Product Description

The SOUL Sport Cat Race Pipes combine the uncompromised, valveless Race Pipe architecture of SOUL's Competition system with 200-cell high-flow catalytic converters for the 2018–2020 Porsche 991.2 911 GT2 RS.

Unlike the standard SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters, which retain the GT2 RS's ECU-controlled exhaust valves and factory muffled exhaust path, the Sport Cat Race Pipes eliminate the active valve system entirely. Exhaust flows through high-flow catalysts and a direct race-oriented path to the rear of the vehicle at all times.

SOUL replaces the approximately 700-cell factory catalytic converters with 200-cell high-flow catalysts, dramatically reducing post-turbo restriction while retaining catalytic converters. The result is substantially increased turbocharger sound, a much stronger 3.8L twin-turbo flat-six exhaust note, improved exhaust-flow capacity, and consistent sound without the abrupt changes created by Porsche's factory valve operation.

Despite retaining catalysts, the system weighs only approximately 13.3 lbs, compared with approximately 29.2 lbs for the corresponding factory exhaust components, removing approximately 15.9 lbs / 6.8 kg from the rear of the GT2 RS.

RACE PIPE ARCHITECTURE WITH CATALYTIC CONVERTERS

The Sport Cat Race Pipes occupy a unique position within SOUL's GT2 RS exhaust lineup.

They combine two concepts:

Sport Catalytic Converters

and

Competition Race Pipes

The result is a system that retains high-flow catalysts while deleting the GT2 RS's factory exhaust valves and muffled exhaust architecture.

This provides:

• Significantly reduced exhaust restriction

• Consistent exhaust sound

• Considerably more turbocharger presence

• Major weight reduction

• Catalyst functionality

• Reduced exhaust odor compared with a completely catless system

200-CELL HIGH-FLOW CATALYTIC CONVERTERS

Porsche equips the factory GT2 RS exhaust with approximately:

700-cell catalytic converters

SOUL replaces them with:

200-cell high-flow catalytic converters

The substantially more open catalyst substrate reduces exhaust restriction immediately downstream of the turbochargers.

This provides increased:

• Exhaust-flow capacity

• Turbocharger sound

• Engine character

• Performance potential

while continuing to route the exhaust through catalytic-converter substrates.

700 CELL VS. 200 CELL

Catalyst cell count describes the density of the catalyst substrate.

A higher cell count generally creates a denser internal structure.

Moving from approximately:

700 cell → 200 cell

creates a substantially more open exhaust path.

For the GT2 RS, this allows more of the sound generated by the turbochargers and 3.8L flat-six to reach the rear of the vehicle while reducing restriction after the turbines.

RETAINS CATALYTIC CONVERTERS

Unlike the Competition Race Pipes, the Sport Cat Race Pipes remain catted.

This means they retain several practical advantages over a completely catless system:

• Reduced exhaust odor

• Catalyst functionality

• Reduced likelihood of catalyst-related diagnostic faults

• More conservative street behavior

• Less raw exhaust smell during idle and low-speed driving

They remain an aggressive race-oriented exhaust, but they avoid several of the compromises inherent to a completely catless setup.

NO ECU-CONTROLLED EXHAUST VALVES

The factory GT2 RS uses ECU-controlled exhaust valves to alternate between different exhaust paths.

SOUL completely eliminates those valves in the Sport Cat Race Pipe configuration.

There is:

No valves-open mode

and

No valves-closed mode.

Instead, the freer-flowing race exhaust path is active continuously.

CONSISTENT SOUND CHARACTER

SOUL specifically notes that removing the ECU-controlled valves creates a smoother and less abrupt exhaust experience.

The factory system can change character noticeably as Porsche commands its valves open or closed.

With the Sport Cat Race Pipes, the exhaust behavior remains consistent.

The driver receives:

• Turbocharger sound at all times

• A consistently stronger engine note

• No sudden valve-induced sound transition

• Immediate acoustic feedback with throttle input

NO FACTORY QUIET MODE

Removing the valves also means removing the GT2 RS's factory ability to significantly reduce exhaust volume through its muffled route.

Customers should expect considerably greater sound during:

• Cold starts

• Idle

• Normal acceleration

• Highway driving

• High-RPM operation

• Deceleration

This system should not be selected by a customer whose priority is maintaining the factory dual-personality exhaust behavior.

DRAMATICALLY INCREASED TURBO SOUND

SOUL's high-flow catalysts allow much more of the GT2 RS turbochargers' natural sound to pass through the exhaust.

Expect substantially increased:

• Turbo spool

• Turbine whistle

• Boost-related sound

• Mechanical turbocharger character

• Throttle-transition sound

Because the system has no valves, that turbo character is present continuously rather than depending on the ECU opening the factory exhaust path.

3.8L TWIN-TURBO FLAT-SIX CHARACTER

The reduced restriction and simplified exhaust architecture allow substantially more of the engine itself to be heard.

Expect:

• Stronger cold starts

• Increased idle presence

• Greater acceleration volume

• More high-RPM intensity

• Stronger gear-change events

• Increased deceleration character

• A more motorsport-oriented overall sound

TURBOS HELP MANAGE CRUISING RESONANCE

Even though the Race Pipe architecture does not use the factory muffled path, the GT2 RS's turbochargers naturally attenuate some exhaust-pulse energy.

SOUL notes that the turbos help keep cruising behavior more manageable than might otherwise be expected from such an aggressive race exhaust.

That should not be interpreted as a guarantee of factory-like refinement or zero drone.

This remains a loud, fixed-volume performance exhaust.

REDUCED POST-TURBO RESTRICTION

The catalytic converters are positioned directly downstream of the turbochargers.

Reducing restriction in this location gives the turbine outlets a freer path into the remainder of the exhaust.

The Sport Cat Race Pipes provide additional exhaust-flow capacity for:

• Factory engine output

• ECU tuning

• Increased boost

• Intake upgrades

• Intercooler upgrades

• Turbocharger upgrades

• Higher-output GT2 RS builds

15.9-LB WEIGHT REDUCTION

SOUL publishes the following weights:

Corresponding Factory Components:
Approximately 29.2 lbs / 13.2 kg

SOUL Sport Cat Race Pipes:
Approximately 13.3 lbs / 6.0 kg

Weight Savings:
Approximately 15.9 lbs / 6.8 kg

This represents approximately a:

54% reduction

in the mass of the components being replaced.

That is an especially useful reduction because this hardware is located toward the extreme rear of the 911.

WHY IT SAVES MORE WEIGHT THAN THE SPORT CATALYTIC CONVERTERS

The standalone Sport Catalytic Converters weigh approximately:

16.4 lbs

and save approximately:

1.9 lbs

The Sport Cat Race Pipes weigh approximately:

13.3 lbs

and save approximately:

15.9 lbs

The difference is not simply the catalyst construction.

The Sport Cat Race Pipes replace more of the factory exhaust architecture, including the valved/muffled arrangement.

That is why SOUL compares them against approximately 29.2 lbs of factory equipment rather than the 18.3-lb factory baseline used for the standalone Sport Catalytic Converters.

T304L STAINLESS CONSTRUCTION

SOUL fabricates the Race Pipes from:

T304L stainless steel

with:

.065-inch wall thickness

This provides:

• High-temperature durability

• Corrosion resistance

• Structural strength

• Low relative mass

• Long service life

• Suitability for repeated track heat cycles

MANDREL-BENT TUBING

Mandrel bending helps preserve the intended internal cross-sectional area as the piping follows the required route through the tightly packaged GT2 RS engine compartment.

This supports a smooth and consistent exhaust path.

CNC-CUT FLANGES

SOUL uses precision CNC-cut flanges at the required exhaust interfaces.

This helps maintain:

• Proper exhaust sealing

• Accurate fitment

• Consistent alignment

• Long-term durability

BACK-PURGED WELDS

All welds are back purged during fabrication.

Shielding the interior of the stainless tubing reduces oxidation during welding and promotes:

• Proper weld penetration

• Cleaner internal weld surfaces

• Increased durability

• Consistent internal flow

THICK-GAUGE ALUMINUM FABRICATION FIXTURES

Each system is fabricated and tested in a thick-gauge aluminum fixture.

The fixture helps prevent heat-induced distortion and maintains:

• Flange alignment

• Pipe geometry

• Outlet positioning

• Repeatable vehicle fitment

DIRECT BOLT-ON INSTALLATION

The Sport Cat Race Pipes are designed as a bolt-on replacement for the corresponding factory exhaust hardware.

No cutting or welding is required during normal installation.

Each system is fixture-tested and quality checked prior to shipment.

DEVELOPED FOR CEL-FREE OPERATION

SOUL specifically states that the high-flow catalyst configuration provides increased performance without a check engine light.

This is a major distinction from the completely catless Competition Race Pipes.

DasMotoring should treat this as SOUL's intended operating behavior rather than an unconditional guarantee on every modified vehicle.

Diagnostic behavior can still be influenced by:

• ECU calibration

• Oxygen-sensor condition

• Additional modifications

• Vehicle condition

• Catalyst condition over time

NO CATLESS EXHAUST FUMES

Because the Sport Cat Race Pipes retain 200-cell catalysts, they avoid the strong untreated-exhaust odor associated with completely catless systems.

That can make a meaningful difference during:

• Cold starts

• Garage operation

• Traffic

• Low-speed driving

• Windows-down driving

while still providing a much freer exhaust path than the approximately 700-cell factory catalysts.

ECU TUNING

SOUL does not specify ECU tuning as a requirement for normal installation.

The Sport Cat Race Pipes are developed around operating without catalyst-related check engine lights.

A performance calibration may still provide additional gains by taking advantage of the increased exhaust-flow capacity, especially on a modified GT2 RS.

NO PUBLISHED STANDALONE DYNO RESULT

SOUL states that the Sport Cat Race Pipes increase exhaust flow and performance potential.

However, the current product page does not publish a controlled factory-exhaust versus Sport-Cat-Race-Pipe dyno comparison.

DasMotoring therefore does not advertise a specific horsepower or torque increase for this system.

This comparison illustrates that catted versus catless is not the only decision in the GT2 RS catalog. Customers also need to decide whether retaining the factory exhaust-valve functionality matters to them.

EMISSIONS NOTE

The Sport Cat Race Pipes retain high-flow catalytic converters but replace the original Porsche catalyst and exhaust assemblies with aftermarket performance components.

SOUL states that the product is not CARB certified and may not be legal for use on emissions-controlled vehicles. It is designated for closed-course competition / off-road use only.

Customers are responsible for determining whether their complete vehicle configuration and intended use comply with applicable regulations.

Product Description

The SOUL Competition Race Pipes are the most aggressive exhaust configuration offered for the 2018–2020 Porsche 991.2 911 GT2 RS, replacing the factory catalytic converters, exhaust valves, and muffler architecture with an ultra-lightweight, completely catless and valveless straight-pipe system.

Unlike SOUL's Cat Bypass Pipes, which retain the factory exhaust valves and rear muffler, the Competition Race Pipes eliminate the GT2 RS's dual-mode exhaust architecture entirely. Exhaust flows directly from the turbocharger area toward the rear outlets without catalytic converters, ECU-controlled valves, or the factory muffler system.

The result is maximum turbocharger presence, an extremely aggressive 3.8L twin-turbo flat-six exhaust note, substantial reduction in exhaust restriction, and one of the largest weight reductions available within the SOUL GT2 RS exhaust lineup.

The complete SOUL Competition Race Pipe assembly weighs approximately 8.3 lbs, compared with approximately 29.2 lbs for the factory components it replaces, removing approximately 20.9 lbs / 9.4 kg from the rear of the GT2 RS.

FULL RACE EXHAUST ARCHITECTURE

The Competition Race Pipes are fundamentally different from the Cat Bypass Pipes we just cataloged.

The Cat Bypass Pipes remove the catalytic converters but retain:

• Exhaust valves

• Factory ECU valve control

• Factory rear muffler

• Quiet valves-closed operation

The Competition Race Pipes eliminate:

• Catalytic converters

• Exhaust valves

• ECU-controlled valve operation

• Factory muffler routing

The result is a fixed, straight-through exhaust path intended to maximize sound, flow, simplicity, and weight reduction.

