe provides the more aggressive solution. For owners who want increased flow while retaining high-flow catalytic converters, the Sport Cat X-Pipe provides the more street-oriented alternative.

EMISSIONS / USE NOTE:

The SOUL Competition X-Pipe is an aftermarket exhaust component and is not CARB certified.

Customers are responsible for confirming compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal emissions regulations before installation or use.

Product Description

The SOUL Sport Cat X-Pipe is designed for Porsche 997.1 Carrera owners looking to improve exhaust flow, engine response, performance, and naturally aspirated flat-six sound while retaining catalytic converters. Replacing the restrictive factory center exhaust section with a freer-flowing X-pipe and high-flow catalytic converters opens one of the major restrictions in the factory exhaust system without moving to a fully catless configuration.

SOUL developed the system around large-diameter exhaust tubing and an X-pipe crossover designed to improve flow between the two cylinder banks. The crossover helps blend exhaust pulses from each bank while reducing restriction through the center section, resulting in a stronger and more engaging flat-six exhaust character.

At the center of the system are SOUL-designed 200-cell high-flow catalytic converters. These catalysts use a custom-specified precious-metal coating and a triple metal-matrix core, providing significantly greater exhaust flow than the factory catalytic converters while retaining a catted exhaust configuration.

The SOUL Sport Cat X-Pipe also provides a modest reduction in weight. The factory components weigh approximately 15.65 lbs, while the SOUL assembly weighs approximately 13.5 lbs, saving approximately 2.15 lbs / 1.0 kg.

For owners looking to improve exhaust flow and naturally aspirated flat-six sound while retaining high-flow catalytic converters, the SOUL Sport Cat X-Pipe provides a strong street-oriented upgrade that pairs well with either the factory rear mufflers or an upgraded SOUL exhaust system.

200-CELL SPORT CATALYTIC CONVERTERS:

The SOUL Sport Cat X-Pipe uses 200-cell high-flow catalytic converters designed specifically around the balance between increased exhaust flow and retaining a catted exhaust configuration.

Each catalyst uses a custom-specified precious-metal coating and triple metal-matrix core engineered for durability under demanding operating conditions.

Compared with the restrictive factory catalytic converters, the SOUL 200-cell catalysts allow substantially greater exhaust flow while maintaining catalytic converters within the exhaust system.

SOUND CHARACTER:

Replacing the factory center section with the SOUL Sport Cat X-Pipe increases exhaust character throughout the rev range while allowing the rear muffler configuration to determine much of the system's overall volume.

When paired with the factory rear mufflers, the Sport Cat X-Pipe provides a more aggressive and engaging version of the factory exhaust character.

Pairing the X-pipe with SOUL Sport Side Mufflers or the SOUL Valved Exhaust System further increases overall exhaust volume and allows substantially more of the naturally aspirated flat-six sound to come through.

SPORT CAT X-PIPE VS. FACTORY CENTER SECTION:

The factory center exhaust section prioritizes emissions compliance and noise control, resulting in significant restriction through the catalytic converters.

The SOUL Sport Cat X-Pipe replaces this section with large-diameter piping, an X-pipe crossover, and 200-cell high-flow catalytic converters, improving exhaust flow while retaining catalytic converters.

For owners looking for increased performance and sound without converting the vehicle to a fully catless configuration, the Sport Cat X-Pipe provides the more street-oriented solution.

EMISSIONS / USE NOTE:

This product replaces factory emissions-control components with aftermarket high-flow catalytic converters.

Aftermarket catalytic converter regulations vary by jurisdiction, and retaining catalytic converters does not necessarily make an aftermarket exhaust component legal for use on emissions-controlled vehicles in every location.

Customers are responsible for confirming compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations before installation or use.

Product Description

The SOUL Sport Side Mufflers are designed for Porsche 997.1 Carrera owners who want a noticeably more engaging flat-six exhaust note while maintaining the refinement expected from a street-driven 911. Rather than chasing maximum volume, SOUL developed these mufflers to emphasize the mechanical character and tone of the naturally aspirated engine without introducing excessive rasp or highway drone.

SOUND CHARACTER:

The SOUL Sport Side Mufflers are designed around sound quality rather than maximum volume.

Under moderate and aggressive throttle, the system emphasizes the mechanical tone and naturally aspirated character of the 997.1 flat-six. During steady cruising, the proprietary mufflers provide a more restrained OEM+ presence while helping prevent the drone and harsh rasp that can occur with more aggressive muffler designs.

SOUL specifically developed these mufflers with high-flow catalytic converters in mind, making them a strong choice for owners who want additional exhaust volume without turning the car into an overly loud street setup.

STANDARD EXHAUST / PSE FITMENT:

The SOUL Sport Side Mufflers can be used on 997.1 Carrera models originally equipped with either the standard exhaust or factory Porsche Sport Exhaust.

Base Carrera models and vehicles converting from factory PSE must use SOUL exhaust tips for proper fitment.

To eliminate fitment ambiguity, this DasMotoring listing includes SOUL exhaust tips rather than relying on the customer's existing factory tips.

TIP CONFIGURATION:

This DasMotoring listing includes SOUL Polished Chrome exhaust tips.

VALVE OPERATION:

The SOUL Valved Exhaust defaults to the valves-closed position every time the vehicle is started. This provides a quieter and more refined startup before the driver chooses to open the valves.

Valve operation is controlled using the included SOUL remotes and can also be programmed to compatible factory HomeLink buttons, allowing convenient control from inside the vehicle.

With the valves closed, SOUL designed the system specifically to eliminate objectionable cruising drone. Opening the valves provides the system's substantially louder and more aggressive race-inspired exhaust mode.

EXISTING EXHAUST CONFIGURATION:

The SOUL Valved Exhaust is available for both non-PSE vehicles and vehicles originally equipped with factory Porsche Sport Exhaust.

Because the factory exhaust and tip configurations differ, the customer's existing exhaust configuration must be selected when ordering to ensure the correct SOUL system is supplied.

Available configurations:

• Non-PSE / Standard Factory Exhaust

• Factory Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE)

TIP CONFIGURATION:

This DasMotoring listing includes SOUL Polished Chrome exhaust tips.

Using SOUL tips provides a consistent fitment solution across the 997.1 Carrera range. SOUL specifically notes that certain base Carrera applications and vehicles originally equipped with factory PSE require SOUL exhaust tips for proper fitment.

To keep ordering simple, alternate tip finishes are not offered through the standard product options. If you would like another available SOUL tip finish, contact DasMotoring before ordering and we can confirm availability and pricing.

NOTE: SOUL has discontinued its Carbon Fiber tips for this system.

SOUND WITH AFTERMARKET CATALYTIC CONVERTERS:

The SOUL Valved Exhaust is designed to remain refined with the valves closed even when paired with aftermarket catalytic converters.