CATLESS

The Competition Race Pipes completely remove the original Porsche catalytic converters.

This eliminates the catalyst substrates immediately downstream of the turbochargers and allows exhaust gases to flow through a substantially less restrictive path.

Benefits include:

• Maximum catalyst-section flow

• Increased turbocharger sound

• Increased exhaust volume

• Reduced exhaust-system mass

• Greater performance potential on modified vehicles

This configuration also introduces the emissions, exhaust-odor, and diagnostic consequences associated with removing the factory catalysts.

VALUELESS DESIGN

The factory GT2 RS uses ECU-controlled exhaust valves to vary how much exhaust flows directly toward the tips versus through the factory muffler system.

The Competition Race Pipes remove that functionality entirely.

There is:

No valves-open mode.

No valves-closed mode.

No ECU-controlled exhaust-volume change.

The race exhaust path is active continuously.

NO FACTORY QUIET MODE

This distinction is particularly important for GT2 RS customers.

With SOUL's:

Cat Bypass Pipes

or

Sport Catalytic Converters

the factory valves and muffler continue providing a comparatively restrained valves-closed mode.

With the Competition Race Pipes, that capability is removed.

Customers should expect the car to remain aggressive at all times.

EXTREMELY LOUD

SOUL explicitly warns that the Competition Race Pipes are:

very loud.

This is a straight-pipe race configuration on a 700-horsepower twin-turbo GT2 RS.

Expect a dramatic increase in:

• Cold-start volume

• Turbocharger spool

• Turbine sound

• Flat-six engine note

• Acceleration volume

• High-RPM intensity

• Shift-related sound

• Deceleration character

• Overall cabin presence

This is not intended to provide factory-like refinement.

TURBOCHARGER SOUND

Removing both the catalytic converters and the factory muffled/valved architecture makes the turbochargers dramatically more audible.

Expect substantially more:

• Turbo spool

• Turbine whistle

• Boost-related sound

• Throttle-transition sound

• Mechanical turbocharger character

SOUL describes the turbo note as intense essentially all the time rather than only when the factory ECU decides to open the exhaust valves.

3.8L FLAT-SIX SOUND

The Competition Race Pipes also allow substantially more of the GT2 RS engine's combustion and exhaust-pulse character to reach the rear outlets.

Expect a much bolder:

• Idle

• Acceleration note

• Midrange exhaust character

• High-RPM roar

• Gear-change sound

• Deceleration note

The system prioritizes motorsport character rather than acoustic isolation.

TURBOS HELP CONTROL CRUISING DRONE

Despite the absence of mufflers and valves, SOUL notes that the turbochargers themselves provide some acoustic attenuation during steady-state cruising.

Turbocharger turbines naturally interrupt and absorb some exhaust-pulse energy before the gases enter the downstream exhaust system.

SOUL therefore describes cruising resonance as more manageable than might be expected from a completely straight-piped naturally aspirated engine.

That does not mean the Competition Race Pipes are quiet or drone-free.

They remain an extremely aggressive race exhaust.

MAXIMUM FLOW

Eliminating the:

• Catalytic substrates

• Valve assemblies

• Factory muffler path

removes multiple restrictions from the exhaust system.

The resulting straight-through architecture provides substantial exhaust-flow capacity for:

• Factory power levels

• ECU tuning

• Increased boost

• Intake modifications

• Intercooler upgrades

• Turbocharger upgrades

• Higher-output engine builds

20.9-LB WEIGHT REDUCTION

SOUL publishes:

Factory Components:
approximately 29.2 lbs / 13.2 kg

SOUL Competition Race Pipes:
approximately 8.3 lbs / 3.8 kg

Weight Savings:
approximately 20.9 lbs / 9.4 kg

That represents roughly a:

72% reduction

in the weight of the corresponding factory exhaust components.

This is one of the most significant weight reductions within SOUL's GT2 RS exhaust catalog.

WHY THE FACTORY WEIGHT IS 29.2 LBS HERE

The Competition Race Pipe weight comparison should not be confused with the Cat Bypass Pipe comparison.

SOUL's Cat Bypass Pipes replace only the factory catalyst/valve sections and are compared with approximately:

18.3 lbs of factory hardware

The Competition Race Pipes eliminate more of the factory exhaust architecture, so SOUL compares them with approximately:

29.2 lbs of factory components

This is why:

Cat Bypass Pipes save 6.9 lbs

while:

Competition Race Pipes save 20.9 lbs

The two weight figures represent different amounts of factory hardware being replaced.

T304L STAINLESS CONSTRUCTION

SOUL fabricates the Competition Race Pipes from:

T304L stainless steel

with:

.065-inch wall thickness

T304L provides:

• High-temperature durability

• Corrosion resistance

• Structural strength

• Low mass

• Long service life

• Suitability for repeated track heat cycles

MANDREL-BENT TUBING

SOUL uses mandrel-bent tubing to maintain the intended internal cross section through the exhaust routing.

This minimizes unwanted deformation through bends and supports a smooth exhaust-flow path.

CNC-CUT FLANGES

The Race Pipes use precision CNC-cut flanges at the required mounting interfaces.

Accurate flange geometry helps maintain:

• Exhaust sealing

• Proper alignment

• Installation consistency

• Long-term durability

BACK-PURGED WELDS

All welds are back purged during fabrication.

Shielding the inside of the stainless tubing during welding helps provide:

• Cleaner internal weld surfaces

• Reduced oxidation

• Proper weld penetration

• Greater long-term durability

This is especially valuable on exhaust components exposed to sustained track temperatures.

THICK-GAUGE ALUMINUM FABRICATION FIXTURES

SOUL constructs each system in a thick-gauge aluminum fixture.

The fixture helps control heat distortion during fabrication and maintains:

• Flange location

• Pipe alignment

• Outlet positioning

• Repeatable vehicle fitment

FIXTURE-TESTED FITMENT

Every set is tested in its production fixture before shipment.

SOUL then performs a final quality-control inspection and foam packs the components for transportation.

DIRECT BOLT-ON INSTALLATION

The Competition Race Pipes are designed as a bolt-on replacement for the corresponding factory exhaust hardware.

No permanent chassis modification is required during normal installation.

Because this product replaces significantly more hardware than the standalone Cat Bypass Pipes, installation is more involved than a simple rear exhaust-tip or muffler modification.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

Because the Competition Race Pipes completely eliminate the factory catalytic converters, the vehicle may detect that catalyst functionality is no longer present.

SOUL states that the system:

may trigger a check engine light.

DasMotoring therefore does not represent this system as CEL-free.

O2 SPACERS

SOUL notes that O2 spacers are available separately to reduce the likelihood of catalyst-related diagnostic faults.

They are not included as part of the standard Competition Race Pipe SKU.

DasMotoring does not represent O2 spacers as a guaranteed CEL-prevention solution.

ECU TUNING

SOUL recommends an appropriate custom ECU calibration for catalyst-related CEL management on competition vehicles.

A tune is not required for the Race Pipes to physically bolt onto the vehicle.

A suitable performance calibration may also allow a modified GT2 RS to take greater advantage of the system's reduced exhaust restriction.

NO PUBLISHED STANDALONE DYNO RESULT

SOUL describes the Competition Race Pipes as producing major increases in exhaust flow.

However, the current product page does not publish a controlled stock-exhaust versus Competition-Race-Pipe dyno comparison.

DasMotoring therefore does not advertise a specific horsepower or torque increase for the system.

Product Description

The SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters are a high-flow catted performance upgrade for the 2018–2020 Porsche 991.2 911 GT2 RS, replacing the restrictive factory catalyst assemblies with 200-cell high-flow catalytic converters, larger exhaust valves, and optimized outlet geometry.

The factory GT2 RS uses approximately 700-cell catalytic converters. SOUL reduces catalyst density to 200 cells, significantly improving exhaust flow while retaining catalytic converters and avoiding the fumes and catalyst-monitoring concerns associated with a fully catless system.

SOUL also enlarges the exhaust valves from approximately 67 mm factory to 76 mm, while increasing flow toward the direct exhaust-tip outlets when the valves are open. This allows significantly more turbocharger sound and exhaust character to reach the driver while retaining the GT2 RS's factory muffled exhaust path when the valves close.

The complete SOUL assemblies weigh approximately 16.4 lbs compared with 18.3 lbs for the factory components, reducing rear exhaust-system weight by approximately 1.9 lbs / 0.8 kg.

200-CELL HIGH-FLOW CATALYTIC CONVERTERS

The factory GT2 RS uses approximately:

700-cell catalytic converters

SOUL replaces them with:

200-cell high-flow catalytic converters

Reducing catalyst-cell density significantly increases the open flow area available to the exhaust gases leaving the turbochargers.

The result is substantially less restriction while still retaining catalytic converters.

This provides a useful middle ground between:

Factory Catalysts

and

Completely Catless Bypass Pipes

700 CELL VS. 200 CELL

Catalyst cell count describes the density of the catalyst substrate.

The factory approximately 700-cell design provides a comparatively dense matrix through which the exhaust must travel.

SOUL's 200-cell design uses a much more open substrate.

This provides:

• Greater exhaust-flow capacity

• Reduced post-turbo restriction

• Increased turbocharger sound

• Stronger exhaust character

• Greater performance potential

while continuing to route exhaust gases through catalytic-converter material.

RETAINS CATALYTIC CONVERTERS

Unlike the SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes, these Sport Catalytic Converters do not eliminate the catalysts.

This means the exhaust continues to receive catalyst treatment while gaining much of the flow and acoustic benefit associated with a less restrictive catalyst section.

For a GT2 RS that sees substantial street use, the Sport Catalytic Converters provide a more conservative configuration than going completely catless.

DEVELOPED WITHOUT A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

SOUL specifically developed the Sport Catalytic Converters to provide increased flow and performance without catalyst-related check engine lights.

This is one of the major advantages compared with the Cat Bypass Pipes.

For DasMotoring purposes, this should be understood as SOUL's intended operating behavior rather than an unconditional guarantee for every modified vehicle.

Diagnostic behavior can still potentially be influenced by:

• ECU software

• Oxygen-sensor condition

• Additional engine modifications

• Vehicle condition

• Catalyst condition over time

NO NOXIOUS CATLESS EXHAUST FUMES

SOUL also specifically highlights the ability of the Sport Catalytic Converters to provide the increased turbo sound and flow associated with a freer exhaust without the strong exhaust odor associated with completely catless systems.

This is particularly important for a street-driven GT2 RS where exhaust fumes can become noticeable:

• At idle

• During cold starts

• In traffic

• With windows open

• Inside enclosed garages

• During low-speed maneuvering

LARGER 76 MM EXHAUST VALVES

SOUL does more than change the catalyst substrate.

The replacement assemblies incorporate exhaust valves measuring approximately:

76 mm outside diameter

compared with approximately:

67 mm factory

That represents roughly a:

13% increase in valve diameter

and approximately:

29% more nominal circular area

before accounting for the actual internal geometry of the valve assembly.

This helps prevent the exhaust valve itself from becoming the next major restriction after replacing the factory catalysts.

INCREASED PRIORITY FLOW

SOUL also modifies the routing surrounding the valve and outlet.

With the valves open, additional exhaust flow is directed toward the direct tip outlet.

This increases:

• Exhaust flow

• Turbocharger sound

• Exterior volume

• Flat-six character

• Performance potential

during aggressive operation.

VALVES OPEN

With the exhaust valves open, the Sport Catalytic Converters allow substantially more sound and flow toward the direct rear outlets.

Expect significantly more:

• Turbo spool

• Turbo whistle

• Turbine sound

• High-load engine note

• Acceleration volume

• Exhaust pulse definition

• High-RPM intensity

The lower-density catalysts allow much more of the GT2 RS's turbocharger character to pass through than the approximately 700-cell factory catalysts.

VALVES CLOSED

The GT2 RS retains its quieter operating path.

With the exhaust valves closed, gases continue through the factory rear muffler system.

This significantly reduces sound compared with the valves-open route.

The Sport Catalytic Converters therefore preserve a key advantage of Porsche's original exhaust architecture:

Aggressive when open.

Considerably more restrained when closed.

RETAINS FACTORY VALVE CONTROL

The SOUL assemblies retain the GT2 RS's factory-controlled exhaust-valve functionality.

Porsche's ECU can therefore continue controlling valve position according to its programmed strategy.

Customers wanting independent manual control may choose a compatible aftermarket valve controller, but one is not required for normal operation of the Sport Catalytic Converters.

DRAMATICALLY INCREASED TURBO SOUND

The GT2 RS's factory catalyst substrates absorb a substantial amount of the acoustic energy generated by the turbochargers.

Moving from approximately 700 cells to 200 cells makes the turbochargers considerably easier to hear.

Expect more:

• Turbo spool

• Turbine whistle

• Boost-related sound

• Throttle-transition sound

• Mechanical turbocharger character

SOUL describes the turbos as being clearly audible with the upgraded catalysts.

STRONGER 3.8L FLAT-SIX CHARACTER

The freer catalyst substrate also transmits more of the GT2 RS engine's exhaust character.

Expect:

• Greater acceleration volume

• Deeper and more pronounced engine note

• Increased high-RPM intensity

• Stronger throttle feedback

• More audible shift events

• More prominent deceleration character

The final sound level will depend on the downstream exhaust configuration.

REDUCED POST-TURBO RESTRICTION

The catalytic converters are positioned immediately downstream of the GT2 RS turbochargers.

Reducing restriction in this location gives the turbines a freer exhaust path.

The SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters provide greater post-turbo flow capacity for:

• Factory engine output

• ECU-tuned vehicles

• Increased boost

• Intake upgrades

• Intercooler upgrades

• Higher-output engine builds

2.5-INCH TUBING

The assemblies are constructed around:

2.5-inch-diameter tubing

SOUL uses the same basic large-diameter architecture for both its Sport Catalytic Converters and Cat Bypass Pipe assemblies, with the primary distinction being the presence of the high-flow catalyst substrates.

.065-INCH T304L STAINLESS CONSTRUCTION

SOUL fabricates the assemblies from:

.065-inch-wall T304L stainless steel

This provides:

• High-temperature durability

• Corrosion resistance

• Structural strength

• Long service life

• Consistent fabrication

• Suitability for repeated track heat cycles

CNC-CUT FLANGES

SOUL uses CNC-cut flanges to maintain precise geometry at the exhaust-system interfaces.

Accurate flange geometry helps ensure:

• Proper sealing

• Correct alignment

• Consistent installation

• Long-term durability

LASER-CUT BRACKETS

Precision laser-cut brackets locate and support the Sport Catalytic Converter assemblies within the tight GT2 RS engine compartment.

This helps maintain:

• Correct catalyst positioning

• Valve alignment

• Muffler-path positioning

• Direct-outlet positioning

• Chassis clearance

HAND-FABRICATED OUTLET PIPES

The outlet sections are hand fabricated to accommodate the GT2 RS's unusual dual-flow-path exhaust design.

These sections determine how exhaust is divided between:

• The direct tip outlet

and

• The factory muffled route

The geometry therefore plays an important role in both exhaust flow and sound.

BACK-PURGED WELDS

SOUL back purges the stainless tubing during welding.

Shielding the inside of the tubing helps reduce oxidation and promotes:

• Cleaner internal weld surfaces

• Better weld penetration

• Long-term durability

• Consistent internal exhaust-flow surfaces

THICK-GAUGE ALUMINUM FABRICATION FIXTURES

Each set is built and tested in a thick-gauge aluminum fixture.

The fixture helps prevent warping during fabrication and maintains:

• Flange alignment

• Valve position

• Pipe geometry

• Outlet positioning

• Repeatable vehicle fitment

1.9-LB WEIGHT REDUCTION

SOUL publishes the following component weights:

Factory Catalyst Assemblies:
Approximately 18.3 lbs / 8.3 kg

SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters:
Approximately 16.4 lbs / 7.4 kg

Weight Savings:
Approximately 1.9 lbs / 0.8 kg

That represents approximately a:

10.4% reduction

in the mass of the catalyst assemblies being replaced.

The weight reduction is modest compared with the Cat Bypass Pipes because the Sport Catalytic Converters retain substantial catalyst substrates.

DIRECT BOLT-ON INSTALLATION

The Sport Catalytic Converters are designed as direct replacements for the original Porsche catalyst assemblies.

The system interfaces with the existing:

• Turbocharger outlets

• Rear muffler

• Exhaust-valve controls

• Exhaust-tip flow path

No permanent chassis modification is required for normal installation.

NO ECU TUNE REQUIRED

SOUL does not specify ECU tuning as a requirement for installing the Sport Catalytic Converters.

They are specifically developed to operate with the vehicle's catalyst-monitoring system without producing a check engine light under normal conditions.

ECU calibration may still provide additional performance benefits on modified vehicles, but it is not required simply to install the catalysts.

NO PUBLISHED STANDALONE DYNO NUMBER

SOUL states that the Sport Catalytic Converters increase exhaust flow and power.

However, the current product page does not publish a controlled factory-catalyst versus Sport-Catalyst dyno comparison.

DasMotoring therefore does not advertise a specific horsepower or torque gain from this component alone.

EMISSIONS NOTE

The SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters retain catalytic converters but replace Porsche's original catalyst assemblies with aftermarket 200-cell high-flow components.

They should not be represented as original-equipment emissions hardware.

Customers are responsible for determining whether the product and their complete vehicle configuration comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Product Description

The SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes are a complete catless catalyst-section upgrade for the 2018–2020 Porsche 991.2 911 GT2 RS, engineered to remove the restrictive factory catalytic converters while preserving the GT2 RS's factory-controlled dual-mode exhaust functionality.

Rather than simply replacing the catalysts with straight pipes, SOUL redesigns the complete section using 2.5-inch T304L stainless-steel tubing, larger 76 mm exhaust valves, and enlarged hand-fabricated outlet sections. The factory valves measure approximately 67 mm, giving the SOUL system a substantially larger flow path when the valves are open.

With the valves open, exhaust receives priority flow directly toward the rear exhaust outlets, dramatically increasing turbocharger sound, exhaust volume, and flow. When the valves close, exhaust continues through the factory muffler system, allowing the GT2 RS to retain a considerably more reserved sound level.

The SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes weigh approximately 11.4 lbs compared with 18.3 lbs for the factory catalyst assemblies, saving approximately 6.9 lbs / 3.1 kg from the rear of the vehicle.

COMPLETE CATALYTIC-CONVERTER DELETE

The factory GT2 RS places catalytic converters immediately downstream of its two large turbochargers.

Those catalyst substrates restrict exhaust flow while also absorbing a significant amount of the:

• Turbo spool

• Turbine whistle

• Exhaust pulse

• Flat-six engine character

generated by the 3.8L twin-turbo engine.

SOUL completely removes the catalyst substrates and replaces the assemblies with freer-flowing stainless-steel bypass sections.

The result is a considerably less restrictive exhaust path immediately after the turbochargers.

NOT JUST A STRAIGHT CAT-DELETE PIPE

The GT2 RS Cat Bypass Pipes are more sophisticated than a conventional straight catalyst-delete pipe.

The factory catalyst section is integrated into the vehicle's valved exhaust architecture.

SOUL therefore replaces not only the catalyst section but also incorporates:

• Larger exhaust valves

• Revised flow routing

• Enlarged outlet geometry

• Mounting brackets

• Connections to the factory muffler path

This preserves the GT2 RS's ability to behave very differently depending on valve position.

76 MM SOUL EXHAUST VALVES

SOUL increases exhaust-valve diameter from approximately:

67 mm factory

to:

76 mm SOUL

This represents roughly a:

13% increase in valve diameter

and a substantially greater available flow area when the valve is fully open.

A larger valve reduces the restriction presented at one of the most important junctions in the GT2 RS exhaust.

INCREASED VALVE FLOW AREA

Because cross-sectional area increases with the square of diameter, moving from 67 mm to 76 mm represents approximately:

29% more nominal circular valve area

before accounting for the specific internal geometry of the valve assembly.

This helps explain why SOUL focused not only on removing the catalysts but also on increasing valve size.

The goal is to avoid eliminating catalyst restriction only to leave another unnecessary restriction immediately downstream.

PRIORITY FLOW TO THE EXHAUST OUTLETS

SOUL specifically redesigned the system so that, with the valves open, exhaust receives greater priority toward the direct exhaust-tip outlets.

This increases:

• Exhaust flow

• Exterior volume

• Turbocharger sound

• Engine character

• High-load exhaust presence

The system therefore makes full use of the valves-open operating condition rather than merely replicating the factory routing with the catalyst substrate removed.

VALVES OPEN

When the exhaust valves open, expect a dramatic transformation in the GT2 RS's sound.

The removal of the catalysts allows substantially more:

• Turbo spool

• Turbo whistle

• Turbine sound

• Exhaust pulse

• Flat-six character

• High-RPM exhaust volume

to reach the rear outlets.

SOUL describes the result as a motorsport-inspired roar with a particularly pronounced turbocharger note.

VALVES CLOSED

Despite the aggressive catless configuration, the GT2 RS retains a useful quieter operating mode.

With the valves closed, exhaust continues through the factory rear muffler.

This keeps overall volume and exhaust tone considerably more reserved than the valves-open configuration.

That makes these Cat Bypass Pipes fundamentally different from a completely unmuffled straight-pipe system.

FACTORY-CONTROLLED VALVE BEHAVIOR

Under normal operation, Porsche's ECU continues controlling exhaust-valve behavior.

The vehicle can therefore determine when the valves open or close based on its factory programming.

Customers seeking full manual control over valve position may use a compatible aftermarket valve controller.

This can be particularly useful for drivers who want the valves fully open independently of Porsche's factory strategy.

TURBOCHARGER SOUND

The 991.2 GT2 RS uses a 700-horsepower 3.8L twin-turbocharged flat-six.

The factory catalyst assemblies substantially attenuate the acoustic signature of those turbochargers.

Removing the catalyst substrates makes considerably more of the following audible:

• Compressor and turbine activity

• Turbo spool

• High-load turbine whistle

• Throttle transitions

• Boost-related sound

For many GT2 RS owners, this is one of the most noticeable changes produced by the Cat Bypass Pipes.

MORE AGGRESSIVE FLAT-SIX CHARACTER

The catalyst removal also allows more combustion and exhaust-pulse energy to reach the rear of the vehicle.

Expect:

• Louder acceleration

• More high-RPM intensity

• Greater throttle-related feedback

• Stronger shift events

• More pronounced deceleration behavior

• Increased motorsport character

Overall sound will depend on what downstream muffler or exhaust system is installed.

2.5-INCH MAIN TUBING

SOUL constructs the primary bypass sections from:

2.5-inch-diameter tubing

The design is focused on maximizing the available flow through the catalyst section while maintaining proper packaging around the GT2 RS's turbocharger and rear-exhaust architecture.

ENLARGED OUTLET DESIGN

In addition to the larger 76 mm valves, SOUL enlarges the exhaust outlet geometry leading toward the rear tip path.

The goal is to increase flow through the path that becomes active when the exhaust valves open.

This works together with:

• Catalyst deletion

• Larger valves

• Revised internal routing

• CAD-developed geometry

to reduce restriction throughout the complete assembly.

REDUCED POST-TURBO RESTRICTION

The turbine side of each turbocharger must discharge exhaust into the downstream exhaust system.

Removing restrictive catalyst substrates reduces the pressure the exhaust encounters immediately downstream of the turbine.

This provides additional exhaust-flow capacity for:

• Factory power levels

• ECU-tuned vehicles

• Increased boost

• Higher-output builds

• Modified intake and cooling systems

• Other supporting engine upgrades

6.9-LB WEIGHT REDUCTION

SOUL publishes the following weights:

Factory Catalyst Assemblies:
Approximately 18.3 lbs / 8.3 kg

SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes:
Approximately 11.4 lbs / 5.2 kg

Weight Savings:
Approximately 6.9 lbs / 3.1 kg

This represents approximately a:

38% reduction

in the weight of the components being replaced.

Because the components are positioned at the rear of a rear-engined vehicle, the weight reduction is particularly useful for a track-focused platform such as the GT2 RS.

.065-INCH T304L STAINLESS CONSTRUCTION

The Cat Bypass Pipes are fabricated from:

.065-inch-wall T304L stainless steel

T304L provides:

• High-temperature durability

• Corrosion resistance

• Structural strength

• Consistent fabrication characteristics

• Long service life

• Suitability for repeated track heat cycles

MANDREL-BENT TUBING

The tubing is mandrel bent to maintain the intended internal cross-sectional area through bends.

This helps preserve:

• Consistent exhaust diameter

• Smooth flow paths

• Exhaust-gas velocity

• Predictable fitment

HAND-FABRICATED OUTLET PIPES

SOUL hand fabricates the outlet sections to create the geometry required around the GT2 RS's valved exhaust layout.

These outlet sections are particularly important because they control how exhaust is divided between the direct outlet and factory muffled route.

PREMIUM EXHAUST VALVES

The SOUL assemblies incorporate their own larger premium exhaust valves as part of the replacement catalyst sections.

The valves are therefore an integrated part of the Cat Bypass Pipe design rather than a separate accessory.

LASER-CUT BRACKETS

Precision laser-cut brackets are used to locate and support the assemblies within the tight packaging of the GT2 RS rear chassis.

Accurate bracket geometry helps maintain:

• Exhaust alignment

• Valve alignment

• Muffler-path positioning

• Tip-path positioning

• Chassis clearance

BACK-PURGED WELDING

SOUL back purges the tubing during welding.

Protecting the interior of the stainless tubing with shielding gas helps prevent excessive oxidation and promotes:

• Cleaner internal weld surfaces

• Proper weld penetration

• Improved long-term durability

• Consistent exhaust flow

THICK-GAUGE ALUMINUM FABRICATION FIXTURES

Each set is constructed in a thick-gauge aluminum fixture.

The fixture helps act as a heat sink during fabrication and reduces distortion caused by the substantial heat introduced during welding.

This helps maintain:

• Valve position

• Flange alignment

• Pipe geometry

• Outlet positioning

• Repeatable vehicle fitment

FIXTURE-TESTED BEFORE SHIPPING

Each completed assembly undergoes a fitment and quality-control inspection before shipment.

SOUL verifies the system in its production fixture and foam packs the finished components to protect them during transport.

DIRECT BOLT-ON INSTALLATION

The Cat Bypass Pipes are designed to replace the factory catalyst assemblies without requiring permanent chassis modification.

No cutting or welding should be necessary during normal installation.

The system interfaces with the vehicle's existing:

• Turbocharger outlets

• Rear exhaust

• Muffler architecture

• Exhaust-valve controls

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

Because the SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes completely remove the factory catalytic converters, the vehicle may detect that catalyst functionality is no longer present.

SOUL explicitly states that the product:

may trigger a check engine light.

DasMotoring therefore does not advertise this product as CEL-free.

ECU TUNING

An ECU calibration is not required for the physical installation of the Cat Bypass Pipes.

However, SOUL recommends an appropriate custom ECU calibration to address catalyst-related diagnostic faults on vehicles used for track or competition purposes.

Tuning may also allow the engine calibration to take greater advantage of the reduced post-turbo restriction.

NO PUBLISHED STANDALONE DYNO NUMBER

SOUL states that the revised system increases exhaust flow and power potential.

However, the current product page does not publish a controlled factory-catalyst versus Cat-Bypass before-and-after dyno comparison.

DasMotoring therefore does not advertise a specific horsepower or torque gain for this product alone.

CAT BYPASS PIPES VS. SPORT CATALYTIC CONVERTERS

SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes

• $4,555.00

• Completely catless

• 2.5-inch T304L main tubing

• 76 mm exhaust valves

• Maximum catalyst-section sound

• Maximum catalyst-section flow

• Approximately 11.4 lbs

• Saves approximately 6.9 lbs

• May trigger catalyst-related CELs

• Competition-oriented configuration

SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters

• Retain high-flow catalytic converters

• Retain dual-mode valve functionality

• More conservative emissions configuration

• Increased flow compared with the factory catalysts

• Less aggressive turbocharger sound

• Greater purchase price

• More street-oriented configuration

For customers prioritizing maximum sound, flow, and weight reduction, the Cat Bypass Pipes are the more aggressive option.

CAT BYPASS PIPES VS. RACE PIPES

SOUL also offers separate Race Pipes for the 991.2 GT2 RS.

The Cat Bypass Pipes replace the catalyst sections while retaining the factory-style dual-path exhaust architecture and valves.

The Race Pipes are a separate downstream component and should not be confused with these catalyst-delete assemblies.

The two components can be selected independently depending on the customer's desired sound, flow, and overall exhaust configuration.

EMISSIONS / COMPETITION USE NOTE

The SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes completely remove the factory catalytic converters.

This configuration is intended for closed-course / competition use where catalyst retention is not required.

Use on an emissions-controlled vehicle operated on public roads may violate applicable emissions regulations.

Customers are responsible for determining the legality of their complete vehicle configuration and intended use.

GT2 STYLE SINGLE WALL

The GT2 Style Single Wall configuration provides the more aggressive of the two available appearances.

The single-wall construction keeps the assembly relatively lightweight while changing the visual character of the rear of the 991 Turbo.

SOUL finishes the tips in its Signature Satin finish for a subdued metallic appearance rather than a highly polished chrome look.

Weight: approximately 4.4 lbs per set

Compared with the approximately 5.35-lb factory tip assembly, the GT2 Style tips save approximately:

0.95 lb / 0.43 kg

This represents roughly an 18% reduction in tip weight.

STRAIGHT CUT SINGLE WALL

The Straight Cut Single Wall configuration provides a simpler, traditional motorsport-inspired appearance.

Rather than the GT2-style shape, the outlets use a cleaner straight termination.

The Straight Cut configuration is also finished in:

Signature Satin

and is slightly lighter than the GT2 Style version.

Weight: approximately 4.3 lbs per set

Compared with the approximately 5.35-lb factory tips, the Straight Cut set saves approximately:

1.05 lbs / 0.48 kg

This represents roughly a 20% reduction in tip weight.

WEIGHT COMPARISON

Factory Porsche Tips:
Approximately 5.35 lbs

SOUL GT2 Style Single Wall Tips:
Approximately 4.4 lbs

Weight Savings:
Approximately 0.95 lb

SOUL Straight Cut Single Wall Tips:
Approximately 4.3 lbs

Weight Savings:
Approximately 1.05 lbs

The weight reduction is modest compared with replacing larger exhaust components, so this product should primarily be viewed as an appearance upgrade with a small secondary weight benefit.

DIRECT BOLT-ON INSTALLATION

SOUL designed these tips to install directly onto the factory-style exhaust interface.

No:

• Cutting

• Welding

• ECU programming

• Exhaust-system modification

is required for normal installation.

SOUL describes installation as taking only minutes with basic hand tools.

INTERNAL ALIGNMENT RINGS

Each exhaust tip incorporates an internal alignment ring.

This gives the installer some positional adjustment before final clamp tightening, allowing the outlets to be properly centered within the rear bumper.

This is particularly useful for achieving:

• Consistent left-to-right positioning

• Even tip projection

• Proper bumper clearance

• Symmetrical appearance

• Final adjustment after exhaust-system installation

The clamps can then be tightened after the desired position is established.

MIKALOR SUPRA HEAVY-DUTY W4 CLAMPS

SOUL supplies Mikalor Supra Heavy-Duty W4 clamps with each set.

These clamps are designed to apply substantial and consistent clamping force around the exhaust connection.

SOUL specifies features including:

• Stainless-steel construction

• High-strength stainless-steel bolt

• Swinging bridge

• Captive nut

• Trunnion-style clamp hardware

• Projection-welded construction

This provides a secure mechanical connection while still allowing the tips to be removed or repositioned later.

SINGLE-WALL CONSTRUCTION

Both SOUL options use a single-wall design.

Compared with a heavier multi-wall decorative exhaust tip, the single-wall construction helps minimize unnecessary mass while retaining a clean finished appearance.

This contributes to both SOUL tip configurations weighing less than the original Porsche tip assembly.

SIGNATURE SATIN FINISH

Both current tip styles are offered in SOUL's Signature Satin finish.

The finish provides a subdued stainless-steel appearance that works well with the 991 Turbo's rear styling without the highly reflective appearance of polished chrome.

There are currently no separate:

• Black

• Polished

• Brushed

• Carbon Fiber

variants shown for this 991 Turbo Bolt-On Tip product.

COMPATIBLE WITH FACTORY EXHAUST

The SOUL tips can be installed on a 991 Turbo retaining its complete factory exhaust system.

This allows owners to change the rear appearance without replacing:

• Catalytic converters

• Rear exhaust

• Mufflers

• Turbochargers

• Engine-management components

For a stock vehicle, this is purely a bolt-on downstream modification.

COMPATIBLE WITH SOUL EXHAUST SYSTEMS

The same tips can also be used with applicable SOUL 991 Turbo exhaust systems using the factory-style tip interface.

This includes compatible configurations of SOUL's:

• X-Pipe Exhaust

• Sport X-Pipe Exhaust

• Competition X-Pipe Exhaust

• Valved Exhaust System

This also explains why the same GT2 Style and Straight Cut options appear throughout the SOUL 991 Turbo exhaust catalog.

COMPATIBLE WITH OTHER AFTERMARKET EXHAUSTS

SOUL specifies compatibility with other aftermarket exhaust systems that accept the factory Porsche exhaust tips.

This means compatibility depends on the downstream exhaust retaining the appropriate factory-style mounting interface.

For an unknown third-party exhaust system, that interface should be verified before ordering.

TURBO S EXCLUSIVE SERIES

These SOUL tips are particularly useful for the 991.2 Turbo S Exclusive Series.

On several SOUL complete 991 Turbo exhaust systems, the Exclusive Series cannot reuse its original Porsche exhaust tips.

SOUL's GT2 Style or Straight Cut tips therefore provide the appropriate SOUL tip solution when fitting those exhaust systems to an Exclusive Series car.

NO ENGINE PERFORMANCE CHANGE

These exhaust tips are installed at the very end of the exhaust system and are intended primarily as an aesthetic modification.

SOUL does not publish a horsepower or torque increase for either tip design.

Installing the tips does not change:

• Turbocharger boost

• Catalyst flow

• Header flow

• ECU calibration

• Oxygen-sensor operation

• Engine-management strategy

DasMotoring therefore does not advertise a horsepower or torque gain from the tips alone.

NO ECU TUNE REQUIRED

No ECU calibration is required.

The exhaust tips do not interfere with:

• Oxygen sensors

• Catalytic-converter monitoring

• Turbocharger control

• Fueling

• Ignition timing

Installation is entirely mechanical.

NO EMISSIONS-SYSTEM CHANGES

Because the modification occurs at the exhaust outlets, the SOUL tips do not remove or replace the vehicle's catalytic converters or emissions sensors.

This distinguishes them from the Cat Bypass Pipes, Sport Catalytic Converters, Competition X-Pipe, and other upstream exhaust components within the SOUL 991 Turbo catalog.

Product Description

The SOUL Sport Headers are a direct bolt-on performance upgrade for the 2013–2019 Porsche 991.1 and 991.2 911 Turbo / Turbo S, engineered to improve exhaust-gas flow into the turbochargers, sharpen boost response, increase usable power throughout the RPM range, and add more character to Porsche's 3.8L twin-turbo flat-six.

The factory turbo header uses a relatively basic double-wall design and incorporates an internal support structure within the center runner that interrupts the exhaust-gas flow path. SOUL replaces this arrangement with a freer-flowing single-wall T304L stainless-steel header built around an optimized 3-into-1 merge collector.

SOUL sizes the header outlet at approximately 1.63 inches inside diameter to transition smoothly into the approximately 1.54-inch factory turbocharger inlet. Combined with optimized runner geometry and internal volume, the design is intended to increase exhaust velocity into the turbochargers and provide noticeably quicker response when the driver requests boost.

In addition to the performance benefits, the single-wall construction allows more of the Turbo's mechanical and exhaust character to be heard, producing a sharper exhaust note, increased turbocharger sound, stronger burbles, and more pronounced pops between shifts and during deceleration without intentionally sacrificing ground clearance or introducing undesirable drone.

OPTIMIZED 3-INTO-1 MERGE COLLECTOR

The factory 991 Turbo manifold must collect the exhaust pulses from three cylinders and direct them into each turbocharger.

SOUL redesigns this transition around an optimized:

3-into-1 merge collector

intended to create a smoother path for exhaust gases entering the turbocharger.

The objective is not simply to use larger tubing. Runner geometry, collector shape, internal volume, and the transition into the turbine inlet all affect how efficiently exhaust energy reaches the turbo.

SOUL developed the Sport Headers around improving this complete flow path.

FACTORY CENTER-RUNNER RESTRICTION

Looking inside the factory header reveals an internal support structure in the middle runner.

That structure sits directly in the exhaust-gas path and interrupts what would otherwise be a smoother transition toward the collector.

SOUL eliminates this obstruction as part of its redesigned header architecture.

The result provides a cleaner path from:

Cylinder Head → Primary Runner → Merge Collector → Turbocharger

with fewer internal disruptions to exhaust flow.

1.63" HEADER OUTLET

SOUL measured the factory turbocharger inlet at approximately:

1.54" inside diameter

The Sport Header outlet is sized to approximately:

1.63" inside diameter

This allows SOUL to maintain the improved flow characteristics of the larger header while creating a smooth transition into the turbocharger inlet.

The design avoids treating the turbocharger flange as an abrupt restriction at the end of the header.

IMPROVED EXHAUST VELOCITY

SOUL developed the runner geometry and collector to increase exhaust velocity into the turbocharger.

On a turbocharged engine, the energy reaching the turbine directly influences how quickly the turbocharger can respond to changes in engine load.

The Sport Header design is intended to provide:

• Faster boost response

• Sharper throttle feedback

• More immediate acceleration

• Improved power delivery throughout the RPM range

• More usable power before the transmission needs to downshift

The difference is intended to be felt as improved response rather than simply represented by a peak horsepower number.

QUICKER BOOST RESPONSE

The combination of:

• Optimized runners

• Improved collector geometry

• Cleaner internal flow

• Larger header outlet

• Reduced internal obstruction

is designed to deliver exhaust energy to the turbochargers more efficiently.

SOUL describes the result as noticeably quicker boost response when the throttle is applied.

This characteristic is particularly useful on the 991 Turbo because improved response can make the car feel stronger during transient acceleration even when the engine is not operating at peak RPM.

SINGLE-WALL VS. FACTORY DOUBLE-WALL CONSTRUCTION

The factory Porsche header uses a double-wall design.

SOUL replaces it with a single-wall stainless-steel design.

Beyond the flow-related changes, the single-wall construction changes how much exhaust and turbocharger sound is transmitted through the system.

The result is a sharper and more mechanical exhaust character.

INCREASED TURBOCHARGER SOUND

The headers sit immediately upstream of the turbochargers, making changes in this area especially noticeable in the Turbo's acoustic character.

SOUL's single-wall construction allows more:

• Turbocharger sound

• Mechanical exhaust character

• Exhaust pulse definition

• Throttle-related sound

to be heard compared with the heavier factory double-wall manifolds.

SHARPER EXHAUST CHARACTER

SOUL specifically developed the headers to increase exhaust tone without creating undesirable acoustic characteristics.

Expect:

• Sharper exhaust tone

• Greater engine presence

• Increased turbocharger sound

• More audible burbles

• Sharper pops between shifts

• More pronounced deceleration events

The degree of these changes will vary based on the rest of the exhaust system and vehicle calibration.

NO INTENTIONAL DRONE PENALTY

A performance header does not need to make the vehicle unpleasant during normal driving.

SOUL specifically states that the additional volume and tonal character were achieved without producing undesirable drone qualities in its development.

Actual cabin sound will still depend substantially on the downstream exhaust configuration.

A vehicle retaining the factory catalysts and rear exhaust will naturally be considerably more subdued than one using:

• Cat Bypass Pipes

• Competition X-Pipe

• Sport X-Pipe

• Valved Exhaust

• Other freer-flowing exhaust components

MAINTAINS GROUND CLEARANCE

SOUL specifically developed the headers while considering clearance on daily-driven vehicles.

The system is intended to improve the header geometry and exhaust flow without sacrificing the underbody ground clearance needed for normal street use.

This is important on lowered 991 Turbos and vehicles that regularly encounter:

• Driveway transitions

• Speed bumps

• Road crowns

• Track curbing

.065-INCH T304L STAINLESS CONSTRUCTION

The Sport Headers are constructed from:

.065-inch-wall T304L stainless steel

The material provides an effective combination of:

• High-temperature durability

• Corrosion resistance

• Structural strength

• Relatively low mass

• Long service life

• Suitability for repeated heat cycling

MANDREL-BENT TUBING

SOUL uses mandrel-bent tubing to maintain the intended internal cross-sectional area through the header runners.

This helps preserve consistent:

• Runner geometry

• Internal diameter

• Exhaust velocity

• Flow characteristics

through the bends leading toward the merge collector.

LASER-CUT FLANGES

The headers use precision laser-cut flanges to maintain accurate cylinder-head and turbocharger interface geometry.

Accurate flange positioning is critical for:

• Exhaust sealing

• Turbocharger alignment

• Fastener alignment

• Installation consistency

• Long-term reliability

BACK-PURGED TIG WELDING

SOUL uses back-purged TIG welding during header fabrication.

The inside of the tubing is protected with shielding gas during welding to reduce oxidation and promote clean, complete weld penetration.

SOUL specifically uses:

ARCAL Prime argon

during this fabrication process.

THICK-GAUGE ALUMINUM FABRICATION FIXTURES

Header fabrication generates substantial localized heat.

SOUL builds the headers in thick-gauge aluminum fixtures, which act as heat sinks during welding.

This helps control:

• Thermal distortion

• Flange movement

• Runner alignment

• Collector positioning

The rigid fixtures also help SOUL maintain consistent dimensional accuracy from one set of headers to the next.

OEM PORSCHE GASKETS INCLUDED

SOUL includes OEM Porsche gaskets with the Sport Headers.

New high-grade installation hardware is also supplied.

This provides the correct sealing components for installation without requiring the installer to reuse old exhaust gaskets.

FIXTURE-TESTED FITMENT

Each finished component is quality checked and tested in a dedicated fixture before shipment.

This verifies:

• Cylinder-head flange alignment

• Turbocharger connection alignment

• Runner geometry

• Overall dimensional consistency

The headers are then foam packed to help protect them during transportation.

DIRECT BOLT-ON INSTALLATION

The Sport Headers are designed as a bolt-on replacement for the factory turbo manifolds.

The package includes:

• Left Sport Header

• Right Sport Header

• High-grade installation hardware

• OEM Porsche gaskets

No permanent chassis modification is required as part of normal installation.

COMPATIBLE WITH FACTORY CATALYSTS

The Sport Headers are positioned upstream of the turbochargers.

They do not themselves replace the downstream catalytic converters.

A customer can therefore install the headers while retaining:

• Factory turbochargers

• Factory catalytic converters

• Factory rear exhaust

for a comparatively conservative first-stage configuration.

WITH SOUL SPORT CATALYTIC CONVERTERS

Pairing the Sport Headers with SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters addresses exhaust flow on both sides of the turbocharger.

Sport Headers:
Improve exhaust flow into the turbochargers

Sport Catalytic Converters:
Reduce restriction after the turbochargers

This creates a more comprehensive catted performance configuration while retaining catalytic converters.

WITH SOUL CAT BYPASS PIPES

For a competition-focused configuration, the Sport Headers can be paired with SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes.

This combination provides:

• Improved pre-turbo exhaust flow

• Optimized merge collectors

• Reduced post-turbo restriction

• No catalytic converters

• Increased turbocharger sound

• Greater overall exhaust presence

Cat Bypass Pipes introduce separate emissions and catalyst-monitoring considerations that do not originate from the Sport Headers themselves.

WITH SOUL X-PIPE EXHAUST SYSTEMS

The Sport Headers can be combined with SOUL's modular 991 Turbo rear exhaust lineup, including:

• X-Pipe Exhaust

• Sport X-Pipe Exhaust

• Competition X-Pipe Exhaust

• Valved Exhaust System

This allows the headers to remain in place as the rest of the vehicle's exhaust configuration evolves.

PERFORMANCE

SOUL states that the optimized header design provides:

• Increased power

• Improved boost response

• Improved throttle response

• More usable power throughout the RPM range

However, the current 991 Turbo Sport Header product page does not publish a controlled before-and-after dyno test or numerical horsepower / torque gain for POR.991T.SH.

DasMotoring therefore does not advertise a specific horsepower or torque increase for this product.

WEIGHT

SOUL's current 991 Turbo Sport Header page does not publish factory or Sport Header weights.

DasMotoring therefore does not advertise a numerical weight-savings figure.

Product Description

The SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes are a direct bolt-on performance upgrade for the 2013–2019 Porsche 991.1 and 991.2 911 Turbo / Turbo S, replacing the restrictive factory catalytic converters with free-flowing 3-inch stainless-steel straight pipes.

Located immediately downstream of the turbochargers, the factory catalytic converters restrict exhaust flow while also suppressing a substantial amount of turbocharger and engine sound. SOUL removes the catalyst assemblies entirely and replaces them with large-diameter, mandrel-bent piping designed to maximize post-turbo exhaust flow.

The result is a dramatic increase in audible turbocharger spool, stronger flat-six exhaust character, increased crackles during deceleration, and improved throttle response.

At approximately 6 lbs, the SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes are approximately 10 lbs / 4.5 kg lighter than the roughly 16-lb factory catalytic-converter assemblies they replace.

COMPLETE CATALYTIC-CONVERTER DELETE

The SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes completely replace the original Porsche catalytic-converter assemblies.

The factory catalysts sit immediately downstream of the turbochargers and create resistance to the exhaust gases leaving the turbine outlets.

SOUL replaces those assemblies with unrestricted straight-through piping, eliminating the catalyst substrate entirely.

This provides:

• Reduced post-turbo restriction

• Greater exhaust-flow capacity

• Increased turbocharger sound

• Stronger engine note

• Improved throttle response

• Reduced exhaust-system weight

• Greater performance potential for modified vehicles

3-INCH EXHAUST PATH

SOUL selected:

3-inch-diameter piping

specifically to maximize exhaust flow and turbocharger sound.

The large-diameter architecture provides additional capacity for vehicles with:

• Factory turbochargers

• ECU tuning

• Increased boost

• Intake upgrades

• Intercooler upgrades

• Turbocharger upgrades

• Freer-flowing rear exhaust systems

• Other supporting performance modifications

For a high-output turbocharged engine, reducing restriction immediately after the turbines becomes increasingly valuable as exhaust mass flow increases.

REDUCED POST-TURBO RESTRICTION

A turbocharger's turbine must discharge exhaust into everything positioned downstream of it.

Restriction after the turbine increases the pressure into which the turbocharger must exhaust.

The factory catalyst substrates are one of the largest restrictions in this section of the 991 Turbo exhaust system.

Removing them provides a substantially more open path for exhaust gases leaving the turbochargers.

The Cat Bypass Pipes are therefore designed to improve the exhaust system's ability to support:

• Increased airflow

• Increased boost

• Higher engine output

• Modified turbocharger configurations

SIGNIFICANTLY MORE TURBO SOUND

Sound is one of the largest changes produced by the Cat Bypass Pipes.

The factory catalysts attenuate much of the sound generated by the Turbo's turbines before it reaches the rear exhaust.

Removing the catalyst substrates allows dramatically more:

• Turbo spool

• Turbo whistle

• Turbine sound

• Boost-related acoustic feedback

• Mechanical turbocharger character

to pass downstream.

SOUL specifically developed the 3-inch design around making the turbochargers considerably more audible.

INCREASED ENGINE NOTE

Removing the catalytic converters also allows significantly more of the 3.8L twin-turbo flat-six exhaust character to pass through the system.

Expect:

• Greater exhaust presence

• More aggressive acceleration sound

• Increased high-RPM intensity

• Stronger throttle-related feedback

• More audible shift events

• Greater deceleration character

The total sound level will depend heavily on which rear exhaust is installed behind the Cat Bypass Pipes.

DECELERATION CRACKLES

SOUL specifically highlights the increase in exhaust crackles during deceleration after removing the factory catalysts.

The freer exhaust path allows more of the engine calibration's existing overrun behavior to be heard.

The amount of crackling will vary with:

• ECU calibration

• 991.1 vs. 991.2 software

• Driving mode

• Rear exhaust configuration

• Other engine modifications

The Cat Bypass Pipes do not themselves create artificial combustion events; they make existing exhaust events considerably more audible.

IMPROVED THROTTLE RESPONSE

SOUL specifically identifies improved throttle response as one of the benefits of removing the restrictive factory catalysts.

Reducing exhaust restriction directly downstream of the turbochargers allows the exhaust system to respond more freely to changing engine load.

This characteristic becomes particularly relevant on tuned vehicles operating at greater airflow and boost levels.

WITH THE FACTORY REAR EXHAUST

The Cat Bypass Pipes can be installed while retaining Porsche's original rear exhaust.

This configuration provides:

• Significantly increased turbocharger sound

• Reduced post-turbo restriction

• Improved throttle response

• Approximately 10 lbs of weight savings

• Retained factory rear exhaust

• Retained factory exhaust-tip appearance

Keeping the factory rear exhaust provides the most restrained overall sound configuration available with these catless pipes.

WITH THE SOUL X-PIPE EXHAUST

Pairing the Cat Bypass Pipes with SOUL's rear X-Pipe creates a substantially more aggressive exhaust system.

The combination provides:

• Catless 3-inch catalyst sections

• 3-inch rear X-pipe architecture

• Proprietary X-pipe mixing chamber

• Quad straight-through race resonators

• Increased turbocharger sound

• Increased flat-six exhaust volume

• Significant rear exhaust-system weight reduction

This component combination corresponds closely to SOUL's complete Competition X-Pipe Exhaust System architecture.

WITH THE SOUL VALVED EXHAUST

The Cat Bypass Pipes can also be combined with SOUL's Valved Exhaust System.

This creates an especially useful configuration for customers who want the flow and sound benefits of a catless exhaust but still want active volume control.

The combination provides:

• Catless catalyst sections

• Reduced post-turbo restriction

• Aggressive valves-open operation

• Quieter resonated valves-closed operation

• Increased turbocharger sound

• Remote valve control

• HomeLink integration capability

This is a considerably more flexible arrangement than combining the Cat Bypass Pipes with a permanently open rear exhaust.

CAT BYPASS PIPES VS. SPORT CATALYTIC CONVERTERS

SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes

• $1,295.00

• Completely catless

• 3-inch straight-through piping

• Approximately 6 lbs

• Saves approximately 10 lbs

• Maximum catalyst-section flow

• Maximum turbocharger sound

• May trigger catalyst-related CELs

• Competition / off-road focused

SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters

• $3,695.00

• Retain high-flow catalysts

• Approximately 11.6 lbs

• Saves approximately 4.4 lbs

• Increased turbocharger sound

• Improved throttle response

• Developed for catalyst-related CEL-free operation

• More conservative catted configuration

The Cat Bypass Pipes are the more aggressive solution for customers prioritizing flow, sound, weight reduction, and competition use.

10-LB WEIGHT REDUCTION

SOUL publishes the following weights:

Factory Catalytic Converter Assemblies:
Approximately 16 lbs / 7.3 kg

SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes:
Approximately 6 lbs / 2.7 kg

Weight Savings:
Approximately 10 lbs / 4.5 kg

That removes approximately:

62.5%

of the weight of the factory catalyst assemblies.

Because this mass is positioned toward the rear of the 911, the reduction is particularly desirable for track-oriented vehicles.

.065-INCH T304L STAINLESS CONSTRUCTION

Each Cat Bypass Pipe is manufactured from:

.065-inch-wall T304L stainless steel

This material provides:

• High-temperature durability

• Corrosion resistance

• Structural strength

• Long service life

• Consistent fabrication characteristics

• Suitability for repeated street and track heat cycling

SMOOTH MANDREL BENDS

SOUL uses smooth mandrel bends to preserve the internal diameter of the tubing as it follows the required exhaust routing.

Maintaining a consistent internal cross-section helps avoid unnecessary restrictions in the post-turbo exhaust path.

THICK WATERJET-CUT FLANGES

The Cat Bypass Pipes use thick waterjet-cut flanges.

These are designed to maintain:

• Proper sealing

• Exhaust alignment

• Dimensional stability

• Durability through repeated thermal cycling

FIXTURE-TESTED FITMENT

Every set is tested in a dedicated fabrication fixture prior to shipment.

This helps verify:

• Flange location

• Pipe geometry

• Downstream exhaust alignment

• Overall dimensional consistency

Following quality control, SOUL foam packs the components to help protect them during shipment.

DIRECT BOLT-ON INSTALLATION

The Cat Bypass Pipes directly replace the factory catalytic-converter assemblies.

SOUL includes:

• Left Cat Bypass Pipe

• Right Cat Bypass Pipe

• Required installation hardware

• Detailed installation instructions

No cutting or welding is required during normal installation.

SOUL describes the installation as suitable for experienced DIY enthusiasts with appropriate tools and mechanical ability.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

Because the Cat Bypass Pipes completely remove the factory catalytic converters, the vehicle's emissions-monitoring system may recognize that catalyst functionality is no longer present.

SOUL explicitly states that this product:

may trigger a check engine light.

DasMotoring therefore does not advertise these pipes as CEL-free.

ECU TUNING

A custom ECU tune is not required for the Cat Bypass Pipes to physically install.

However, SOUL recommends an appropriate custom ECU calibration to address catalyst-related check engine lights on vehicles used for track or competition purposes.

A suitable performance calibration may also take greater advantage of:

• Reduced post-turbo restriction

• Increased exhaust-flow capacity

• Higher boost targets

• Supporting airflow modifications

• Turbocharger upgrades

NO PUBLISHED STANDALONE DYNO FIGURE

SOUL identifies improved throttle response and increased performance potential as benefits of removing the factory catalytic converters.

However, the current Cat Bypass Pipe product page does not provide a controlled factory-catalyst versus Cat-Bypass dyno comparison.

DasMotoring therefore does not advertise a specific horsepower or torque increase from the Cat Bypass Pipes alone.

MODULAR 991 TURBO EXHAUST SYSTEM

The Cat Bypass Pipes work within SOUL's modular 991 Turbo exhaust ecosystem.

They can be combined with:

• Factory rear exhaust

• SOUL X-Pipe Exhaust

• SOUL Valved Exhaust

This allows an owner to upgrade the catalyst and rear exhaust sections independently.

For example:

Cat Bypass + Factory Rear Exhaust

provides increased turbo sound and reduced restriction while retaining the factory rear muffler.

Cat Bypass + SOUL X-Pipe

creates a much more aggressive fixed-volume competition exhaust.

Cat Bypass + SOUL Valved Exhaust

adds active sound control to the catless configuration.

EMISSIONS / COMPETITION USE NOTE

The SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes completely remove the factory catalytic converters.

SOUL states that this product is:

• Not CARB certified

• May not be legal for use on emissions-controlled vehicles

• Intended for off-road / competition use only

Customers are responsible for determining whether their vehicle configuration and intended use comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Product Description

The SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters are a direct bolt-on performance upgrade for the 2013–2019 Porsche 991.1 and 991.2 911 Turbo / Turbo S, replacing the restrictive factory catalytic converters with premium high-flow catalyst assemblies designed to improve exhaust flow, turbocharger sound, throttle response, and performance while retaining a catted exhaust configuration.

Positioned immediately downstream of the turbochargers, the factory catalytic converters are one of the primary restrictions in the 991 Turbo exhaust system. SOUL's freer-flowing catalysts reduce this restriction while allowing significantly more of the turbochargers' natural spool and turbine sound to pass through the exhaust.

Unlike completely catless bypass pipes, the Sport Catalytic Converters retain catalytic-converter functionality and were specifically developed by SOUL to deliver increased performance without catalyst-related check engine lights under normal operating conditions.

HIGH-FLOW CATALYTIC CONVERTERS

The factory catalytic converters are positioned immediately downstream of the 991 Turbo's turbochargers.

This location makes catalyst flow particularly important because the turbine must discharge its exhaust gases directly into the catalyst section.

SOUL replaces the restrictive factory assemblies with premium high-flow catalytic converters designed to reduce post-turbine restriction while maintaining catalysts in the exhaust system.

Potential benefits include:

• Increased exhaust-flow capacity

• Improved throttle response

• Increased turbocharger sound

• Greater performance potential

• Stronger exhaust character

• Retained catalytic converters

• Fewer diagnostic compromises than a completely catless configuration

REDUCED POST-TURBO RESTRICTION

Exhaust restriction downstream of a turbocharger creates pressure against which the turbine must discharge.

Reducing this restriction can improve the overall efficiency of the exhaust path and provide additional flow capacity as engine output increases.

The Sport Catalytic Converters address one of the largest restrictions in the factory system without eliminating the catalysts entirely.

This becomes increasingly valuable as the vehicle receives modifications such as:

• ECU tuning

• Increased boost

• Intake upgrades

• Intercooler upgrades

• Freer-flowing rear exhaust components

• Turbocharger upgrades

INCREASED THROTTLE RESPONSE

SOUL specifically identifies improved throttle response as one of the benefits of the Sport Catalytic Converters.

Reducing restriction immediately after the turbochargers allows the exhaust system to respond more freely as engine load changes.

The improvement can become particularly noticeable when the Sport Cats are paired with additional performance modifications.

INCREASED TURBOCHARGER SOUND

One of the most noticeable changes from replacing the factory catalysts is increased audible turbocharger activity.

Expect more:

• Turbo spool

• Turbine whistle

• Boost-related exhaust sound

• Throttle-related acoustic feedback

• Mechanical turbocharger character

The factory catalyst substrates suppress a substantial amount of this sound before it reaches the rear exhaust.

The freer-flowing SOUL catalysts allow considerably more of it to pass through.

EXHAUST SOUND

The Sport Catalytic Converters also allow more of the 3.8L twin-turbo flat-six exhaust character to reach the rear of the vehicle.

Compared with the factory catalysts, expect:

• Greater turbocharger presence

• More exhaust texture under load

• Stronger acceleration sound

• Increased high-RPM presence

• More audible throttle transitions

• Greater deceleration character

The overall increase in volume will depend heavily on the rear exhaust installed behind the Sport Cats.

WITH THE FACTORY REAR EXHAUST

The Sport Catalytic Converters can be installed while retaining Porsche's original rear exhaust.

This is the most conservative configuration and provides:

• Reduced catalyst restriction

• Increased turbocharger sound

• Improved throttle response

• Retained factory rear exhaust

• Retained factory exterior appearance

• More restrained overall volume than a complete aftermarket exhaust system

This makes the Sport Cats a logical first-stage modification for an otherwise-stock 991 Turbo.

WITH THE SOUL X-PIPE EXHAUST

Pairing these Sport Catalytic Converters with SOUL's rear X-Pipe creates a much more comprehensive catted performance exhaust system.

The combination provides:

• High-flow catalysts

• Full 3-inch rear exhaust architecture

• Proprietary X-pipe mixing chamber

• Quad race resonators

• Increased turbocharger sound

• Increased overall exhaust volume

• Greater rear weight reduction

This combination is effectively the component architecture behind SOUL's complete Sport X-Pipe Exhaust System.

WITH THE SOUL VALVED EXHAUST

The Sport Catalytic Converters can also be paired with SOUL's Valved Exhaust System.

This creates a high-flow catted setup while adding active sound control.

The complete configuration provides:

• High-flow catalytic converters

• Aggressive valves-open exhaust path

• Quieter resonated valves-closed path

• Increased turbocharger sound

• Remote valve control

• HomeLink integration capability

This is particularly attractive for owners who want increased flow without giving up the ability to substantially reduce exhaust volume when desired.

SPORT CATS VS. FACTORY CATALYSTS

Factory Catalytic Converters

• Original Porsche emissions hardware

• Greater exhaust restriction

• Greater turbocharger sound attenuation

• Approximately 16 lbs

SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters

• Premium high-flow catalyst assemblies

• Reduced post-turbo restriction

• Increased turbocharger sound

• Improved throttle response

• Approximately 11.6 lbs

• Approximately 4.4 lbs lighter

• Developed for catalyst-related CEL-free operation

SPORT CATS VS. CAT BYPASS PIPES

SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters

• $3,695.00

• Retain catalytic converters

• High-flow catalyst elements

• Approximately 11.6 lbs

• Saves approximately 4.4 lbs

• Increased turbo sound

• Improved throttle response

• Developed to avoid catalyst-related CELs under normal operation

• More conservative configuration

SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes

• $1,295.00

• Completely catless

• Straight-through exhaust path

• Approximately 6 lbs

• Saves approximately 10 lbs

• Greater turbocharger sound

• Lower catalyst-section restriction

• May trigger catalyst-related check engine lights

• Competition / off-road-oriented configuration

For customers who want improved flow and sound while retaining catalysts, the Sport Catalytic Converters are the more appropriate option.

4.4-LB WEIGHT REDUCTION

SOUL publishes the following weights:

Factory Catalytic Converter Assemblies:
Approximately 16 lbs / 7.3 kg

SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters:
Approximately 11.6 lbs / 5.3 kg

Weight Savings:
Approximately 4.4 lbs / 2.0 kg

That represents approximately a:

27.5% reduction

in the weight of the catalyst assemblies being replaced.

DESIGNED FOR CEL-FREE OPERATION

SOUL specifically developed the Sport Catalytic Converters around increasing flow without creating the catalyst-monitoring problems associated with fully catless pipes.

SOUL describes the product as providing:

Added performance without a check engine light.

For DasMotoring purposes, this should be treated as the manufacturer's intended operating behavior rather than an unconditional guarantee for every vehicle.

Diagnostic behavior can still potentially be influenced by:

• Oxygen-sensor condition

• ECU software

• Vehicle condition

• Additional modifications

• Catalyst condition over time

NO ECU TUNE REQUIRED

SOUL does not specify ECU tuning as a requirement for installation of the Sport Catalytic Converters.

They are designed as a direct bolt-on hardware upgrade.

A performance calibration may still provide additional gains by taking advantage of the increased exhaust-flow capacity, but tuning is not required simply to install the catalysts.

NO PUBLISHED STANDALONE DYNO NUMBER

SOUL describes the Sport Catalytic Converters as providing a significant increase in power along with improved throttle response and sound.

However, the current product page does not publish a controlled factory-catalyst versus Sport-Catalyst dyno comparison.

DasMotoring therefore does not advertise a specific horsepower or torque increase from this product alone.

CURRENT CATALYST SPECIFICATION

SOUL's current product page describes these assemblies as using:

Premium high-flow catalysts

but does not currently publish:

• Catalyst cell count

• Catalyst manufacturer

• Substrate material

• Precious-metal loading

DasMotoring therefore does not advertise any of those specifications unless confirmed for current production.

.065-INCH T304L STAINLESS CONSTRUCTION

Each Sport Catalytic Converter assembly is manufactured from:

.065-inch-wall T304L stainless steel

This provides:

• High-temperature durability

• Corrosion resistance

• Structural strength

• Consistent fabrication characteristics

• Long-term exhaust-system reliability

SMOOTH MANDREL BENDS

SOUL uses smooth mandrel-bent tubing to maintain a consistent internal flow area through the catalyst assemblies.

Maintaining tubing geometry through bends helps avoid unnecessary restrictions downstream of the turbochargers.

THICK EXHAUST FLANGES

The assemblies use substantial exhaust flanges designed to maintain alignment and sealing under repeated thermal cycling.

This is particularly important immediately downstream of the turbochargers, where temperatures can become extremely high.

FIXTURE-TESTED FITMENT

Every set is tested in a dedicated fabrication fixture prior to shipment.

This verifies:

• Flange position

• Exhaust alignment

• Downstream connection geometry

• Overall dimensional consistency

The assemblies are then quality checked and foam packed for shipping.

DIRECT BOLT-ON INSTALLATION

The Sport Catalytic Converters directly replace the factory catalyst assemblies.

SOUL includes:

• Left Sport Catalytic Converter

• Right Sport Catalytic Converter

• Installation hardware

• Detailed installation instructions

No cutting or welding is required during normal installation.

MODULAR 991 TURBO EXHAUST ARCHITECTURE

These Sport Catalytic Converters work particularly well within SOUL's modular 991 Turbo exhaust family.

An owner can combine them with:

• Factory rear exhaust

• SOUL X-Pipe Exhaust

• SOUL Valved Exhaust

allowing the exhaust system to evolve without necessarily replacing every component at once.

EMISSIONS NOTE

Although the Sport Catalytic Converters retain catalytic converters, they replace Porsche's original emissions hardware with aftermarket high-flow components.

SOUL states that this product is not CARB certified and may not be legal for use on emissions-controlled vehicles. SOUL identifies it as intended for off-road use.

Customers are responsible for determining whether their vehicle and complete exhaust configuration comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Product Description

The SOUL Valved Exhaust System transforms the 2013–2019 Porsche 991.1 and 991.2 911 Turbo / Turbo S from one of Porsche's most subdued performance cars into a true dual-personality exhaust system.

Unlike the factory 991 Turbo exhaust, which is non-valved, SOUL uses a purpose-built dual-path architecture with a full 3-inch primary flow path for maximum sound and performance and a resonated 2-inch secondary flow path for quieter cruising.

With the valves open, exhaust is routed through the larger 3-inch primary path for an aggressive, refined flat-six tone with substantially increased turbocharger presence. Close the valves and exhaust is redirected through the smaller secondary path and oversized resonators, dramatically reducing volume, smoothing exhaust pulses, and suppressing unwanted cabin drone.

Because the factory 991 Turbo does not provide PSE-style exhaust valve controls, SOUL includes an independent Valve Controller Kit. Valve operation can be controlled using the supplied remotes or programmed to compatible HomeLink buttons inside the vehicle.

The system can be configured three ways upstream: retain the factory catalytic converters, add SOUL Competition Cat Bypass Pipes, or add SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters. Customers may also retain the factory tips on most vehicles or select SOUL's T316L stainless-steel Straight Cut or GT2 Style tips.

A TRUE VALVED EXHAUST FOR THE 991 TURBO

The factory 991 Turbo exhaust system is notably different from many Porsche Carrera PSE systems.

The 991 Turbo did not leave the factory with an active exhaust-valve system controlled by a PSE button.

SOUL therefore had to develop an entirely new exhaust-control architecture rather than simply reusing Porsche's existing valve commands.

The system provides two genuinely different exhaust paths:

Valves Open:
Full 3-inch primary flow path

Valves Closed:
Resonated 2-inch secondary flow path

The result is substantially greater control over the vehicle's sound character than a conventional fixed exhaust.

VALVES OPEN

Opening the exhaust valves directs gases through the system's larger:

3-inch primary flow path

This mode is designed to maximize:

• Exhaust-flow capacity

• Turbocharger sound

• Flat-six character

• Exterior volume

• Performance potential

• Throttle-related acoustic feedback

SOUL describes the result as aggressive while still maintaining a more refined character than a simple direct-dump arrangement.

Expect significantly greater:

• Turbo spool

• Turbine whistle

• Acceleration sound

• High-RPM presence

• Shift-related exhaust events

• Deceleration character

VALVES CLOSED

Closing the valves redirects exhaust into the:

2-inch secondary flow path

before routing gases through oversized resonators.

The quieter path was specifically developed to reduce:

• Exterior volume

• Low-RPM cabin presence

• Exhaust drone

• Unwanted exhaust pulses

• Long-distance cruising fatigue

SOUL designed this mode for situations such as:

• Highway driving

• Early-morning starts

• Residential areas

• Long-distance touring

• Low-profile street driving

• Track facilities with strict sound limits

Despite the reduced sound level, SOUL states that the secondary path still offers improved flow compared with the factory muffler.

OVERSIZED SECONDARY RESONATORS

Packaging a useful quiet path inside the rear of a 991 Turbo presents a significant engineering challenge.

Simply reducing the diameter of the secondary tubing was not enough to achieve the sound reduction SOUL wanted.

SOUL therefore routes the smaller secondary piping into oversized resonators.

These resonators work to:

• Suppress overall sound level

• Smooth exhaust pulses

• Reduce undesirable frequencies

• Minimize cabin drone

• Provide a noticeably quieter valves-closed mode

This allows the car to remain civilized without forcing both exhaust modes through the same muffling architecture.

TUNED-LENGTH PRIMARY FLOW PATH

SOUL originally experimented with its more traditional blended X-pipe concept.

However, when combined with the secondary flow path, SOUL found that the X-pipe configuration did not create enough difference in volume between open and closed modes.

The production Valved Exhaust therefore uses a:

Tuned-length primary flow path with a balance pipe

This provides a stronger acoustic distinction between the two valve positions.

BALANCE PIPE

The primary exhaust streams are connected through a balance pipe rather than SOUL's conventional full X-pipe mixing chamber.

This architecture was selected specifically for the Valved Exhaust after multiple prototypes.

It helps produce:

• A more noticeable valves-open sound

• Smoother exhaust character

• Better integration between the two cylinder-bank exhaust streams

• Greater distinction between open and closed modes

MORE REFINED THAN GT2 RS-STYLE DUMP PIPES

A GT2 RS-style exhaust concept routes gases from the catalyst area almost directly toward the rear bumper.

That can produce tremendous volume but also allows considerably more:

• Turbocharger mechanical sound

• Valve-operation noise

• Raw exhaust texture

• Abrupt acoustic behavior

SOUL specifically developed the Valved Exhaust to provide a more refined alternative.

The system still becomes aggressive with the valves open, but without relying on an extremely short direct-dump architecture.

INDEPENDENT VALVE CONTROLLER

Because the factory 991 Turbo exhaust is non-valved, the vehicle does not have the vacuum-control system or factory electronic exhaust-valve infrastructure necessary to operate an aftermarket valved system by itself.

SOUL therefore includes an independent Valve Controller Kit.

This provides direct driver control over valve position.

The exhaust does not rely on Porsche's factory PSE button because the 991 Turbo did not use that system.

REMOTE CONTROL

The included controller provides remote valve operation.

The driver can select between:

Quiet / Valves Closed

and

Aggressive / Valves Open

without changing the underlying vehicle exhaust hardware.

HOMELINK INTEGRATION

SOUL's controller can also be programmed to compatible HomeLink buttons inside the vehicle.

This provides an integrated solution without requiring the driver to keep the supplied remote immediately accessible.

HomeLink can therefore be used to command the exhaust valves from the factory interior controls.

THREE CATALYST CONFIGURATIONS

The Valved Exhaust can be configured with:

Reuse OEM Catalytic Converters

SOUL Competition Cat Bypass Pipes

or

SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters

This makes the system unusually flexible because the same basic valved rear exhaust can serve everything from a relatively mild street car to a highly modified competition-focused Turbo.

REUSE OEM CATALYTIC CONVERTERS

The least expensive and most conservative configuration retains Porsche's original catalyst assemblies.

This configuration provides:

• Full valved-exhaust functionality

• 3-inch valves-open path

• Resonated valves-closed path

• Increased exhaust character

• Increased turbocharger presence

• Retained factory catalysts

• Lowest package price

For customers primarily interested in sound control and exhaust character, this is the logical starting point.

COMPETITION CAT BYPASS CONFIGURATION

The Competition configuration adds SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes and removes the factory catalytic converters.

Benefits include:

• Reduced post-turbo restriction

• Greater turbocharger sound

• Greater exhaust volume

• Increased flow capacity

• Reduced catalyst-section weight

• Greater tuning potential

Because the catalytic converters are removed, this configuration introduces additional emissions and diagnostic considerations.

It is intended for competition / off-road applications where catalyst retention is not required.

SPORT CATALYTIC CONVERTER CONFIGURATION

The Sport configuration replaces the factory catalysts with SOUL's high-flow Sport Catalytic Converters.

This provides a middle ground between the OEM-catalyst and completely catless configurations.

Benefits include:

• Increased catalyst-section flow

• Increased turbocharger sound

• Improved throttle response

• Greater performance potential

• Retained catalytic converters

• More street-oriented operation than the Competition configuration

This is the most comprehensive catted version of the SOUL Valved Exhaust System.

CURRENT SOUL HIGH-FLOW CATALYST DESIGN

Current product data for the Sport Cat configuration identifies a SOUL-designed 300-cell catalyst with a custom-specified precious-metal coating and triple-metal matrix core.

The Sport Cat option should therefore be treated separately from older 991 Turbo exhaust descriptions that referenced earlier catalyst specifications.

3D-PRINTED 316L COMPONENTS

Current product information for the Valved Exhaust also identifies the use of metal 3D-printed 316L stainless-steel sections where the geometry benefits from additive manufacturing.

These complex components allow SOUL to create optimized internal flow paths that would be difficult to reproduce using conventional cut-and-weld fabrication alone.

.065-INCH T304L STAINLESS CONSTRUCTION

The primary fabricated exhaust components use:

.065-inch-wall T304L stainless steel

This provides:

• High-temperature durability

• Corrosion resistance

• Structural strength

• Consistent fabrication

• Long service life

• Suitability for repeated street and track heat cycling

BACK-PURGED TIG WELDING

Current SOUL fabrication specifications use back-purged TIG welding to promote proper weld penetration and minimize oxidation inside the tubing.

This contributes to:

• Strong weld joints

• Cleaner internal surfaces

• Improved durability

• Consistent exhaust-flow paths

EXHAUST TIP OPTIONS

Three tip configurations are available:

Reuse OEM Tips

Signature Satin GT2 Style Single Wall

Signature Satin Straight Cut Single Wall

SOUL's current optional tips are manufactured from T316L stainless steel.

REUSE OEM TIPS

Most standard 991 Turbo and Turbo S vehicles can reuse their original factory exhaust tips.

This provides:

• OEM rear appearance

• Lowest purchase price

• No additional tip cost

The OEM-tip option is available with all three catalyst configurations.

GT2 STYLE SINGLE WALL TIPS

The GT2 Style tips provide a more aggressive motorsport-inspired appearance.

They are manufactured from T316L stainless steel and finished in SOUL's Signature Satin.

STRAIGHT CUT SINGLE WALL TIPS

The Straight Cut tips provide a cleaner and more traditional motorsport-style outlet.

They are also manufactured from T316L stainless steel with SOUL's Signature Satin finish.

TURBO S EXCLUSIVE SERIES

The 991.2 Turbo S Exclusive Series cannot reuse its factory exhaust tips with the SOUL Valved Exhaust System.

Exclusive Series customers must select:

• Signature Satin GT2 Style Single Wall

or

• Signature Satin Straight Cut Single Wall

Do not fulfill an Exclusive Series order using the OEM-tip configuration.

For a catless car that still sees regular street or sound-restricted track use, the Valved Exhaust provides considerably more acoustic flexibility.

PERFORMANCE

SOUL designed the 3-inch primary path and available high-flow catalyst / catless configurations to support increased engine output.

However, the current Valved Exhaust product page does not publish a controlled stock-exhaust versus Valved-Exhaust-only dyno comparison.

DasMotoring therefore does not advertise a specific numerical horsepower or torque increase for the system itself.

WEIGHT

SOUL's current Valved Exhaust product page does not publish a verified system weight or factory-to-SOUL weight comparison.

DasMotoring therefore does not advertise a numerical weight-savings figure for this system.

EMISSIONS NOTE

The emissions characteristics of the system depend on the selected catalyst configuration.

Reuse OEM Cats: retains the factory catalytic converters.

Sport Cats: replaces factory catalyst assemblies with aftermarket high-flow catalysts.

Competition: removes the catalytic converters entirely and is intended for competition / off-road use.

Customers are responsible for determining compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Product Description

The SOUL X-Pipe Exhaust is a direct bolt-on rear exhaust upgrade for the 2013–2019 Porsche 991.1 and 991.2 911 Turbo / Turbo S, designed for owners who want substantially more flat-six and turbocharger sound while retaining the factory catalytic-converter sections.

SOUL replaces the restrictive factory rear exhaust with a full 3-inch T304L stainless-steel X-pipe system featuring a proprietary exhaust-stream mixing chamber and four straight-through race resonators. The result is increased exhaust volume, stronger turbocharger presence, more pronounced pops and burbles on deceleration, and an OEM-plus character while maintaining the factory catalysts upstream.

The quad race resonators are specifically used to control undesirable cabin resonance without placing conventional restrictive mufflers in the primary exhaust path.

RETAINS THE FACTORY CATALYTIC CONVERTERS

Unlike SOUL's Competition and Sport X-Pipe systems, this X-Pipe replaces only the rear exhaust section.

The original catalyst assemblies remain installed.

This allows owners to improve:

• Exhaust volume

• Exhaust tone

• Turbocharger sound

• Rear exhaust flow

• Exhaust-system weight

without replacing the factory catalytic converters.

For an otherwise-stock car, this makes the X-Pipe the simplest of SOUL's major 991 Turbo exhaust-system upgrades.

FULL 3-INCH EXHAUST ARCHITECTURE

SOUL uses:

3-inch-diameter tubing

through the X-Pipe system.

The larger exhaust path was selected not only for sound but also to provide additional flow capacity for higher-output cars.

This makes the X-Pipe suitable for vehicles with:

• ECU tuning

• Increased boost

• Intake upgrades

• Intercooler upgrades

• SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters

• SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes

• Turbocharger upgrades

• Other supporting performance modifications

PROPRIETARY X-PIPE MIXING CHAMBER

SOUL developed a dedicated mixing chamber within the X-pipe rather than simply running two isolated exhaust pipes toward the rear of the car.

During development, SOUL analyzed the design in 3D CAD across multiple pressure and temperature conditions and observed a general increase in exhaust velocity downstream of the mixing chamber.

The design is intended to provide:

• Improved exhaust-stream blending

• Reduced backpressure

• Increased downstream exhaust velocity

• Higher-flow capability

• Smoother exhaust character

• Improved sound quality

QUAD RACE RESONATORS

A freer-flowing 3-inch exhaust can easily introduce undesirable low-frequency cabin resonance.

SOUL therefore incorporates:

Four straight-through race resonators

into the X-Pipe.

These use full-metal packing for durability at elevated exhaust temperatures.

The resonators are intended to reduce unwanted frequencies while maintaining a relatively unrestricted primary exhaust path.

This allows the system to provide substantially greater sound without simply becoming an unrefined straight-pipe rear exhaust.

OEM-PLUS SOUND

This X-Pipe is intended to be the more restrained rear-exhaust option within SOUL's 991 Turbo range.

SOUL describes the resulting character as OEM+.

Compared with the stock exhaust, expect:

• Increased cold-start presence

• Greater flat-six engine note

• Stronger turbocharger sound

• Increased exhaust volume under acceleration

• More audible turbine activity

• Increased pops and burbles on deceleration

• More high-RPM character

• Greater cabin involvement

At steady-state cruising speeds, the quad resonators are designed to keep undesirable drone under control.

TURBOCHARGER SOUND

Even with the original catalytic converters retained, reducing downstream muffling allows more turbocharger sound to reach the driver.

Expect increased:

• Turbo spool

• Turbine whistle

• Throttle-related sound

• Boost-related exhaust character

Customers seeking an even greater increase in turbo sound can later pair the X-Pipe with SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters or Cat Bypass Pipes.

DECELERATION POPS & BURBLES

The freer-flowing rear exhaust makes the engine's existing overrun behavior substantially easier to hear.

Expect more audible:

• Pops

• Crackles

• Burbling

• Shift-related exhaust events

The amount will depend on:

• 991.1 vs. 991.2 calibration

• Driving mode

• ECU software

• Catalyst configuration

• Other engine modifications

The exhaust itself does not create artificial combustion events.

RETAINS FACTORY CATALYST MONITORING

Because this X-Pipe leaves the factory catalytic converters and their associated emissions-monitoring architecture in place, it does not create the same catalyst-delete concerns as SOUL's Competition X-Pipe.

No ECU calibration is required simply to install the rear X-Pipe.

DasMotoring does not claim that any modification can guarantee the absence of diagnostic faults on every vehicle, but this product does not itself remove the catalysts.

8.4-LB WEIGHT REDUCTION

SOUL's current published weights are:

Factory Rear Exhaust Components:
approximately 24.85 lbs

SOUL X-Pipe Exhaust:
approximately 16.45 lbs

Weight Savings:
approximately 8.4 lbs / 3.8 kg

These measurements are stated without exhaust tips.

That represents approximately a:

34% reduction

in the weight of the rear exhaust components being replaced.

T304L STAINLESS CONSTRUCTION

The main exhaust system is manufactured from:

Mandrel-bent T304L stainless steel

with:

3-inch diameter tubing

and:

.065-inch wall thickness

This provides a balance of:

• High-temperature durability

• Corrosion resistance

• Structural strength

• Low mass

• Consistent internal geometry

• Long service life

FULL-METAL RESONATOR PACKING

SOUL's straight-through resonators use full-metal packing material.

This is particularly appropriate on a turbocharged vehicle because exhaust temperatures can remain elevated during extended high-load or track use.

The construction is intended to provide long-term acoustic performance without significantly obstructing exhaust flow.

LASER-CUT MOUNTING BRACKETS

SOUL uses laser-cut mounting brackets to maintain consistent exhaust positioning.

Each completed system is fixture-tested prior to shipment to verify:

• Mounting alignment

• X-pipe position

• Exhaust-tip positioning

• Chassis clearance

• Overall dimensional consistency

EXHAUST TIP OPTIONS

Three tip configurations are available.

Exclusive Series customers must select:

• Signature Satin GT2 Style Single Wall

or

• Signature Satin Straight Cut Single Wall

Do not order the OEM-tip configuration for an Exclusive Series vehicle.

MODULAR EXHAUST ARCHITECTURE

One of the strongest advantages of the SOUL 991 Turbo exhaust family is its modularity.

An owner can initially install the rear X-Pipe while retaining the factory catalysts and later add:

• SOUL Sport Catalytic Converters

or

• SOUL Cat Bypass Pipes

without replacing the rear exhaust again.

This allows the exhaust to evolve with the vehicle.

X-PIPE + FACTORY CATALYSTS

This configuration provides the most conservative SOUL X-Pipe setup.

Factory Cats + SOUL X-Pipe

• Retains factory catalytic converters

• Increases rear exhaust flow

• Increases flat-six sound

• Increases turbo sound

• Saves approximately 8.4 lbs

• Retains a comparatively OEM-plus character

• No catalyst removal
